Messing With Cops On Halloween Legal Or Illegal

Is it illegal to dress as a terrorist for halloween?

although it might not be "Illegal", it will probably get you in big trouble with the law...either someone will somehow mistake you for an ACTUAL terrorist (Don't know how), or someone might assume that you are praising, or even worshiping, real terrorists...or you might give an old granny a heart attack (Either that, or she'll hit you on the head with a rolling pin for self-defense...I mean this as a joke, but who knows? It may be true.) I wouldn't go as a Terrorist, but it's your call.

Is carrying my airsoft gun on halloween illegal?

I walked around with one of those store bought ak47 that are fake and they just make a noise. It was Halloween and when a cop passed right by me. He looked at me but the orange tip made it obvious that it is a fake. It is all depending where you live. I live in a small town so there is no problem. But do not go around the streets of new york and wave your airsoft gun all around. It is all based on the situation. If the cop stops you do exactly what they say. You will be let go if you comply with what they say. Just do not be stupid. Also make sure your gun has NO BBS IN IT. THAT IS A PROBLEM. Make sure that you do that.

Is it illegal to wear a Halloween mask into a bank? I just like to wear them. Can they stop me?

There are a couple things that can happen, all bad. There is in fact in most states a public offense with a name that in Iowa is something like "disturbing the peace." (My son-in-law just told me in Texas it's called "terroristic threat" and says it was called that before 9/11, and says it will get you a quick trip to jail.)

That means doing something really stupid, which a reasonable person would know would frighten people, and thus would not do. If your state has such a law, you will be arrested, cuffed, and taken off to jail for some serious thinking time.

Or, you might get shot by a trigger-happy skin-head security employee with a Glock. That isn't as bad as it sounds, because the Glock is notorious at not killing anyone. (They all use them now, because it bothered the feminists to see female cops with these little toy pistols, while the men had .45 ACP's, that can stop an elephant, but which would break female wrists, so they decreed the men also had to use toy pistols.)

And most security guys can't hit the bank wall without a burst of good luck. Still, there is sometimes a burst of good luck.

However, this might qualify you for the Annual Darwin Award. Your parents would at least have the posthumous trophy as a memento, which is probably more than they will otherwise have, based on your present attitudes.

Is it illegal to dress up as a police officer, like for Halloween?

For the halloween party it is ok, but once you step out of the party place, you have to change it to ordinary civil clothes, otherwise, if apprehended, police authorities will presume that you are doing somethin else against the law. Get your self out of possible trouble.

Is it legal to wear your military service uniform on halloween?

You can, but you can't wear any unit patches, rank, insignia, medals/ribbons, or any other identifying pieces. The reason for this is that the uniform is an official representation of the military and of the person wearing it, their accomplishments, and their unit. Just by itself--that is, the boots, pants, belt, shirt, blouse, and cap--are okay. Wearing a full and proper uniform for anything other than official business would suggest official endorsement of that event (which is why it's illegal for soldiers to attend political rallies in uniform, for example, unless given permission to do so).

EDIT: Isaac's answer is another reason why you shouldn't do that. But in that case... that's just pathetic.

Illegal to wear "Police Officer" clothing in public?

Hi, I realize this question was posted 5 yrs ago. As a young adult, I wanted to provide my input. I wondered this as well. Since I'm from the state of CA, specifically, San Francisco. Asking a family friend who happens to be an officer told me that its only a problem if you: (1) Pose and act as one, with the intention to impersonate an officer (any form of law enforcement really) (2) Secondly, if any of the clothing worn is authentic and comes from a actual 'officer' such as a 'badge' (3) Lastly, if any of the clothing happens to specifies what city or resembles an actual uniform from your state/city.

Using myself as an example, I'll be heading to a 'Halloween party' with my "officer outfit". If my badge, which is plastic and came from a Halloween thrift shop, were to say: "San Francisco Police" there is a problem. Even if its fake it indicates the city and resembles that of my city police badges- which also says 'SF police etc...' Hope this helps, along with the other helpful responses :)
