What do non-metalheads think about metal?
I know this question is for non-metalheads, but I think I can clear out some misconceptions about us metalheads. Remember that this is my point of view and opinion and might not apply to every metalhead out there. Here are some statements I’ve heard!We listen to metal because we’re angry.Not true at all! I’m generally a very happy person and almost never angry. Metal doesn’t make me angry either, I just like the sound and the power and strength in it.It’s impossible to understand the lyrics.There are some songs where you can’t understand the lyrics very well, but that’s not all metal. It’s typical to death metal and “cores” but listen to a song from a power metal band. The vocals can be clean too, and they’re very easy to understand most of the time. Iron Maiden for example!Metalheads are satanists.Nope. We’re regular people, just like you non-metalheads. There are some metal songs that are about satanism though, but it’s not even a big minority. And someone liking a song about devil worship, doesn’t mean they’re satanists. There are many pop songs about sex, but the fans don’t necessarily have STD’s!It’s just noise and doesn’t require any skill.It requires a lot of skill. Listen to this guitar solo from Children of Bodom for example, and tell me it doesn’t require skill and is just noise. You have to be pretty damn talented to play like that. Also trust me, even growling and shouting vocals require skill. Try to do low death metal growls and not lose your voice in a few minutes.Every metalhead looks like this:Not too often. I’m a metalhead and I use completely normal clothes. They might look more metal than your grandma’s, but I don’t think a T-shirt with dragons or an AC/DC hoodie is too extreme.Overall, we’re chill people with a sense of humor and a kind heart. Of course there are exceptions, but that applies to the fans of any music genre.
What do metalheads think of Green Day?
I guess you could consider me partly a metalhead. Im more into hardcore but green day was good back in the 90's. I personally don't like the commercialized sound they've had since they got popular. a lot of ppl think the opposite tho.
Fellow Metal heads what do you think of Epica?
Firstly, I'm an Egyptian Muslim and I'm truly in LOVE with this band! and most especially, with Simone! and I know they aren't racist against Islam or against anything, They're just some very cool persons; Simone, Mark and the rest of the band, They're just great! Well, they were just criticising the bad things about the organised religions in general (This was only on their first concept album "The Divine Conspiracy") and for them singing about the suicidal-bombers on "Safeguard to Paradise", They're 100% right about it! I wouldn't ever feel offended if they even cursed those ignorants! I myself hate those "fools" that appear on the Television screaming and calling that they're the good ones and the others are all just some "Infidels".. I most especially hate their breads and greasy faces; They're just a huge disgrace to Islam and us (civilized and open-minded) Muslims. I think such "fools" shouldn't be belonging to a "religion"! There can't be a religion that says to kill innocent people and blow oneself and sacrifice it for "nothing" really, There's no point in killing people and being a highly stupid and unthinking butt! and for the record, Their song "Fools of Damnation" is one of their absolute best songs, in my opinion. I love it! and generally that particular album is probably their best, it does have some GREAT and meaningful songs e.g. Chasing the Dragon, Beyond Belief, The Divine Conspiracy, Safeguard to Paradise, Never Enough and the Obsessive Devotion! They're Dutch and probably the best Symphonic Metal band that I'd ever enjoy listening to. and Simone Simons is by all means perfect! God, I'd really wish to marry her. She has a very great personality and is beautiful from both the out-and-inside and truly deserves to be respected and loved as she really is. So, I can say that I adore her! and adore this band, as well; Their music is just unique! I hope they never separate like with Nightwish and Tarja.. and stay together forever and keep on making such EPIC music and albums and with such beautiful and meaningful lyrics. :)
R&P: So what do Metalheads think of Tool?
as soon as i saw the word "tool" i knew i had to click! i discovered tool this summer and ive been hooked ever since. their actual music is fantastic, and their lyrics are so cryptically amazing. you have to understand the meaning of the song to appreciate it in full! :) im not exactly a metalhead, but i would say that tool is some kind of alternative hard rock. there are songs like aenima and songs like lateralus - completely different! but i think they would hover around that genre glad to see that there are other tool lovers out there :) rock on.
Metalheads: what do you think of Touhou metal?
there is a video game series called Touhou that's extremely popular in Japan (based on what I've seen of it, I don't understand why). For metalheads: what is ur opinion about rap and do u listen to this music?
i love metal, i love rock , everyday i listen to this music. but from the other side i like rap too not all the artists, but some rap songs i like are from 3 six mafia, eminem, immortal technique, outlawz, hollywood undead. well i like rap but the first music i like and i listen to it everyday from the morning till i sleep is rock and metal. whats ur opinion about rap music?? do u listen to it too or is it just me ??? oh and i listen to rap once in a while...
What MUSIC do you think TRUE metal-head listen to!?
Everyone knows that metal has its roots with Black-Sabbath. And the first song that every mentioned the word "HEAVY METAL" was Born to be Wild! But, tell me what TRUE METAL HEADS LISTEN TO! HAHA! I'm 16, and I was not alive in the 70s and 80s! Obviously! So sad! Cause I hate 90 percent of todays music! Seriously! it nowhere from what I can tell it used to be!
