How can I get amazing at building in minecraft?

Becoming good at building in Minecraft is similar to becoming good at anything. It involves several steps:#1: BuildMost obviously, to improve at building, you need to build a lot, ideally every day. I'll reiterate what Pave; Drotár said, that most of your initial work will be terrible. In order to build great stuff you need to build some terrible stuff first. Make sure to build different types of structures and different styles.NOTE: Save all of your builds for future reference. This will be invaluable later.#2: Study OthersBuilding alone will help you build better and generate better ideas, but to improve further and faster you should also study others' creations and ideas. With a quick Google search I found several that seem to be worth reading:BenJ's Ultimate Guide to Making Things Look Good v2.0 How to make a building look great 10 Helpful Minecraft Building Tips and Tricks And a cool reddit page: What are the secrets to becoming a good builder? • /r/Minecraft If you really want to stand out, study real-life architecture.#3: CollabarateJoin a build team, submit your creations to popular forums, and build maps. This will accelerate the learning process and help you create real, valuable creations. Map builders for servers are always in high demand, and many are paid for their work.

What are some good ideas for building a Minecraft town?

I'd suggest you expand an existing NPC village with more houses. Try replacing the gravel roads with stone bricks or cobblestone for a more aesthetic look, and you could introduce new house models and rebuild existing village houses. Remember to protect the villagers though, either with iron golems or by sleeping promptly at night. Eventually, you could add city walls to finish the town off. In case you want to build from scratch, look at my answer to another question: Lecta Orinosto's answer to How do you build a village in Minecraft?

What should I do if Minecraft was my idea? I came up with the idea, and most parts of the game, which I told to someone in University. They were building the game. What I would want is an official endorsement to help me get funding for an idea.

Disregarding the fact that your story is patently untrue (*), it still buys you very little sympathy. The reason is this:execution > ideaAn un-executed idea or intention is worth nothing.I wanted to go to the gym but didn't, isn't it unfair that I don't get fitter when the other guys did all the lifting and sweating? No it isn't. The other guys did the lifting and sweating. They got fit. You just thought about it and maybe talked about it. That buys you nothing.I dreamt of eating pizza, and told my friend about the dream. He went and had pizza. Isn't it unfair that I am still hungry, when it was my dream to have pizza?Err, no.(*) Your story is untrue because Minecraft started out as a clone of another game, called InfiniMiner, which was a promising open source project by Zachary Barth and an un-named friend (I guess that could be you?). InfiniMiner garnered a certain following, but the barth abandoned it after the source code leaked. But it did get the “voxel-genre” started. Notch picked up where Barth left of and added a lot of his own ideas and features. Note, though, that InfiniMiner was written in C#; Notch did not base his game on the InfiniMiner source code but started from scratch and wrote the whole thing in Java, of all things. So I guess the “someone” you told your ideas to in University must have been Zachary Barth (or his unnamed friend) , so you would have to take it up with him/them. You’re still not entitled to anything; InfiniMiner was developed for fun and released for free, Barth made zero dollars off it, so there’s no money to be claimed even if you wanted to sue Barth and were able to prove that you were a major contributor. But he is regarded as the father of the “block world building game genre”, so send him a mail or a tweet or something, he probably would not object to sharing some of his fame with you if you did indeed collaborate with him on design principles for InfiniMiner.

What are some good ideas on what I can do in the Minecraft mod "Biomes of Plenty" that's novel from "Vanilla" Minecraft?

Build something amazing. The Biomes O' Plenty mod adds over 75 biomes and plants, from ominous forests, to wastelands, to tropical rainforests. There will be a biome to complement every build you create, so make something cool! (My favorite biome is the Jade Cliffs)

What are some good step by step ideas to build stuff in Minecraft?

I’ll go over some mistakes I often make myself that need fixing. To start off, i’m going to say what should be very obvious to me.If you’re building a house, plan your interior, not just your exteriorI can’t even explain how many times I don’t do this. I like to build large scale houses, and they look extraordinary on the outside. When I go to do the inside however, I come out with next to nothing. So just plan a little bit. You don’t need to go full on with a blueprint, but just a general idea with what you will do with it.Make sure your blocks Complement eachother! This tip is directly taken from the man Grian himself, but not everyone sees his stuff. If your blocks don’t match, your build won’t look half as good as it could. For instance, take the common Oak Planks and Cobblestone. They match each other pretty well.(This one is very optional) Don’t build where it will rain. This is personal preference, but no one likes the loud rain sound in Minecraft. Unless your house is very big, you will more than likely hear the rain as your doing stuff inside. Again, personal preference here.So those are 3 simple tips for the builders of minecraft. If you want redstoning tips, you’ll have to ask someone else :P . Anywho, I hope these help you out is some way.Have a great day, mate!Link to Grian’s channel(thanks Quora for shorting the link :D )

Minecraft xbox "server" ideas?

I want to build a fun multiplayer game map for xbox but keep in mind it's not like PC servers. But it seems all my friends are making hunger games maps so I want something more original and fresh...any ideas? Thanks.

What are some good Minecraft spawn ideas?

Have your mind made up before you start. When you spawn in Minecraft you only have one day to either dig a hole to hid in, construct a makeshift shelter, or prepare yourself for the fighting that will ensue once the sun goes down. If you know what your going to do beforehand,  that first day will not be wasted and you will be ready to start your new Minecraft world. Although some things can change, let's say you spawn on an island in the middle of an ocean, no wood in sight, as long as you have a basic idea of what your doing, you should be fine.
