Minecraft Connection Error

Minecraft Xbox360: Connection Failed?

Lots and lots and lots of possibilities.
First, are you connected to a xbox party? If so, it's probably not your connection. If not, try these things:
1. Resetting your Wi-Fi router
2. Test your connection by going to Xbox Home > Settings > System Settings > Network Settings > Select network > Test Xbox LIVE Connection.
If it is not strong enough, you many need to move your Xbox closer to your router, or buy and amplifier for your Xbox.
If it IS strong enough, try
3. Check your membership. Make sure your gold membership is still valid. The easiest way to check this is Xbox Home > Social > Click on your avatar > Flip far right > Under membership it should say "Gold"
If it says "free" or "silver" that means your gold is expired and you cannot play online
4. Call Microsoft. Always a great last resort.

Minecraft: Friend Gets Connection Refused Error on my Server?

For a month now I have been trying to make it so my friend could connect to my Minecraft server. He doesn't have the cracked version and neither do I. I port-forwarded my Fronteir Westell modem/router to the port 25565 on my IP for the desktop that is directly connected to the modem/router. I gave him the external IP after I set up the server. I can join on the local IP with the port, but because he is so far away he couldn't connect with that. We both tried the external IP, but both of us get the "Connection Refused" error. When he is at my house he can connect with the IP of the computer putting out the server. I have set up the server multiple times and it still doesn't work. How can I get rid of this message and use the external IP address to connect?

I get this minecraft error when I try and connect to my server?

I started getting the same issue. I have been doing a lot of searching and reading about this issue. I run my own server off of the same computer that will connect to that server. It seems that the only thing that can be done is delete all of the files, and start a fresh server. I know that would suck especially if you have taken a lot of time working within the world your server has created. But, so far, that is the only thing I have been able to find. I am going to do that now and see what happens. I will keep you posted.

***EDIT***
I deleted all of the files (except for the server exec file) and I am able to log in. Yes, unfortunately, it is a new world, but it works! I hope this helps!

Why can I not connect to Minecraft[.net]?

I'm having a problem with Aether also. Every time I log into the launcher, it says "error connecting to Minecraft.net", and playing offline makes it lag bigtime.

How can I connect to Minecraft servers again?

It's difficult to say exactly what the issue is since there are so many potential points of failure. First off, I would probably check the firewall settings. Are you sure that your OS/Firewall software is not blocking Minecraft from connecting to the internet? If that's not the problem, then perhaps it could be a port forwarding issue. Do you know which port Minecraft uses to connect to the internet? The website Portforward.com has a great tutorial that can help you learn how to forward ports on virtually any router on the market.Does this problem persist with any other programs or games that you've tried? I know you said it happened with your torrenting as well, which could be an indication of the problems I listed. If other things work properly, it may help to isolate the problem. If those things don't help, I'm not too sure what it might be but feel free to update me and I'll try my best to help you figure out a solution. Best of luck.
