If you want a truly hard minecraft server, you can always try 2b2t. It’s a server where anything goes such as using hacks. This is the oldest server in minecraft that has a truly amazing history (including many “wars”). It’s currently going through another war between the veterans and the rushers. You can find out more from the leaders of the two war leaders. Just search on youtube FitMc (the veterans’ leader) or TheCampingRusher (the rushers’ leader).Note: You might not be able to get on because it has a few hour long wait to get on the server. This server was widely publicized by TheCampingRusher sparking the war.
Are Minecraft servers dying?
I don't believe Minecraft servers are anywhere near their death, but there certainly are some noticeable trends in how server communities are changing. As Ethan already mentioned, it appears that younger players tend to be the majority on network or minigame style servers. The older, more hardcore Minecraft players tend to enjoy smaller vanilla or semi-vanilla servers. Many of these servers are whitelisted because they don't want to deal with people griefing their stuff.From my experience on network style servers, it definitely feels like there's a large amount of players under 12 years old. While there is definitely not anything wrong with this, it does make me wonder where the older players have all gone to, since it felt like there were so many more just 2 or 3 years ago.However, I find it encouraging that there are so many young players since it means that Minecraft still has a living fan base. Children all over the world are in love with the game and play it on various platforms. Many of these kids will begin to develop an interest in PC gaming, and all these servers will be waiting for them.
