Misfire Cylinder 1 Help

How do I fix a misfire on cylinder 2?

First make sure you determine the location of #2 cylinder.A misfire just means that the ECM has determined that that particular cylinder is slacking off, so to speak. It is not contributing. So your code would be a PO3O2.Next thing you should do is determine if you have spark to that cylinder and how strong the spark is in kV. You should have anywhere from 30 t0 50kV spitting from the coil.If you have spark, then you have to determine if it is going into the combustion chamber through the electrode of the spark plug. The spark plug could be "bleeding" the spark away due to a cracked insulator or moisture between the boot and the ceramic portion of the plug.If spark is not the issue then we get into the realm of more in depth diagnostics. Is your injector "spritzing"? Is it injecting too little or too much? Do you have a scan tool that can tell you when the misfire occurred and under what conditions, called a "freeze frame" parameter ? Very useful. Is the misfire occurring at idle or under load? What is the static compression like in that cylinder compared to the other ones. What is the running compression? Can you do a "leak down " test to determine the sealing of that cylinder ? Are you sure that intake runner to that cylinder does not have a vacuum leak?. Does your car have individual EGR passages for each cylinder? Are they blocked ? V6 Honda's have small channels for EGR and when they soot up it can send the diagnosis  barking up the wrong tree. Most commonly misfires are caused by the lack of /or weak spark. But not always.

How do I solve a cylinder 3 misfire?

Misfires are flagged due to lack of contribution from that cylinder. Lack of contribution means that that cylinder is not producing adequate combustion or no combustion at all.Misfires are caused by lack or weak spark due to faulty plugs, coils , coil wires, distributor caps ( if so equipped).Or, fuel issues, no fuel or too much fuel or too much air ( vacuum leak). Fuel related culprits could be injectors, clogged or not pulsing due to internal failure or drivers in the PCM or wiring to injectors.More serious issues are engine internals such as valves not sealing. Usually exhaust valves. Or worn cam lobes, or broken valve springs. So, eliminate the easy things first. Verify spark and measure strength of spark with a cheap spark tester. You should have a minimum of 30 KV jumping the gap. Swap plugs and or coils to see if the misfire travels to another cylinder.Eliminate fuel and vacuum leaks  issues with a propane test. Carefully introduce propane to the affected cylinder.

Chevy cobalt 2008 cylinder 1 misfire help?

I switched around the coil packs, got new spark plugs and injectors, and I still have a misfire on cylinder 1. I decided to do a compression test and my other cylinders are at about 130 psi and my first one is between 40-70 going up and down. how do I go about to figure out what is exactly wrong? I don't wanna open it up and not know what I'm locking at. (I have a pretty good knowledge on cars but I'm not really familiar internal parts.) Thanks for the suggestion and help!

What does "misfire on cylinder 1" mean and how do you fix it?

not sure what engine we’re talking about or how this was determined , but assuming its spark-ignition (gas/petrol) type , then there are three main reasons for misfire . #1 low compression ; a valve leaking , head gasket leaking , or broken piston ring . #2 weak/intermittant ignition ; faulty spark plug , high resistance in plug leads , faulty coil , or faulty distributor if used . #3 wrong mixture ; faulty injector , vacuum leak . #1 problem can be verified by a compression test , #2 can be checked by interchanging plugs , wire and coil pack one at a time . #3 is a little more difficult , but injectors can also be interchanged , check vacuum hoses for cuts/holes or completely disconnected .

I had a misfire on cylinder 1 and 5 with the codes po301,po305 so i swap injectors 6 and 5 now 6 has misfire?

2008 Dodge Avenger Cylinder 1 Misfire?

I bought my car in Feb. 2010. Soon after I noticed some rough idling. Took it to the Chrysler shop and they reset the computer. Said that was the issue. In October, my check engine light came on. I took it to the shop and they said that I should replace my spark plugs. I was at 46k miles. I replaced all spark plugs. I also got a tune up and injection cleaner. An hour after leaving the shop, the light comes back on. I bring it back to the shop. They ask to keep it for a week. They call me a few days later to say it's my fuel pump and I need to replace it. They replace my fuel pump and the light is still on. They then say they stuck a camera down in it and apparently one of my pistons is now going out. Since the repair would be over $3000.00 and I have already put in so much, I go to a local shop to get a second opinion. The light is off again. Has been off for two days. The mechanic said nothing is wrong with my pistons but said to replace my gas cap. Replaced that yesterday. Went out today to fill up my tank and the light is back on. I am at the end of my rope here. I have invested so much money and I'm at the point of looking to replace the car, take a hit on trade in value and just get rid of it. I'm looking for other recommendations on what it could be. Any ideas?

Help! Misfire Cylinder number 1. 1997 Hyundai Tiburon 260,000 miles.?

I have a 1997 Hyundai Tiburon FX with 260,000 miles. All of the maintenance are up-to-date on accordance with the original owners manual. My plugs and spark plugs have 10,000 more miles left before I have to replace them.

Yesterday, my check engine came on and the computer read that I have a MIs fire on cylinder number 1. I checked the spark plug and the gap was still good and there's normal amount of soot on the tip. what could be wrong? it's also a disturbushionless ignition.

Thanks in advance.

Can bad o2 sensor cause misfire on 1 cylinder?

It sounds like you probably have an O2 sensor that is effected by your miss-fire. A miss-fire means that you are either missing spark or fuel or compression. It detects a rpm difference. So, check your plug and see if it is fouled or has a lot of carbon. Check your plug wire. check your coil pack or distributor. And check your fuel injector. If you suspect fuel injector than try a bottle of fuel injector cleaner with your next fill up and see if its better after that tank. If all are good than check your compression.
