More concerned with handling the money situation first, especially since I have proof of both

I missed a court date for no insurance/expired tags?

Typically, a missed court date means that the court issues a warrant for failure to appear.

In this case, it's not likely that the judge will just let it slide, as you've known that you should have been in contact with the court for a year. I'm guessing that if you present your story with sincerity and no excuses, the judge may just let you go home on probation for a while.

The court usually takes failure to appear seriously, so don't be terribly surprised if you end up doing a few days in jail, too.

What are the consequences if I missed my date of court hearing for I was caught without a driving licence?

The judge will issue a for your arrest. The warrant basically means police can arrest you and take you to jail, where you can either bond out or wait and see a judge the next business day. However, usually police will issue you a summons in lieu of arrest. What that means is you will be given a new court date around 10 business days from the date of the summons. You will then go to court on that day.

What happens if you miss your court date for driving with no insurance?

It will depend on the court policy and the judge. In some locales they will just reschedule it for the next court session and send you a notice. In others the judge will issue a bench warrant for your arrest for failure to appear. If you did miss it already I would contact the clerk of courts and ask them what the status is on your case, then take care of it as soon as possible.

What happens when you miss your court date?

Look on your ticket (if you still have it). There are two types of traffic tickets police generally issue; they are either for civil or criminal violations. On your ticket the policeman will have checked either 'civil' or 'criminal'. A civil violation is generally for minor traffic offenses such as running a red light, failure to yield - etc. A criminal violation is for more serious offenses such as a DUI, driving with a suspended license - etc. More than likely your ticket is a civil violation. With a civil violation ticket, if you don't show up for court, they will issue a default judgement against you, and will suspend your license if you don't pay it. They won't issue a warrant for your arrest for these type of tickets. If the policeman did check criminal rather than civil, they will issue a warrant for your arrest if you don't show up for court.

Contact the courts and explain the situation. It is in your best interest to pay the fines and get this resolved as soon as possible. After you pay your ticket, contact the DMV and see what steps you need to take to get your license back (if applicable). You don't want to get pulled over with a suspended license.... that will get you in a lot of trouble!

No insurance, proof of registration, and Failure to appear in court.?

I received a ticket on NOVEMBER 8th, 2012. For No Insurance or Proof of Registration.

I FORGOT to show up to Court on December 3rd, 2013. ($1,724.25 for No proof of Insurance, and No proof Registration) (393.10 Failure to Appear) total (Fine $2,117.55). The judge told me I could not make up my court date he said the $2,117.55 is made in stone. :(

Until I was told my License was Suspended
by an Officer that Pulled me over on

March 26th, 2013 for allegedly Driving with No proof of Registration, No Insurance, SUS License, and Supposedly going over 10 MPH.

However, I know I was not driving over 10 MPH because I was making a Left turn unto traffic, not to mention there was construction resulting in 2 lanes being taken away leaving 1 driving lane open. As well as, my car was behind operation two vehicles. I could not have been driving 10 MPH over 30 because I was behind cars. Plus I was not merged unto the one lane for more than 43 seconds in-order to pick up speed.
(I had my car Registered; Although, I didn't have insurance Until March 29th, 2013)

In the event that happen, I was in the midst of selling my car, on March 26th, 2013; I even explained to the officer that I am selling my car as we speak. He still decided to be an a**whole.

As a result, my car was towed, my license was taken, and now I had to go to court; On July 13th, 2013.

They informed me that I was driving with No proof of Registration, No Insurance, a SUS License, and Supposedly going over 10 MPH. As a result, they told me in-order to take care of the SPEEDING I would have to go to -Defensive Driving

The Defense Driving Class cost $205 which I have to go to on July, 27th 2013; I dont have $400 right now. Its July, 16th 2013 I barely have money to pay for rent. Im a college student that just moved to this state with no Job.

Under those circumstances what should I do?
I want to shorten my $2,117.55.
I want to get this speeding thrown out $205.
What should I do?

I missed my date of court hearing for speeding. What are the consequences and what can be done now?

You have not given full details. Usually over-speeding kind of traffic offence is discharged by paying fine on spot, but if you decided to contest in court then you have to appear and go through process where you claim that it was wrongly done.Else go to court next time and hire a lawyer (there are many usually near court complex itself) and pay fine when the case is called, and get a receipt or whatever document etc as proof that challan is paid and case is closed fully.

What happens if I miss my court date in San Diego?

I can tell you what would normally happen, but there are always variables in each case. It depends on the judge, the offense, the facts or specifics about the offense, etc. But, the judge under normal circumstances will issue a bench warrant in your name. And you will have an FTA recorded on your case. (Failure To Appear). A bench warrant just means that you didn't show up to court and the warrant will stay on your record until you show up or contact them or you are taken into custody because of some other reason. When the judge issues it, it's basically a heads up to police that if you come into contact with them by some other means (like being pulled over because of a traffic offense) they are to detain you because of the FTA. In some instances, they may even arrest you, book you into county jail and while in custody you will attend court for the FTA. Also, issuing the bench warrant doesn't mean they'll be out looking for you. It is just a flag on your record to get their attention when or if they happen to come into contact with you. This isn't to scare you, and in some cases it varies. This is the worst that could happen.People do this all the time, it's not as if you are the only person out there that's missed a court date. My best advice is to call the courts in the county you were issued the citation. Tell them you were unaware of the court date and ask them what the next steps would be to ensure they can see that you have every intention of being held accountable. More than likely, they will tell you how to obtain a new court date. Once you appear, the judge may ask why you failed to appear last time. Just be honest. If he doesn't bring it up, then that's good. If you ignore it and don't communicate with the court, somewhere down the road it could have a negative impact on you.Hope that helps.

What happens when you miss a court date for driving without insurance?

I am located in Delaware, so if anyone know the specific laws here that would be great. Here is the story: my boyfriend was pulled over about two years ago for having expired tags and expired insurance. He was issued a court date and didn't go (I guess he forgot or something...). Yesterday, he tried to register a car at the DMV and found out his license is suspended. He has no idea how long it has been suspended for... the DMV told him that he needed to call the court to set a new date. What kind of fines is he looking at? Have the fines been increasing because he missed court? Thanks in advance for any advice.
