More caffeine in the tea at the bottom of the cup?
Yes but the difference is not major.
Does caffeine float or sink?
I poured myself some cold coffee this morning that had sat for a couple days and it seemed that it was a bit weak. So I thought does caffeine settle to the bottom or float atop of your drink or does it stay constantly mixed through-out the beverage? Guess it wouldn't matter if I drank the whole thing, but still interested in anyone's thought.
Does Earl Grey tea have caffeine in it?
Earl Grey has and always will be caffeinated. It primarily consists of black tea leaves and always has. Black tea always has caffeine in it. A cup of coffee has 90 mg of caffeine, a cup of tea has 60 mg, and a cup of Earl Gray has around 40 mgs (figures vary depending on many factors, cup volume, brewing time, brand etc.)This is true for 'a cup' of your favourite brew, but if you were to analyse the raw starting material i.e. the tea bag and the coffee grains, you would find that a gram of tea has more caffeine in than a gram of coffee. This is true, when you make a cup of tea, you throw the bag (which contains some caffeine still) away, but when you make a coffee from freeze dried instant, you use all of it.
How much caffeine content is there in green/jasmine tea?
Green tea and black tea contain the same amount of caffeine, as both come from the Camellia sinensis plant. A standard cup of tea contains less than half the level of caffeine of a typical cup of instant coffee. One cup of tea contains only around 10-50mg of caffeine whilst a cup of instant coffee contains between 60-100mg per 250ml cup. Jasmine tea uses Green teas as its base so personally I wouldn't recommend having it before bed if you are sensitive to caffeine. I have Chamomile tea at home... it doesn't contain caffeine and is a very soothing tea to have before bed, you should try that instead.
How Much Caffeine Does Red Diamond Sweet Tea Have?
I think you should read the reviews: http://www.rateitall.com/i-894921-red-diamond-sweet-tea.aspx Sounds sickening! Either way a cup 8oz 250ml cup should have about 45 mg of caffeine in it. I'd be worried about the large amounts of children's laxative aka "splenda" used to sweeten it.
What has more caffeine in it, regular coffee or Turkish coffee?
When I drink Turkish coffee, I can actually go to sleep afterward. However, I can't drink regular coffee after 3pm or I can't sleep at night. If Turkish coffee contains the actual coffee bean in it (ground to a powder of course), and regular coffee is filtered, why is it then that the Turkish stuff, especially being much stronger than the regular stuff, doesn't keep me awake like the regular stuff? Things that make you go hmmmmmm.
What is the dichloromethane layer during the extraction of caffeine from tea?
Here is what is is. You have an aqueous solution of your tea extract from which you will extract the caffeine. In order to get the caffeine out you have to extract it into an organic solvent (in your case dichloromethane). Add your aqueous tea solution to a separatory funnel. Next add dichloromethane. Shake up the two immiscible layers and let them sit until they separate. The dichloromethane layer will be the one on the bottom because dichloromethane is more dense than water. Hope this helps.
What is the best travel cup for brewing and drinking whole leaf tea?
Chinese people like to drink loose-leaf tea from travel cups that look like this. There’s usually a removable metal sieve/“filter” thing that sits near the top of the cup & prevents you from drinking the tea leaves, but that still lets them expand at the bottom of the cup. You should be able to find something similar at a Chinese store in your area, made out of glass, plastic or metal.
