Does curly hair look better short or long?

LONG ! on me and in my opinion everyone. If you have small tight curls even more of a reason to have it long. I do notice the longer my hair gets the looser the curls get. I have had very curly hair for a long time. I was a bit past my shoulders and i loved it. NOw it is about halfway down my back. Instead of being very curly and bouncy it is more like beach waves. I LOVE IT! good luck

p.s. i just read the above answer...i do not know what kind of curly hair you have but i would DEF! not cut it into short layers at the top of your head or even the middle. My mom had me do that when i was younger. When my hair was wet and curled up OMG!!! FRIZZY AFRO !! i started balling in the salon i was mortified. My best friend who now works at a very nice salon STILL makes fun of me for that haircut til this day !! hehe 8)

Which is better, curly hair or straight hair?

I spent a good 10 years of my life trying to straighten my curly hair, only to have it dry and damaged from all the heat. I wanted to look pretty, to look just like the rest of the girls with silk straight hair. It’s funny how badly I wanted to sport straight hair that I completely missed the part where I was damaging the very same hair I wanted to look pretty. And boy, there’s nothing pretty about damaged hair.Even when I had them straightened, I received criticisms with regard to my hair. The worst being, “your hair looks like my pubic hair”. That hurt me so much I locked myself for days. I felt like death when I had to go out and meet people. I really wanted out.Years of straightening my hair finally took a toll on me. I woke up one day and decided, enough is enough. I had contemplated it for the longest time, but I finally found the courage to do it. I shaved my hair off.The transition was anything but easy. I struggled every other day. And I realised that I could shave my hair off, but they’d grow back. And then what? It was about time, I told myself. I needed to love myself. I needed to respect myself. “Embrace your curls Fash!” I told myself every morning. That was five years ago. Now my hair is fully back, and I keep them short so it’s easier for me to manage. I know whats good and whats not for my hair, and I take no offense when someone has anything bad to say. And guess what? Nobody has anything bad to say! At least not to my face.Once in blue moon I’d straighten my hair. But most of the time I just let them bounce. Acceptance is a big word. And I plan to stay committed to it.So my answer to this question?Neither. The fact we have hair at all. Wear your hair however you like it, but remember to nourish them and take good care of them. Love them as they are, embrace every strand of your hair. Nothing spells beauty like confidence does. Curls, straight, shaved, bald.I say, love it and own it!

Is it acceptable to tell a curly-haired woman she'd look better with straight hair, if she likely has curly hair because of her race?

The only time it's acceptable to share your opinion of what would make any woman (or anyone else) look better is when they have specifically asked you and you are their close friend, or being paid to comment on their looks.Otherwise it's never appropriate. You do not have a right to go around trying to "fix" everyone around you. It's busybodying at best and really overbearing or domineering at worst. If they want to know what you think, they'll ask, never fear; otherwise, they probably have a good idea of what they want to look like already. Nobody is obligated to look good for you, or by your standards of what is "most flattering".Doubly or triply so when you are advising a nonwhite person to change their racialized appearance in ways that add up to "be more white". For example, any black woman rocking a natural or coily hairdo right now in the US has made a conscious, political decision to do so, because not doing otherwise gets her strong pushback from both white and black bystanders.

In your opinion, does natural red hair look better curly or straight?

CURLY! =)

What looks more exotic curly hair or straight hair?

straight :)

What are some good products to make my thick curly hair less curly and more wavy?

Well unfortunately you can’t change your natural curl pattern or how thick it is, unless you were to ‘relax’ or ‘perm your hair which I don’t recommend because I’m 110% sure that your thick curly hair is already beautiful as is! I would recommend going to Walmart, or Target’s hair section and selecting a couple different creams and gels to try on your hair, I won’t lie that it takes a lot of trials to find the right product or combination of products that work for your curly hair, because what works for me, may not necessarily work for you. Also aways use a wide tooth comb when combing your hair and put in any creams or gel after you combed out your hair, and while your hair is still wet & always let the curls air dry. But anyways being able to learn to care for your hair and feel beautiful with your hair in its natural state is such an empowering feeling, you don’t have to conform or think that your hair is any less than someone else’s because it’s ‘thicker’ or ‘curlier’ and if anybody ever made rude comments based on your hair, they’re definitely not educated enough to know the importance and streangth that it takes for a women or anyone to overcome society’s thoughts on wavy or curly hair. We’re bombarded to think that ‘straight hair’ is better or looks more professional & it’s not true. We don’t need to conform. People who were born with straight hair wear their hair natural & just as is, and people with wavy/curly should have every right to rock the hair they were born with too. Embrace the curls, thickness, thinness, and/or bigness of your hair, learn to love your curls as is. You’ll find which products work best for you, which I promise you will because of how many choices there are now a days. It is such an amazing feeling of freedom & I love my curly hair more and more everyday and wear it ‘as is’ everyday in hopes of inspiring other people to do the same, I hope you also learn to love & care for your natural hair! All love, all good vibesYours truly, Jolina
