You are right, It was made by Flux Pavilion and just like previous EMT tunes It seems they own it and can release it whenever they feel like it. What are the most epic spiritual song that you know?
It's a Big Question you've asked. There are two ways to answer this, for me:1) With explicitly spiritual singers like Deva Premal, Jai Uttal,and the many Western clones of Indian spiritual singing, the gregorian chant movement of the 90's with the Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos and the famous Enigma songs; Tuvan throat chanting and African singers (I like this one especially, from a World Music Sampler), and this is not to mention the many other spiritual traditions I am not familiar with. I am more familiar with Indian spiritual music, which is all more or less by definition EPIC; but especially ragas- as in this example by the latest in a long line of Indian sitar players- and there are hundreds of full on traditional lineages of singers and musicians like the Bauls of Bengal), and lest we forget the highly influential music genius (he taught the Beatles) of India: Ravi Shankar and one of his daughters Anoushka Shankar. That link is to the full concert. If you don't think that's EPIC I don't know what will satisfy you. As a side note, one of his OTHER daughters happens to be Norah Jones. You can see both in this excellent video. There are a good number of famous Ravi Shankars in India, but this one is the one most influential of the #2 answer. 2) Western pop/progressive/metal music. In the case of progressive music, I find a LOT of epic spiritually-minded songs. So much so that I started an entire column on this topic alone, which covers the nature of these songs in CONSIDERABLE depth, analyzing the music and the lyrics. It largely depends on what you mean by "epic". My all-time favorite spiritual song is "Awaken" by Yes. It's also the apex of spiritual prog, in my mind; and happens to be Jon Anderson's favorite Yes song also. I often cry while listening to it. It's Super Epic, especially if you research the overall meaning of the song, plus the making of the song, with the massive church organs recorded by Rick Wakeman in the St. Martins Church, Vevey, Switzerland. Nevermind the guitars making bird sounds and the overall musicality of it was clearly meant to induce awe, from every instrument. I'll do a complete breakdown of this song alone in my column at some point.
