Motor Swap For 01 Celica

Best engine to swap to make a toyota celica faster?

Toyota Celica VS Honda Prelude?

Although the questions you asked are all based on mostly personal preference I will try to answer.

1. Celica
2. Celica
3. Celica
4. Prelude
5. Both can go either way (keep your mind out of the gutter....)
6. Celica

With that said I am partial to the Celica because I have owned one. A 1995 GT.
The generation Prelude after the 1996.... the 1998-2001 I believe.... are amazing cars and are in a completely different class than the Celica.

With everything I have told you I can also tell you this... The Prelude is faster in a straight line...
But the Celica is faster in the turns and the handling is unbelievable.

I broke out the rear end and made it chirp only once.... when I took a turn marked 25mph at 60.
Taking the same turn at 50... the car hugged it like a champ.

The Celica also has a close ratio gearbox and a rather large engine for the time for a 4 cylinder (2.2) so most of the time you wont even have to downshift to pass cars.

Toyota Celica Corolla 1zzfe engine blue smoke cloud after engine swap HELP!?

Bought a 2000 Celica GT 1.8 off of some guy and it needed a new engine.

Took it apart and saw that the guy ran it without oil, cylinder 1 rod broke, smashed through the side of the block, piston broke into a million pieces and out the side of the cylinder.

Shopped around and got a 01 Corolla engine with VVTi from someone who pulled it out of a corolla that was smashed by a tree near the trunk. I wasn't concerned about speed, just wanted it running and figured I'd get some better gas mileage in the process.

Engine went in fine. Started it up and it starts no problem but it can't idle and it also blows a MONSTROUS amount of whiteish, maybe blue smoke out of the exhaust. The smoke ONLY pours out about 2 minutes after starting the car. Then the smoke pours out no matter how many times i restart. BUT, if I wait 10-15 minutes and then return, I get another 2 minutes before the smoke comes out

Now, I've seen blue smoke from burning oil before. I've also seen white smoke from burning coolant. This is kind of in between. It smells a little like oil, but I'm not convinced that is definitely what it is. It definitely doesn't have the sweet smell of coolant.

Here's what I did so far. Compression tested even across all cylinders. I did a leak down to test the rings. Poured a bit of oil in the cylinder, retested the compression, no improvement/change in numbers. Oil is not milky, coolant looks good.

Now this is a huge amount of smoke. It will create a cloud in the road that will make visibility very low when run from my driveway. The only time I've ever seen that much is with a badly blown head gasket. But my coolant level isn't going down and neither is my oil level.

I should mention that a lot of oil ended up in the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe when the previous engine blew up. I can actually see a stream of oil coming out of the tailpipe.

Is it possible that THAT much oil is burning in the cylinders? Could this be left over oil burning in the exhaust pipe? Could this be water in the gas? It doesn't idle well but when the gas pedal is down the engine runs good, just smokes.

I'm running out of ideas here and any input is appreciated.

Thanks so much

Can I put a V6 engine into a 4-cylinder car?

If the car was originally delivered with both types of engines, it might not even be very hard. There are some special considerations though. The first generation of Saab 9–5 was delivered with three choices of engine (I’m leaving out the diesel engines, they shouldn’t be in cars anyway), a 2.0t I4, a 2.3t I4, and a 3.0t V6. The 3.0t was only delivered with an automatic transmission, while the smaller engines were delivered with both types. Converting a 9–5 2.0 manual to a 3.0 automatic is probably going to be more work than converting a 2.0 automatic to 3.0 automatic. Then, on the other hand, you might achieve your goals in much easier ways than complete engine swaps, depending on what those goals are. As original, the 2.0t has 150 hp and 240 Nm, while the 3.0t has 200 hp and 310 Nm. If the goal is to increase power and torque, a simple software upgrade to the 2.0t will give you 210 hp and 320 Nm, meaning you get more power and torque than the 3.0t, while retaining the better fuel economy of the 2.0t. Of course, the 3.0t could also be software upgraded, but it is a very strange engine that is very hard to get much extra power from, so you’ll probably increase the power only from 200 to 220 hp. If you want more power than a simple software upgrade will give the 2.0t, changing to a bigger turbo and more open exhaust can make that little engine yield much more power than the weird 3.0t could ever hope for. Strangely, the 2.3t was sold completely original in a version with 260 hp and 350 Nm, noticeably more than the original 3.0t, so the Saab 9–5 was faster with the strongest type of original 4-cylinder engine than it was with the V6.However, if your goal is smoothness rather than outright power, the V6 would probably win every time.

What kind of engine can I put into my 2007 Toyota Corolla CE?

For the cost, time and labor needed, i would just get a different car to start with..
Also depending on where you live in the country depends on if you will ever pass inspection again after you do this work.

The Answer to your question is not simple, because it is not as easy as just pull and drop..
All will require some kind of modification, and assuming you want to keep reliability for a daily driver, gas mileage, and an automatic are all things to keep in mind..

If you need to keep an automatic, you need to keep what is in your car right now.. or (1zzFe), they might be able to retrofit the TRD Supercharger designed for the MR-S. although, it may kill your transmission if it is automatic.

If you currently drive stick;
You can go 2ZZ-GE with a 6-speed out of an 01 Celica GTS (Which would require only small mods)
If its not a stick, your car would require some serious modifications prior to the swap.. and again would not be worth it..

Here is a list of Modifiable Toyota's that are little known..
1. Toyota Cressida - which is a 4 door car that shares the underpinning of a supra, easy to swap a 7mgte into and can be a rocket in sling-shot clothing.
2. 1987-1991 Toyota Camry All-Trac - Easy swap for the 3SGTE which is the celica All-Trac drive train. It would be an AWD rocket with corolla insurance.
3. Toyota Corolla, all years up to 1997 have some great engine options that can make them a blast to drive.
4. Toyota Tercel/Paseo, All years, they all have the option for the 4age and the 4efte or 5efte swaps which can make the little car a rocket to drive..
5. 2001 and prior Toyota Tacoma 2wd, its an easy swap to the 2, or 1JZ motor.
6. First Generation Matrix XRS and only the XRS, which came with the 2ZZGE motor, and with a little work can put down 300HP.

Here are a few that are well known (pricey)
1. Toyota Supra - 1986 and a half and newer are fun with the turbo option.
2. Toyota MR2 1st and second generations are fun, but the first gen has issues with rust so watch what you look for, make sure you look under it.
3. Toyota Celica GTS, only the GTS, and all years offer some excitement, my personal favorite is the 1986.
4. Toyota Celica All-Trac If you find one.. Be certain you are willing to shell out what it will require to fix, because chances are it will need a lot of work.

Valve Clearance for 2001 Toyota Corolla (engine: 1ZZ FE)?

Intakes valves= .006"-.010" or .15-.25mm
Exhaust valves=.010"-.014" or .25-.35mm

Is the Acura RSX a good sportscar?

The RSX is certainly fun to drive and much more fun then a Celica. I have driven both. The RSX has sharper handling and revs higher.

An RSX Type S would be amazing. With some modifications, they are quick.

I have driven a modified one with headers, exhaust, intake, no cats. It was quick. I measured the 0-80mph time in 6.5 seconds, meaning the 0-60mph time would have been under 6 seconds. That is as fast as a Mazda RX-8, Infiniti G35 Coupe, and base 97-02 Porsche Boxster.

Could a toyota 2jz-gte i6 supra engine fit in 2004 toyota tacoma reguler cab?

if your engine is toast and you have one of those engines just laying around, and you're asking if it is suitable swap and just fall right in there and work, definitely NO!

if the above be the case and you have some (a lot of) fabrication skills and wanna have some fun,

i'm going to say a definite *maybe*.

these never had anything longer than a 4cyl in 'em. that said, it's a truck. that said, it won't mount to the existing transmission of any config in a taco. that said, again, it's a truck. anything *maybe* possible with the right fabbing. even w/ fire wall tunnel mods for a longer block that sometimes accompanies mods like this.

i do know this, it will be in no way a plug and play app. it will definitely be an exercise in fabrication for physical fitment and drive train adaptability/compatibility to say the least.

this could be fun, or a nightmare.

oh but terrence, i only said nothing *longer* than an I4. just didn't see the need to intro that engine in this issue. but anything to get the OP to understand. it's all good.
