Should I get a motorcycle or car?
I have a truck, car, and Motorcycle. The truck and car are both used, but the bike is Bran Span kin New! So you can tell where my priorities stand. But I would not have a Motorcycle as my only means of transportation, even if you have arrangements with your folks for getting a ride in bad weather. A bike is a lot more fun and can be a lot cheaper then a similarly good shaped car off the bat. But maintenance on a Motorcycle is far more expensive then a car, and they need more done to them then a car. So in the long run a bike the same cost as a car will cost more in the long run due to this. My first bike needed a new back tire at only 4500 miles, and despite it being a small beginner bike the tire itself was over $100 just for the rubber! Try bringing home something from the store larger then a couple gallons of milk and your screwed, especially on a small beginner bike. And like the one above me sez, your dates probably won't want to ride on the thing "All" the time. Good luck, and take a Motorcycle Safety Foundation rider course before buying a bike! Save your life, I'm not kidding you on that one.
Is driving a car easier than driving a motorcycle?
UThe answer is both yes and no.In case of a car.It is easier than a bike because, you cannot manage to properly balance a bike. You stay inside a car with all creature comforts like an A/C, music system, all kinds of infotainment system. It is definitely safer than a bike. You travel in comfortable cushioned seats with back support. You are comfortable in long journeys. You can keep travelling in bad weather. You are safe from all the dust and outside cr#p via air conditioning. You don't have to worry about luggage to carry because you have storage space separately and you don't have to worry about balancing them or carrying them.It can hold more people. In case you have a flat tyre you have a spare wheel. In case of a bike, It is easier becauseIt easier to travel in traffic. You can use it to make quick runs to the nearest fast food stalls. It runs cheaper in both maintenance and fuel efficiency wise.Is is cheaper than a car obviously. With good touring bikes you can travel long distances. It doesn't need a lots of space to park. You don't need to worry about the precision while making narrow turns or parking it as much as you have to in case of a car.It is some times just fun to ride in open.Learning wise I think car is easier, as you will have more concentration on the driving part and you won't have to worry about balancing .In my case I was very bad at clutch control and with bikes it was just too hard to balance it and keep control of the clutch simultaneously. Learning to drive a car cleared my concept of clutch. Later on I learned to ride a bike much easily.Cheers!
Is driving a motorcycle easier than a car?
Riding a motorcycle is easier *for me*. You are not me. A car is basically a point and go. You use the right foot to go or stop and the big wheel in front of you to control the direction. A motorcycle has the rear brake under the right toe, the front brake is the right hand lever. Left hand lever is the clutch, the left foot is the gear shifter, up to up shift and down to down shift. The right grip rotates, and it is the throttle control. The left thumb operates the turn signal. Most bikes you have to cancel the turn signal manually, again with the left thumb. The left thumb also operates the horn(s). At low speed you steer left to go left. At higher speeds to steer right to go left. Getting everything working together is as difficult as walking. After you have been doing it a while no thinking is required. Watching a toddler learning to walk is funny. Watching a newbie learning to ride is scary. Me to new rider cousin: "Are you going to crash?" "NOPE!" week later: "Are you goind to crash again?" "Probably."
Is there a car dealership that I can trade my motorcycle in for a car?
Sure, most will accept a motorcycle as trade. However, don't expect even close to what it's worth as your trade-in value. Unless it's something that the dealer knows will sell on his showroom, it'll probably end up wholesaled. The economy has forced quite a few dealers to avoid accepting bikes for trade. Only one way to find out... call and ask.
Do you have a neighbor with a loud car , truck , or motorcycle ?
Yes, I do have neighbors who have all of those noisy vehicles. I've got a noisy motorcycle myself. The vehicle noise doesn't bother me at all--it goes away rather quickly. It's the loud parties and blasting music (that's what they call it anyway) that bother me because you never know when they will stop or who's going to be silly enough to think they can park in my yard & go to the party next door. I solved that problem pretty easily though--just put the dog in the front yard--she tends to scare them away.
Is it dangerous or bad to jump start a motorcycle with a car or car battery?
As long as both vehicles have the same voltage battery (12V) then it is perfectly safe to do this, AS LONG AS THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING. Reason: The car or truck, if it is not running, is only going to send 12V. All you are doing is ensuring a full 12V goes to the motorcycle starter. No problem. Now, if the car is running, that is a different issue. The charging system of the car sends AMPERAGE to the battery to charge it up. The car system sends a higher amp charge than the motorcycle battery can handle. So yes, you can damage your motorcycle battery this way, but only if the car is running.
