The nylon exterior however still absorbs water, hence the dark patches that develop.Moisture normally still gets in through the seams, as stitching requires seam sealing with tape or lamination to make it waterproof. Also, they have open lids or zippers which allow water in.Currently there are no truly waterproof packs in the TNF lineup.
