I asked her if we could grab coffee, as I was interested in being a more serious filmmaker and she was exactly the kind of person I was hoping to meet.Not only has she been able to show me how much I have to learn about budgeting, scheduling, distribution, etc., but she has helped me find other people with real world experience in Boise. She also helped me break down the budget for my first serious short film, which is still in preproduction. (Yes, we jumped on the Kickstarter bandwagon.)These people are in your community. Regardless of the direction this project takes, if you are serious about making films you need to find these people and learn from them. You'll jump hurdles you didn't even know were coming.Also: I read your treatment. This seems to be an animated film. Are you the animator/VFX technician? If so, that's really exciting! If not, make friends with someone who can be, or the budget is likely to outstrip your available resources, especially if it is your first film. Either way, if you stick with it you can get it done.
