Moving To Alberta From Ontario. Help About Drivers Licence

How long is an Ontario driver license valid for?

I think it's 5 years right?

On my license it shows :"4a ISS/DEL. 2009/08/24" (the date i got it?) and to the right... "4b EXP./EXP. 2010/06/08" .. doesn't that mean it will expire on that date?

it doesn't have an expiry date anywhere else so i was just wondering..

If you have a suspended drivers license in ontario, can you get a license elsewhere in Canada?

No. Its not possible,.

First off, to get a licence in another Province you need to turn in your old one. If you tell them you were suspended then you won't get the new one. If you tell them you lost it or your dog ate it they will look you up on the system and see its suspended and you won't get a new one for your new Province.

The ONLY thing you can do is serve your suspension and go again.

Can I apply for an Ontario driver's licence now living in Quebec?

The law in any province that I have lived in (including Ontario) is that you need to reside in the province where you have your license.  Ontario will not issue a license with an address in Montreal. Usint your friend's address is illegal unless you actually live there.   If you have a learner's permit in Quebec, I think that time would be applied to you driving time before getting your G2 license.  You should probably contact the Ontario Government about transfering the time.

What is the easiest way to get the P.Eng. license in Ontario province?

I will be moving to Canada as an immigrant and I would like to get the professional engineering license as soon as possible. The details of my qualifications are:
I am a bachelor’s degree holder in Chemical Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, Pakistan.

I have around seven years of experience in conventional steam turbine and combined cycle power plant, desalination and de-mineralization plant and water treatment plants including sewage water plant.

Also if somebody can suggest any web site advertising power plant related jobs?

Can you hold 2 Driver's Licenses in two different provinces?

I currently live in Alberta, and have a drivers license for here. I am moving to Ontario for University, and Legally, after 60 days of living there, I need to get a Drivers License for there. The thing is I am only living there for 8 months, coming back to Alberta for 4, going back for 8, and repeating this for four years. Will I need to get a new license every time i switch provinces? Or can I keep both of mine for wherever I am living? Thank you guys so much. I am 17 if this helps any.

Can I use my California drivers license in Alberta, Canada?

You can drive here in Alberta with an out of province or out of country(depending on the country. USA is okay, see link below for accepted countries) drivers license if you are just visiting. If you are moving here, however, you have 90 days in which to change it over to an Alberta drivers license.Depending on where one’s driver’s license was issued, they may require more training and/or testing to get an Alberta license. Since yours was issued in California, you would not need to and could just change it over with the right documentation.More info here: How to Exchange Your Licence for an Alberta Licence | AMA

Driving record complication moving from Ontario to Michigan?

The best possible way to avoid receiving a penalty for an alleged violation would be to plead your case in court or have an attorney plead it for you. Having an attorney plead for you may cost you $, but if he/she can get you off or a minimal penalty it may be worth it depending on what's on your record now. It sounds like when you use the term 'conviction' (you really haven't been convicted yet) that you don't have much of a case. If that's the how it is then you might as well go ahead and transfer your license at your earliest convenience. The Michigan code says 'most states have reciprocal procedures'. That means that Ontario, even though it's a Canadian Province will probably notify Michigan of a penalty if you are 'convicted'. Michigan is required to apply the Michigan penalty for the violation if punishable by Michigan law, i.e. points, suspension or whatever depending on your current driving record. Of course there's a slim chance Ontario will nott notify Michigan so you may want to transfer asap. It can't hurt. If you don't pay your fine in Ontario you probably would get hit bad if you try to get a license there again. You could also have a Canadian warrant issued for you. Not good. So go ahead and transfer your license asap and pay your fine if it comes to that, and if you're lucky they may not even notify Michigan especially if the transfer takes place well in advance of your court date. Good luck.
