Are single Indian girls open to sharing a rented flat with males? This would be a good opportunity for gender sensitization and cost sharing.
What most people would think after reading this question is most Indian girls especially those brought up under the influence of the so called Western culture would be ready if only their family was as open minded as them. Not true. I recently started working and had to shift to Gurgaon and a friend of mine suggested this option. I spoke to my friend a girl in her early twenties and a guy who was also in his early twenties and guess what, while the girl was skeptical as she knew there would be huge hue and cry in her family, the guy I was talking about was outright shocked. He tried to reason with me saying about needing privacy beyond one’s bedroom and all that. So, I guess it depends on person to person and as far as the society is concerned I do believe that not all are going to be okay with such kind of an arrangement, I mean with movies like PINK ( a Bollywood movie ) in theaters people especially your family are bound to be concerned about you and your safety which of course comes before anything. So, if the girl thinks she can trust the people she is renting a flat with, then why not?

How much can I save in Abu Dhabi earning 3700 AED/month?
I would be working as Front Desk Officer. I am going by myself. The company can provide housing but not living expenses such as electricity, water, gas, internet, phone etc. Also no transportation and no meals provided. All in all, I would have 3700 AED for all this but I am wondering is this enough and how much will I be able to save monthly on average? They also offered me 4700 AED if I find accommodation myself but I have never been in the UAE and I am a single lady so I find it a bit intimidating to search like that. Also is this the average salary for front desk? Seems really low to me...

What is the cost of living in Abu Dhabi? Is 4,800 AED enough for a single person?
In less than AED 5K in hand, you cannot take personal/own flat on rent, in Abu Dhabi. You need to take a flat in sharing, which is easily available (legally not allow to live in sharing in few buildings). It will be best to cook at home, will be cheap for you, although generally veg and non veg food is available everywhere, but will be expensive for 5K salary holder. You need an internet connection and pay mobile bills, which will cost around you under 1K (if internet is sharing, the cost would be less).Another major expenditure is water and electricity, which is fairly not that costly.Last but not the least, the transportation. Use the buses, if you can commute. Taxi fares are very expensive and you monthly budget will shake. Metro is not available in Abu Dhabi.Healthcare is very costly affair here in UAE. Make sure, your employer is providing you the medical insurance, which is common. Most of the companies (even small scale organizations) use to provide airfare and insurance here.It will be fine, if you don’t have any liability of your family. If you have, you can send some good amount for them.Don’t expect the big savings for yourself in AED 5K salary per month. For more queries, please comment.Enjoy!!
Is bachelor sharing room (bed space) legal in Dubai. If not who is fined? The bachelor tenants or the leasing tenant/landlord?
Sharing Accommodation in Dubai of any kind is technically not permitted unless you have the Permission of the Municipality and concerned Authorities. You have certain places around Dubai which are mainly known for sharing bed spaces and room for Bachelors and families.Talking about Fines :The Flat Owner or the Landlord is normally not fined. The lead tenant, if he has taken the permission of the Landlord to Sub-Lease and is complying with the minimum square feet requirements, then only he won't be fined. The Sub-Tenants are not fined however in the extreme situations when the laws mentioned aren't complied then, they may be asked to evict at the immediate.Sharing is also NOT allowed between unrelated people of the opposite sex.Sharing is NOT allowed in family-defined areas and villasMinimum area required by the Dubai Municipality.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (ON DEMAND)However this is the law but if you see the practicality of Dubai, then sharing is going to be continue forever not only with singles but also with families since the salaries that the companies in Dubai pay to 70% of their staff are not upto the mark and people normally earn in the range of AED 2000 to AED 12000 who prefer to live in a shared accomodation. And this is the harsh reality which can not be ignored. As far as the government is concerned, RTA itself provides accommodation to its taxi drivers in a shared apartments with 6 -10 people living in 1 BHK, which is illegal but still being done by the government itself. As far as sharing is concerned its currently happening in 80% of the areas of Dubai. One company which caters the needs of all those who are seeking for accommodation in Dubai is HOPO Homes, their few services include :Ready to shift standardised rooms, studio apartments, sharing and private rooms and bed spacesAffordable Pricing and Payment Plans.Direct access to the property owner.Quick Roommate / Flatmate… etcNOTE : click on the link to a blog, which you help you out regarding the same question.www.hopohomes.com/blog/3-vital-facts-bachelor-know-sharing-regulations-dubai/Justin Abraham
What is the cost of living in Abu Dhabi?
It depends on a lot of things. If you are OK living in a studio which is not on island or in the main city and happy to live a little off island then you save a lot on rentals. No studio Apartment comes for as expensive as 50-80k a year, until and unless you want to live in an area like Reem Island. A decent studio will come under 50k easily. This is the biggest expenditure in Abu Dhabi, assuming you don't have kids because schooling is also not cheap. That being said, Indian schools are not expensive at all. Your monthly grocery should not cost you more than AED 2000 per month. I am taking the liberty of stating this amount because we as a family of 3 never manage to spend more than that ;) Water, Electricity and Gas bills are on consumption basis and again assuming that you decide to live in a studio or 1BHK, it will not cost you more than AED 150 per month.Internet, Sattelite and landline no. come as a bundle and you are looking at a minimum of AED 360 per month package for that. Besides, you have your mobile bills. The biggest initial expenditure will be obtaining a driving license. Assuming that you DO NOT have a 4 wheel driving license in India, you are looking at a minimum of AED 5000 to be spent to get your license here. Meanwhile, you can travel either by taxi or bus. Buses are very cheap and will take you to any location in AED 2. If you plan to travel by taxi, you are looking at a monthly expense of at least AED 2000. Ask your company for some transport allowance.Over and above these basic necessities, it all depends how many times you want to eat out or go for movies or other such activities. We have friends you are living conveniently in a salary of AED 15000 per month and I know a few people who are living in a salary of AED 10000 per month. You define your lifestyle and live accordingly. If your wife also works, that is an added bonus!
Can I survive with 2000dirham salary in dubai? no accomodation?
Yes you can survive, but only bachelor status. House rent is the unaffordable factor in Dubai nowadays.
What is the cost of living in Dubai?
Unlike most, I wont brag about Dubai’s luxury instead I will get straight to the point by explaining the cost. Your question is very general, but I will try my best to answer it. Now, cost of living in Dubai varies, but for the ease of understanding I will break down the cost into three different classes with earnings.Low class: A person who earns between Dhs 2000–6000 a month, either shares a room for Dhs1000 or pays Dhs 3500 for a studio in rare cases. Drives a Toyota or Honda and is not able to save anything out of salary as whole of it goes in covering necessary expenses like rent, transportation, food, internet and phone bills etc. In this category you’ll find most expats to be Filipinos, Pakistanis, Indians, Bengladeshi, Sri Lankans, Egyptians and many others.Middle class: earns between Dhs 7000–30,000 a month. Lives in his/her own condo, is able to save money after deducting all necessary expenses. Drives a four wheel, Lexus or even a German in some cases. Also, the cheapest studio in Dubai rents for about 3500–5000 /m.If a person can afford that and is still able to save then he or she’s in middle class. This categories is predominantly filled with Indians, Western Arabs, Europeans, Americans, Emiratis and in some rare cases Pakistanis too. Also, people in this category get benefits.Upper class: earns between 35,000–3,00,000. Either lives in a condo in Marina or in villa in Jumeirah. Drives Germen, is able to pay rent between 15,000 to 30,000 monthly. Lives the same life as describe as how Dubai is described on TV. You’ll only find, Indians, Emiratis, Western Arabs and Westerners in this category. These three categories will give you a general idea of earnings and the type of lifestyle a you can afford with it. Now, most sources won't tell you this, but if you ask from anyone who is able to give a realistic answer will agree with my explanation. Not many people will tell you this story instead they will talk mostly about the glit and glamor.Edit (09/02/2018): Thank you for all the upvotes and comments. I haven’t been to the UAE in two years so I’m assuming the cost of living has probably increased especially with the arrival of VAT this year.
