Is dating a non-Muslim haram?
Surat No 2 : Ayat No 221وَ لَا تَنۡکِحُوا الۡمُشۡرِکٰتِ حَتّٰی یُؤۡمِنَّ ؕ وَ لَاَمَۃٌ مُّؤۡمِنَۃٌ خَیۡرٌ مِّنۡ مُّشۡرِکَۃٍ وَّ لَوۡ اَعۡجَبَتۡکُمۡ ۚ وَ لَا تُنۡکِحُوا الۡمُشۡرِکِیۡنَ حَتّٰی یُؤۡمِنُوۡا ؕ وَ لَعَبۡدٌ مُّؤۡمِنٌ خَیۡرٌ مِّنۡ مُّشۡرِکٍ وَّ لَوۡ اَعۡجَبَکُمۡ ؕ اُولٰٓئِکَ یَدۡعُوۡنَ اِلَی النَّارِ ۚ ۖ وَ اللّٰہُ یَدۡعُوۡۤا اِلَی الۡجَنَّۃِ وَ الۡمَغۡفِرَۃِ بِاِذۡنِہٖ ۚ وَ یُبَیِّنُ اٰیٰتِہٖ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّہُمۡ یَتَذَکَّرُوۡنَ ﴿۲۲۱And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he might please you. Those invite [you] to the Fire, but Allah invites to Paradise and to forgiveness, by His permission. And He makes clear His verses to the people that perhaps they may remember.There is no mention of Ahle Kitab in this Ayat, so initially it was permissible with them but as they changed their books in words and meaning both, they lost their Ahle Kitab status. Accordingly, it is now not permissible to marry anyone, other than Muslims within, subject to the condition that one converting to Islam voluntarily can be married.Let me be a bit realistic to ask why the instant question itself when Muslims within are not married freely till conditions of sects and sub-sects are fulfilled.I have taken dating and marriage one and the same to answer this question. My answer is not for those who make difference between the two.
Is dating haram?
Depends. If you mean full dating like kissing, hugging, sleepovers and sex then definitely it is haram.If you mean that you are together EMOTIONALLY but you don’t even touch each other nor talk about sexual stuff. And you don’t do anything that is haram. You are just together and plan on getting married in the future then it’s not haram. Why? because you are not doing anything that is considered haram in Islam (like holding hands or kissing,…etc). It’s like you are friends but agreed that you are together (just by words) and you do nothing more than that! Then where is the problem here? But your intentions also matters, you have to have an intention of getting married in the future OR this would be considered hooking up and not dating and this as sure as hell is haram!I once read a quote in Arabic which means “Dating is not haram, it’s what you DO in it that makes it haram”. I guess i explained this quote already above.
Is online dating haram?
Online dating is Haram as it involves communication with strange people of the oppisite gender and this can lead to many more activities that are also Haram. Add: I wonder how people are so sure that thease sites are a total scam, but they mention nothing about it being Haram, which is more to the point.
Why is dating in Islam Haram?
Dating in Islam for good intentions is NOT haram. In fact arranged marriage is not part of Islam, it is an Arabic culture, but most people have dropped it now. You should date a man before marriage, but no touchy feely or sexual desires or any of that. And your parents should know the man and know that he is a good honest man and is not playing around with you. Scotgirl160 I like how you came to a "conclusion" but show me where in the Quran it says dating is haram, and I'll give you a medal and a hug ! It's just that us Muslims do not date anyone that we see in a bar or a hair salon, and good Christians are the same, I know many Christians who are not allowed to date until they are mature enough and ready to make their own choices.
Some ppl say dating is haram in islam???
I didn't know my husband nor his family from before. I mean we had seen each other in passing but never spoke except for saying "Assalamu Alaikom". Of course I smile at everyone. Some think that is bad and some don't. It is just my nature. I am happy and friendly by nature. And he asked a friend about me and got my wali's phone number. He told my friend that I was always smiling and he thought I would be very pleasant to have as a wife someone to come home to and share his life with. Then we met 2 or 3 times in the presence of my wali and wali's family and 30 days later we got married. He is a very good muslim Alhamdulilah. I don't regret marrying him. I love him with all my heart. He is wonderful. He is a very good provider, we have a nice home, he is VERY loving and caring. He makes me feel like I am the most wonderful & beautiful woman walking this planet. He teaches me more about Islam and I don't know what else to say except he is just amazing. And we didn't date. I am so glad he inquired about me the way he did and the way this relationship was done.
Why is dating haram in Islam?
How do you get to know your spouse? If I would have an arranged marriage, what if the husband and I will not get along at all? What if our interests and habits are very different? What if there are no feelings and love in the marriage? Of course I trust in God, but he also has given me logic and the ability to decide for myself. Also, God has given both men and women to choose their spouse. If dating and getting to know the person before marriage is haram then how can I choose my spouse? Thanks!
Is dating a christian haram ?
im a 15 year old girl and i'm muslim I love this christian guy he is 16 and we kissed etc we love eachother but I cant date him because he is not muslim I'm not looking for marrige and I don't wanna have sex it's just that we love eachother as in teen love my mom doesnt approve she told me he is christian but i'm sure even if he was she wouldnt let me ... I dont understand ... she keeps telling me to focus on my studies we came here for that blablabla im a good student and daughter everything that happens I tell my parents .... so why can't I date him she also says im young but she had a muslim boyfriend at my age and thats ok ???
Is Dating Haram In Shia Islam in Modern day times?
In some general aspects like your case there is actually no difference in the both shia and sunnis because it came in quran. I have also lived in places that dating and having bad relations out of marriage is completely legal but I didn't fall into sins because of good family, strong belief that I have in god, so I pray, fast etc... and obey what God told us because its for our own good and sake. Many people do many things that are very bad,do you have follow them? If they are falling in hell do you follow them? This modern day times is everywhere around the world, some places are legal and some places illegal but it doesn't mean islam allows it. These kind of relations will have short time of enjoying and long term suffering in addition it is the worst sin that will not easily be forgiven by god K final answer, its completely haram and is said to be kabire sin, in persian (gonahe khabire) if you are from Iran Build your afterlife by doing positive things, we are like passengers in this world, we all have to leave one day so I hope you not falling into sins because the first step you will take for a sin, be sure satan will make you to take the other steps and making sins will be very easy for you. God have putten you in a big test and I hope you would successful come out of it, so be away from these kind of relations, and again is completely forbidden in Islam
