My 7 Month Old Son Has A Loose Stomach And I Don

How Much Does Your Stomach Go Down After Birth?

I left the hospital still looking about 7-8 months pregnant. I slowly shrank down over a period of 3 weeks. That being said I still have weight to lose 7 months later. I would hold off on buying any tops right now because you just don't know. Your belly may shrink but your breasts may increase in size enough that you will still want a bigger size top. I still wore my maternity tops for a few weeks post-partum.

My 7 month old has a fever but no other symptoms. What should I do?

Do nothing.

"WHAT TEMPERATURE CONSTITUTES A FEVER?
Normal temperature – 97 to 99 degrees (36 to 37.2 Celcius).
Low-grade fever – 99 to 100.9 degrees (37.3 to 38.3 Celcius).
Common fever – 101 to 103.5 degrees (38.4 to 39.7 Celcius).
High fever – any fever over 103.6 degrees (39.8 Celcius).

SHOULD I TREAT A LOW GRADE FEVER?
No. Low-grade fevers are helpful in fighting off infection. You should only treat a fever when it is making your child miserable. Treat your child, not the fever."

...rectally? Why? It's 2011; there are all sorts of quick-read thermometers, thermometers suitable for armpit, ear, mouth use; you don't have to go around sticking stuff in your kid's bum. Particularly if she's 'a little warm' -- there's just no need to know that the temperature is exactly XX.X if it's barely a fever.

My 2.5 month old is into size 6-9 month clothing...is this normal?

It isn't statistically the norm, but it isn't that rare. I don't know how he could have been in newborn clothing for 7 weeks though when newborn size ends at 8 pounds? You sure you don't mean size 0-3? If I had an 8 pound baby I would skip the newborn size entirely.

newborn - 5 - 8 pounds
0-3 months - 8 - 11 pounds

Also you don't say how much he weighs now.

Why do I still look pregnant, and my baby is 7.5 months old?

You probably have Diastasis Recti. In Layman’s terms, your ab muscles have split from pregnancy, and now there is not enough muscle to hold all your guts in. This gives you the “pregnant belly” look.Do you look like this pic, and have pretty much lost your pregnancy weight? This was me after twins. I am nursing, so was almost back down to pre pregnancy weight. I saw a physical therapist and she told me I had it, but there are self diagnosis ways you can do to see if you have this condition without having to go out.The easiest way is to lie on your back, slightly lift your head and then feel around the middle of your belly, starting at your belly button with your fingers. If you can fit more than around 1/2 finger or 1 finger in, you have diastasis recti. I was able to fit 4 fingers inside my “gap”. You’ll know the gap because on each side you will feel the hardness of the muscle; there’s alot of good videos on you tube about it if you want more in depth info. There are specific work outs you can do to help the condition, however you will have to always do them and be aware of how you do certain motions such as lifting and getting out of bed and chairs. I did try this for a couple of months, but opted for surgery so that I could regain full functionality. My back was killing me, I had tons of GI issues and over all just didn’t feel good. I’m pretty active, and if you are too, you may want to look into this.If you’re interested, you can check out more surgery info such as expected recovery time, cost, etc here Diastasis Recti Repair Surgery: Pt1 – The Crazy Outdoor MamaLet me know if you have any questions!

How easily food can be given to 8 month old baby?

Thanks for the A2AAt 8 months, your baby is just discovering new flavors and tastes. Try to introduce one type of food at a time for the baby to get familiar with the new taste. Be it a vegetable, fruit or a new dish -its good to give the new food to the baby at least 2-3 days in a row consistently for them to get used to it. They might resist the first couple of times before they start showing an interest.Another idea is to switch between two types of food when you are introducing something new. For example, prepare your baby's favorite food as well as the new food you want them to taste and switch between the two. Give one spoonful of the baby's favorite food and another spoonful of the new dish. It is also important to be patient when feeding, your baby can sense the mood you're in and respond accordingly. A baby in a relaxed and happy environment is going to be much easier to feed. Stressing is only going to upset both of you.If the baby is proving to be very difficult to feed, its also good to have a family feeding time. Babies love to imitate adults, leave them on a high chair and have them watch the rest of the family eat. Eventually, they're are going to want to join in to. Try to give them the food so they can feed themselves. While it may prove to be one of the messier decisions you will make, letting your baby feed himself can be the quickest way to get your baby to eat new food. Many parents report that previously rejected foods were quickly devoured simply by letting their baby self feed and is definitely worth trying should all else fail. Finally, the most important point that sometimes can be missed is - check if your baby is actually ready. Maybe your baby is simply not hungry. When feeding, be sure to pace out meal times appropriately. If your baby is not yet ready to eat because he is not hungry enough then he will very likely knock back the food served.Goodluck! :)

How do I give cerelac to my 4 month old baby?

Ceralac is not a good option for 4 month old.Their stomach is not ready to digest it . It is good to start after 6 months.Cerelac is good and it was introduced in market as optional semi solid food for baby.Cerelac is life saver when you are travelling or when you are not well enough to cook for your baby. For few kids, it has done wonders in gaining weight and fulfilling their appetite.Let’s talk about why you want to use cerelac. If you want to be fully dependent than that’s not a good idea as sometime it causes constipation in kids. After six month you can start withmoong daal pani or moong daal puree cooked with a pinch of salt and haldi(turmeric powder). You can go for apple puree, if he/she don’t like than try with honey or jaggery.Atta halwa or semolina or rawa and atta mix halwa is good option.Vegetable stalk like palak, pumpkin, tomatoe etc.Mashed potato puree.Oats halwa or little sweet kheerTry to give as much as home cooked food as they have more nutritious and healthy. One more thing you have to keep in mind, keep an eye on your baby taste, try in little amount. If he/she likes than go for it or change the recipe , never force them as their baby tooth might get in.many cases it has been seen that few kids are found of sweet and some salt.If the baby is not co-operating with spoon try to feed moong daal pani with bottle by making the nipple hole a bit bigger.Rest is up to you.Have patience,as a happy baby is healthy baby.

What should a baby's stool look like at 2 weeks old?

I have a two week old as well! If you exclusively breastfeed the stool will be runny. I've had to supplement with formula and my baby's stool has even been loose. The stoll is supposed to be loose...yellowish in color and seedy. If it's loose enough to be running out of their diaper I'd check with your pediatrician. Otherwise, if your baby appears to be healthy and color or attitude hasn't changed...your baby should be just fine. =) Congratulations!
