My Afro Isnt Growing And My Hair Keeps Falling Out How Do I Stop It

Im african american and my hair wont stop falling out. it keeps falling out in clumps I NEED HELP FAST!! ?

Hair loss is caused due to many reasons such as lack of vitamins, minerals or iron in the body, age, pollution, heredity, stress, lack of sleep, hormonal imbalance and illness. It is said that that losing almost100 hair in a day is normal. If you lose hair more than that then it's an alarming sign. Usually hair fall in normal quantity is normal as even they have a life and grow back again.
But if they are going through the roots and you can see bald patches on your head then its high time to go to a doctor to find out the reason and get the perfect cure for it. Its only when the situation is rally bad, you need to go to a doctor otherwise its very much in hand to tackle the problem of hair fall. Some other hair problems as dandruff, uncleanness or split ends too tend to break the hair. It's very important to look after the hair well. One needs to eat healthy food, regular cleaning of the hair, drinking plenty of water, sleeping properly to keep the hair healthy and shining.

Always keep your hair clean. It will protect them from dandruff, itching and hair lice, which ultimately results in hair fall.
Always use the shampoo(i suggest herbal essence it's amazing) and conditioner depending on your hair type.
Give regular massages to your scalp and hair with lukewarm oil at least twice a month. You can choose coconut oil, olive oil or almond oil for your hair. You can even mix these oil and apply the solution on your hair.

Use treatments every week like applying 2 spoons of Castor oil and one egg in the first week, then avocado and jojoba oil with a little bit of olive oil the next week, apply henna on your hair it's very good (don't apply heat on your hair)
Brush your hair using a wide comb

Hope it works for you (i also have the African american hair that used to fall alot but know i have the smooth curly hair, and the falling reduced alot lately)

Does hair stop growing after a certain length?

Yes, hair will stop growing at a certain length. Hair will only grow to a certain length and once the hair follicle has reached its life span, it will shed the hair. So yes, hair will stop growing at a certain length because the hair will fall out. This is why, for instance, a man's pubic hair does not get all the way down to his toes... Hair also grows quicker when it's shorter than when it's longer. I learned this in forensic biology last semester.

As for the head hair, I think it's possible that it slowed down in growth and might not necessarily has stopped, since hair can get relatively long. I suppose it also will depend on your genetics.

Hope that helps :3

Why did my afro stop growing?

It is HOW you style or what chemicals you've used on your hair. Since I started posting YA HAIR, this is what I put at the end of ALL my responses, and there's a reason why that is . . . I've met people whose hair stopped growing or having hair falls: "I know hair. I have over 4 decades of hair know-how. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy hair down to my knees. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80's & 90's. I've known people in their 30's whose hair stopped growing from ironing their hair in the 70's."

Even hair oil. It does NOT make hair grow, it does not make hair thicker, it does help keep the hair moisturized, that's about all it does. Anything else they say on the label, it is to attract your attention. It is a billion dollar business and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse'.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Maharashtra is ready to go on record saying that most manufacturers in the Rs 3,000-crore Indian cosmetics industry are rampantly misleading consumers with tall claims. This affliction goes beyond hair oils. FDA has found that from face creams to soaps and other items of personal care, cosmetics companies are taking the general public for a ride. The industry, of course, sees the whole issue differently.

Does hair dye make hair grow faster?

No, but it can slow it down or make the growth stop for months. No one else will tell you this. I don’t know why but I cannot find any information on this online, and I even asked a hairdresser and she said something like meh, it was just stress or poor nutrition. And no, it wasn’t.I bleached my hair myself one year ago and it fell like crazy. Besides that, it stopped growing for half a year. It only recovered after I used all kinds of natural egg masks, castor oil mixed with sunflower oil, but what helped me was a keratin/milk protein hair mask from the brand Kallos (I think you can find this in Europe only, not sure), it also made my hair very curly, it wasn’t curly since I was a child, wow. My hair is straight normally. My hair started growing 1–2cm a month or even more.I tried a black hair dye last week, and my hair grew 1mm in 1 week, which would be 0.4–0.5cm by the end of the month. I think my mistake was that I dyed it myself and I massaged it a bit into my scalp. I did this with the bleach too. Now I could do it much better, which is why my hair still grows a bit.I don’t advise you dye/bleach it at home. I don’t advise bleaching because it damages the hair more. Lots of dying make hair lighter, and eventually it will become blonde or gray. I recommend temporary Henna hair dyes, those always made my hair beautiful. I wish I knew this before!

My Afro is falling off someone help!!!?

I've had it on for over a year now and it's starting to look bad. I relaxed it once. every time I comb my hair, it sheds really bad. I wash it daily and comb it whenever I'm going out. I could pull out a strand so easily I won't even feel a thing when I do. Any recommendation or is it ok for it to shed it's still growing taller though. I just want to stop the shedding. Sometimes when I use my hand to brush across my hair, it sheds about ten strands. Most of my friends want to see me relax it but I just love the Afro cause it fits my oblong face better than braids. I know Afro is played out but it I like my hair.
