My Alt Tab And All Application My Default Open As Minimize.

Quicklaunch button to minimize all windows, show desktop??

You can recreate the shortcut using the following method, but keep in mind that you can also minimize all windows by holding down the Windows key (between Ctrl & Alt) and pressing either the 'm' or 'd' key.

The icon is actually a small windows script which you will need to recreate in notepad. To start notepad, do one of the following:

Start > Run > type in 'notepad' & click OK
-or-
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad

Now type (or copy and paste) the following 5 lines of text (and ONLY these lines) into notepad:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Once done, save the file by clicking File > Save. There are three important things to remember when saving the file:

1. Name the file 'ShowDesktop.scf' or something similar. MAKE SURE you use the .scf extension or it will not work.

2. Make sure you change the 'Save as type:' option to "All Files" rather than the default text document.

3. Remember where you save the file! You may save it anywhere that is convenient for you, but I suggest somewhere out of sight such as C: or C:\Windows.

Once you've saved the script, close notepad. Now open the folder where you saved the file (If you saved it in C:\Windows for example, open My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Windows). Find the 'ShowDesktop.scf' file and drag it to the quicklaunch area of your taskbar (the small icons next to the Start Menu). This will create a shortcut to the script which will run whenever you click it.

Good luck!

Why doesn't OS X maximize the minimized windows of the apps I call with cmd+tab?

Command Tabbing is a carryover of a Windows shortcut to help ease the transition of PC users to Macs, so it's a reasonable assumption that Apple should also mimic the behavior of most PC Apps to maximize the window(s) that exist for the Application switched to. However, the Mac OS approach has a pretty established routine of its own, which is to keep window positions and size alone unless the user specifically changes them.

My full screen games keep minimizing when they start up. I am unable to play at all. What can I do?

Today I turned on my computer, logged in, and booted up Maple Story just like any other day. I was playing for about two hours when it started to lag a bit. I decided to reboot my computer and try again. This time, it would not work properly. The game loaded as normal. Once it fully loaded, it minimized. Whenever I try to open it, it will once again minimize. I figured this might just be a problem with Maple Story, but it isn't. I tried Warcraft III and Halo. Both also would not open. I've been looking around for technical support but have not found an answer. Updating my graphics drivers does not help. Instead, it worsens it by forcing my computer into 4-bit colors at a 640 by 480 resolution. Could anyone aid me in this problem?

What is the use of multiple desktops in Windows 10?

Multiple desktops is just a way to run several desktops on a single monitor. Some people connect two or more monitors to their computer so that they can double the desktop real estate. These computing enthusiasts can then view a spreadsheet on one monitor, for example, while viewing the other to write a report about the spreadsheet.Called virtual desktops, the Windows 10 desktops can be swapped into view, letting you shift your work from one desktop to another. That can be handy for people with small monitors who want to toggle among several sets of adjacent windows, for example. Instead of juggling windows, they can just switch between desktops. To create virtual desktops and work between them, follow these steps:Click the taskbar’s Task View button and then click the words Add a Desktop.A click or tap on the Task View button, shown here, and the screen clears, showing thumbnails of all your open windows. In the bottom-right corner, shown here, you see the words Add a Desktop.Click the words Add a Desktop, and a tiny desktop thumbnail immediately appears along the screen’s bottom edge, shown here.Click the thumbnail of the new desktop, and your second desktop fills the screen.The thumbnail expands into a new desktop. The new desktop is a replica of your original desktop but without any open programs or windows.That’s it. You’ve created a second virtual desktop and moved to it. Windows keeps your other desktop tucked away until you want to switch back to it.Some people love virtual desktops. Other people find the whole concept needless and confusing.ReferencesHow to Set Up Multiple Desktops in Windows 10

Alt+tab is not working properly in excel?

There should be no problem with Windows switching between any of the opened applications that are running when you use the shortcut key combination of ALT+Tab.

There is a nice little PowerToy available for download that is called TaskSwitch. It is a bit more useful for seeing which application you wish to switch to. You can get it from Microsoft's web site. And it may also show you what is going on with your current problem.

But if you just want to switch between open Workbooks within the MS-Excel application (when more than one workbook window is open), then try using the combination of CTRL+F6.

Some useful shortcut key combinations:

ALT+TAB
Switch to the next program.

ALT+SHIFT+TAB
Switch to the previous program.

CTRL+W or CTRL+F4
Close the selected workbook window.

CTRL+F5
Restore the window size of the selected workbook window.

F6
Switch to the next pane in a worksheet that has been split (Window menu, Split command).

SHIFT+F6
Switch to the previous pane in a worksheet that has been split.

CTRL+SHIFT+F6
Switch to the previous workbook window.

CTRL+F7
When a workbook window is not maximized, perform the Move command (on the Control menu for the workbook window). Use the arrow keys to move the window, and when finished press ESC.

CTRL+F8
When a workbook window is not maximized, perform the Size command (on the Control menu for the workbook window). Use the arrow keys to resize the window, and when finished press ESC.

CTRL+F9
Minimize a workbook window to an icon.

CTRL+F10
Maximize or restore the selected workbook window.

Game crashes after changing/minimizing settings. help?

You need to look for a text file within Silent Hill Homecoming root folder on the hard drive where you installed it, usually it is located on C:\Program Files\Konami and navigate to SH Homecoming folder. You have to open a file in there that has the word "settings" on its file name and is a text file. There is something-like line there that says fullscreen = 0, change zero to 1. If you change it to 1, it will make your game back to full screen.

ALso, be careful when minimizing SH window, or using Alt+Tab during the game. The game is crashing if you use minimize windows, for example, checking email or looking to a walkthrough. Also, the PC version has lots of bugs in it, the console versions are better and more stable.

What keyboard shortcut do you use often, but most people don't know about?

Here are a few I use, all from Windows 7, but will probably work with other versions of Windows:ctrl/shift/esc to open the task manager.alt/space then M to move the current window.alt/space then N to minimize it.Windows key and the arrows to change window size. Up & Down move through minimized/normal/maximised, and Left & Right change from left half of screen <-> normal <-> right half of screen.If your current window will not reappear when you click your mouse on its name in the taskbar, try Windows + Up twice to maximise it, then, if that works, drag the title downwards with the mouse to restore “normal size”.Windows E opens the file explorer.To use characters that do not appear on your keyboards, you can enter the MS-DOS code if you know it. For example, to get ½ hold down Alt, press 1 7 1 on the numeric keypad on the right of the keyboard, then left go of Alt. You might have to turn Num-lock on first for this to work. ¼ is 1 7 2 . For the Windows character set the number must have a leading zero. £ is 0 1 6 3 .Alt-Printscreen will copy the current window to the clipboard as a bitmap.
