Asus transformer prime tablet charging port broke?

How do I fix the charging port on my Samsung tablet?

Both David Ecale and Karl Smithe beat me to an answer! They're both correct. The machine needs to be repaired. The only thing different about my answer is that I would advise you to NOT do the job yourself. Definitely let a professional do it. When you work with electronics of this sort, there are hundreds of things that can go wrong. If you don't ground the thing properly, or if you don't anti-static yourself and your workspace, or if you don't remember the exact order of the reassemble, etcetera etcetera etcetera, you can and will brick the device, never to be revived. Is it possible that it's still under warranty? If so, you won't have to pay. If not, get a quote before deciding if you want to proceed. (And if you've rooted the machine, don't mention it. The techie doesn't care if it's rooted. And being rooted isn't the cause of the charging port breakdown. But being rooted might void the warranty. So just be silent about that.) This brings me to a different point... Backups. We all rely on our electronics so much. And we don't anticipate the day they die. An unrooted Android tablet can't be fully backed up. But a rooted one can. I use TITANIUM BACKUP to do a weekly backup of everything on my device. It's automatic. And I save it to my Dropbox. If you do backups, it's essential that they're not in the device itself. If that thing is bricked, there's no delving into the innards to retrieve your life. All the best.

How do you fix a broken charging port?

You got two or three options:Only an option if you're good at soldering. Buy a replacement port, de-solder the original one (best choice using a hot-air rework station), then solder the new one back on, good as new. This option is not worth considering if you are not already well-practiced with soldering or have the tools, as the chances of getting it wrong and making it worse than it already is high (such as damaging the PCB pads and therefore never again being able to reattach the port).Send if off for repairs. There are pople and companies who will do this kind of repair, including the manufacturer or one of their authorized servicers. And it's usually cheaper and faster for you to send it off for repairs than to do it yourself unless you already have the equipment and experience. If you have the 2013 model Nexus 7, then you have wireless charging built-in. So ditch using the port completely and just get yourself one or more wireless charging docking stations. They tend to go for as low as $15-$20 for a decent one.

How much does it cost to repair a broken mobile screen in India?

It depends from where you repairI own Moto g5 plus. Accidently one day i dropped it from my pocket and it broke the touch. Although everything else was working fine.It feel bad to roam around with broken screen.. So, i decided to repair it.I contacted customer care of MotoThey told me that i would have to replace touch and display together as they come together as folder.I asked the rate for the folder and it was for 5–6k. As they do not repair it separately. One fine day i went to Gafar market in karol bagh (mobile repair king in delhi).I enquired about the price and came to know that they could repair it separately i.e broken glass onlyThey told me a price of Rs 1200.I would not suggest to do that from there as they sometimes remove original parts from mobile and put local parts instead.I recommend janakpuri west. There is a mobile market too. Even though price a 100 rupees high. They agreed to take responsibility of repairing it and that too in front of me. It costed me Rs1300. Quality of screen was great.I got it repaired within an hour. They can repair any broken screen.I hope this help who have broken screen and suffering from insufficient account balance.

HELP! my android's charger plug-in won't work...?

if you have no other way of charging it then youre kinda out of luck, its broken and it wont work until its repaired , a damaged charging plug should not be expensive to replace, what will cost money is the time and skills of the repairman, f.ex it will take a lot more time to disassemble and assemble the device than the actual repair... , if you have those skills you can try to repair it yourself and just get a new plug or find the piece that fell off and repair the one you have. Of course these devices are VERY fiddly and there are a lot of very fragile parts inside, so if you never repaired something like that before its unlikely you can repair it and get it working again , you will probably tear off some ribbon cables and ruin it or cause a cheap repair to become a very expensive repair. you might want to look for someone with experience in repairing phones or laptops.

How do I charge a Nexus tablet with a loose charging port which isn't working?

Your charging port is damaged. Holding the cable at an angle helped make the broken connection for a while, but prolonged use of that method just leads to more damage until one day it just doesn’t charge any more.If you’re lucky, your Nexus Tablet has wireless charging capabiltiies, in which case you just have to go buy a wireless charging pad (and possibly receiver, depending on whether one is built-in or not). Then forever more charge your tablet wirelessly. If your tablet has a removable battery, you can buy an external battery charger and an extra battery, and keep swapping the battery out to charge it.If you don’t have access to the either of the above options, then unfortunately you’re left with only one option: send your tablet to get repaired.

Why do micro USB chargers for Android phones break easily?

Most times it is that you yank and pull on the cables, constantly and it breaks them. Worse it breaks the micro USB ports on the phones. Most newer models are replaceable but not by the consumer of course. Some models they are soldered to the mainboard, and require special soldering tools to replace, and again not consumer replaceable. There are a few models of phones, mostly Samsung, A few Motorola that offer wireless QI charging pads, or you can purchase 3rd party chargers as well as cases that offer battery chargers for a lot less than the cost of replacing the charge port. (Most of the time). A couple of tablets, My Nexus 7 for example also offer QI charging.Wireless charging even in your car, is a much better idea, keeping the physical factor out of play.Samsung Galaxy phones many models do offer QI charging built in or with an optional pad that installs in the models with removable backs. S6 for example.Other phones you can get battery built in to the case, so that offers 2 solutions, both a built in boost charger, and it charges via its own microusb port, but is repleaceable at lower cost that phone repair, on models that do not have replaceable charge ports.Iphone older models have the magnetic chargers, but most modern ones do not. Those also you can go with the battery case solutions.Funny that NO Iphones have QI charging, which Apple one would think would adopt. For the future we will have Witricity, which offers charging within 25 feet allowing you to just be in a room with Witricity and your phone will charge. But until those are being sold, we have to rely on old methods.

How much does it cost to repair a damaged charging port on a laptop?

I plugged in a USB pen drive and it shorted out the port and the Asus computer USB3 charging port that supplies 2A powered down. Nothing I did got it up again. So I thought why not use the parts and dismantled it taking everything apart. I decided to see if I could still charge the battery and connected the power to it and a light came on.. Sp I attached more and more and it started working.. This has happened a few times and each time I have to take the battery out as well as the backup lithium battery and put it back again and it starts working again. Otherwise it acts dead.. On A Dell it wont charge the battery unless you use an original dell power supply.Just saying.. depending on the system, they might use some safety circuits that make it appear like the computer is not working. If the charger is working then it is difficult for the charging port itself to go bad. Unless you broke it off.. And if it did go bad electrically then the parts might not be available since it requires special parts only the company service center might have. When my network port went out, Dell replaced the entire motherboard twice.. It cost as much as a new computer but in warranty they replaced it free. After the first replacement I found that the external screen res was lower and I asked the tech and he said well thats as high as it goes to HD and not FHD.. But the original had FHD but he did not believe me. The second replacement because the SDcard slot did not work on the replacement and I got FHD again.. I did not update the display drivers because when I did it originally, it went to HD and no matter what I did, I could not get FHD again.. Even the old original display drivers made no difference. reinstall and full wipe all did nothing.. Some people might have had problems and Dell decided to lock it on HD mode.. rather than the tech support.. So still using the old display drivers I get FHD on external monitors and dont even know what the updates do other than lower the resolution..As you can see, it is not just a hard ware problem.. Software also plays a huge role in the sense that you think its hardware.. But it is a software problem entirely.

My Motorola phone charging port not working what to do now?

Hold on my friend, take a deep breath and relax. Charging port malfunction can occur due to many reasons. It can be overcharging or due to slight leak from the battery. Also heat is major contributor to electric devices. Using genuine charger or not does not matter. If your phone is within warranty, then they cannot charge you for repairs. The max they can do for you is to replace your current phone with a new one. If they insist you to pay, try negotiating, like a badass. Remember, charging port and a charger are very delicate piece of electronics. Any damn thing can damage it. Its usually no ones fault.
