My B.e Is Running Can I Give Admission In Iit Through Gate

Does IITs give direct admission to students under AIR 100 in GATE?

There is no rank rule, this depends on IIT and courseIIT bombay, IISC, IIT Madras, IIT kgp offers direct admission based on Gate scoreWhereas IITD, IITK considers interview. No matter u are AIR 1, u will have to pass the interview. Also course dependent. Like in IIT Bombay there is interview for RA(Research assistanship) course which is like MS 3 year programme, IISC DESE, Nanoscience course which also considers written and interview (in DESE first shortlisting is done based on Gate score for written test. U have to go IISC campus for the written test in april. The next day interview is there for candidates who are selected in written )So there is not rank criteria.

HI there, yes it’s possible to get admission in iits without gate, but for that you must require 8.0 or more cpi other than that you have to give written test and will have to face personal interview.as you not written your particular branch, i m giving some information about my own branch CSE ,in written test there would be require same knowlwdge as in GATE EXAMINATION because course is simillar,so it is better to prepare for GATEI HAVE PUT SOME BRIEF INFO ABOUT THE WRITTEN TEST,i hope it would be useful yo you.Written Test DetailsA written test will be conducted for all candidates . The test will be of 2hrs duration and will consist of two sections:Programming aptitudeComputer scienceThe Computer Science section will assume GATE-level knowledge of Computer Science and Engineering. Is it compulsory to write GATE exam to get M.Tech admission in India if I have passed B.Tech with 60%?

No..its no at all compulsory. But if you are thinking to do masters in India, then GATE is the best. Even if you spend a year in preparation, no problem, go for GATE.With out GATE??1.Career aspect: First thing you can't get into well reputed institutes like IITs, NITs, and some Govt colleges. When you done with you are M.Tech, the college from where you have done your masters is very important. It matters a lot in initial stages of your career. Most of the private colleges in India for name sake they are providing M.Tech degrees, but they don't have required lab facilities and well qualified faculty too, so what is the use obtaining degree from such universities??2. Financial aspect:You have take care all financial needs by yourself. If you have cleared GATE, you will be getting stipend of 12400 pm,that too in Govt institutes you will have very less fees. Do you know?? IIT Kharagpur tuition fee is 5k per semester, including everything ie food+Hostel+internet+medical etc... it comes out 33k per semester. You wont get such low fees in anywhere in India. Actually any GATE qualified , if he takes admission through GATE in any AICTE approved colleges should stipend of 12400 pm, but it never happened in reality. You know its all government, no need to explain our system. My advice, if want to do M.Tech, do it in well reputed colleges through GATE. If you are  just thinking to get a M.Tech degree, then do it some private colleges. All the best :)

My son got All India Rank 118 (Civil Engineering) in GATE 2013, what are the best opportunities?

THEME OF STUDY ( NOT ONLY FOR MONEY )
Dear,
Thank you, am also fine like you then dear please am one 20 years experienced power electronics engineer from that my suggestion to you is all engineering fields are good in all countries not only in india means the feeling of good depends on almost busy in job with more interest because what you got job is fully related to your studied engineering. what i want to inform to you is please take the branch of engineering for study to be any thing but very good back ground support by some body for best future

Mtech or MS?? confused due to job opportunities in the industry of EXTC?

.............M.Tech in India or MS in US? The answer to this question according to my understanding is US is a good option. As even a university with rank around 300 will have a one or two good faculties members who studied at top universities during certain level of their educational qualifications. At least they carry that culture with them and can be helpful for the students to think differently and confidently. Job opportunities in US are more, as the competition is less than when compared to India.

If I have an admission letter from top NITs or IITs and some university in US with ranking around 200, I will go for M.Tech in India. As NITs and IITs have all top companies of the world in every domain for campus recruitment with a 200% placement figures. No university in the world has this kind of placement statistics. This will also open doors for me higher education in top 50 universities in US with a scholarship which otherwise is quite difficult.

Let me come to the first question. “M.Tech in IITs or MS in top 50 Engineering Schools of US?” The answer is quite simple and straight, MS in US top 50 universities (with a scholarship) is a better choice. To reach there either you should be a fresh IITian, Some top 20 institutes in India, or already have a job experience in on of the top multinational companies like Microsoft, Google, and Yahoo…etc.

Getting into either IITs or Top 50 universities (with a scholarship) need lots of hard work and luck. With hard work and consistent try to get admission into these heavens of education one at certain point of time can be there. But I rarely saw someone with luck alone reached there. For M.Tech in IITs you have to prepare for GATE, take time to study for it. Need gather best GATE martial, solve previous questions papers and try not to be less than 99 % (percentile). On the other hand to go to top universities in US, you need to prepare hard for GRE and make sure that you won’t get less than 1400, write a good statement of purpose and run around to arrange good recommendations. After everything wait for admission committee decision, once you get an admission letter run around the US embassy to get visa. This all process make you understand that easy things don’t pay you much in life, so take a stand and work hard and pray for good luck.

Do backlogs affect my admission into an MTech at IITs?

No.But, in PSU’s backlogs will affect your selection.

Which IITs offer admission to an MTech programme purely on the basis of your GATE score?

Seats for post graduation in IITs are jointly handled by the depatments you apply and the Management. Mostly the department selects the candidate and the management fecilitates the admission process. So the department can select you on whatever basis they want. Take IIT ROORKEE for example, biotechnology admits on the basis of GATE score and interview while nanotechnology admits only on GATE score. There are many departments here which use GATE score alone and some departments have a written test and interview.Best thing for you to do is, download the admission brochure and look for the selection process of the department you are applying for.I am not sure but IIT GUWAHATI has many departments which admit M.Tech mostly with just GATE score (counseling process) ,again it keeps changing from time to time so go through the brochure.Im inserting a screen shot of my interview call letter. So sometimes the department mentions just interview/written test on the brochure and you will know the process through the call letter.

What should I prefer, an MTech from the IIT or to join a PSU?

Since, you are talking about PSUs and M.Tech so I presume that you don't have much interest in research and your graduation is not from IITNow comparing M.Tech and PSUs1) Its depend upon your way of thinking if you want job security and low workload then go to PSU.2) But if you want to learn various new technical thing related to your branch then go for M.Tech and get a job in an MNC. 3) If you want to be an entrepreneur and start your own company then also I would like to say you go for M.Tech (although you can start your company without M.Tech but in IIT you may get help from several people like you)Now let's talk about your future in both placesa) For Short duration (2-3 yrs)-PSUs is good if you need money urgently but promotion in PSUs is not good, In the private company you have to work hard to get the same salary.b) For Long duration (10-11 yrs)-In PSUs you may irritate because of way of working in govt job and also there are lots of politics in PSUs which can frustrate you (I have personally experienced even promotion in PSUs depend upon your relation with your senior, not your performance) while in private company you will be earning lots of money (maybe 5 times of PSUs) and also promotion in private company depends upon your work.So finally I would say if you want job security and pension then go to PSU and if you want creativity and innovation with some amount of risk then go for M.Tech and privateand also, if you have an interest in teaching then M.Tech is better and P.hd. is best for that. So choose your future after proper thinking over it.Anytime you can switch from M.Tech to PSUs and vice-versa by writing only one exam- GATE! GOOD LUCK !
