My Baby 9 Month And Crawl With Bend Leg And Unbend Leg

9 month old baby dragging one leg when crawling?

Hey! I thought my daughter was the only one... My first daughter (now 4 years 10 months) didn't actually crawl... she looked like a hurt soldier dragging one leg... from 9 to 11 months that was her way to move by herself... at 11 she started to walk with help and at 14 months she was walking by herself...

She is so intelligent, very smart and social kid and a few days ago she took a test to enter a bigger school and the result at McCarthy's scale was she is 6.6 years as cognitive age...

So, I would say there is nothing to worry about, every baby is different, though it's good that you ask the doctor to check everything is in order.

My baby crawls funny?

Hmmm... That is very weird and interesting. I am not a doctor, but I have two questions:
1) Has he EVER crawled normally without shoes on?
and, 2) Has he injured his left foot recently?
I think babies compensate like the rest of us when hurt (limping when injured cuz it makes us not hurt). The only difference is that your baby is too young to tell you that it hurts when he uses his left foot.
From your observations, I would guess that your kid has something wrong with his left ankle. You should get an MRI when you visit your doctor next week to make sure. If the shoes he is wearing when he crawls normally are not broken in, then they may be restricting enough to keep his ankle in check (much like a cast). I would definitely bring those shoes to the Doctor's office with you when you go.
And, finally, if you really want the doctor to take this seriously, you should call ahead and schedule more time with him/her. Doctors tend to make appointments for check-ups in 15 minute intervals, meaning the don't have enough time to spend with you if you have an issue. I would call ahead and make sure to schedule at least a half hour of time with the Doctor so that way (even if they are running behind schedule), they will have the time to really evaluate your situation (instead of having you schedule a longer appointment next week, etc.).
P.S. If your child's MRI looks normal, my second thought would be to ask the Doc about the shape of your baby's head. If it is flat in the back from his crib, he/she may have some brain development issues. It is very common nowadays for babies to have brain development issues due to the position in which they sleep in their crib. Though, most Doctors catch this in the early stages and give your baby a helmet to wear so their spinal fluid stops building up in the cranium, it can tend to be over-looked until your child begins to favor one side of their body over the other OR has issues with dizzyness.
Anyway, it is easily cured and does not result in any permanent damage. They will just need to wear a special helmet for a few months and then they will be as good as new. Just as smart, just as well-adjusted, etc. No special needs, etc. The helmet just trains the brain to grow in it's proper position, that's all.
Hope this helps!

My baby crawl with one leg up?

She started trying to walk at 8 months old and hated crawling, now at 9 months, she's finally crawling all over the floor, but the funny thing is that its not on both knees, one knee is on floor and other is on foot and she crawls really fast! cuz of the other leg is on foot and pushes it really long and fast....i tried to put it down and have BOTH of her knees on the floor to crawl but she stops and cries....
should i let her go and crawl what she can?
will that be a problem?

Is it bad if a baby drags one leg while crawling?

As long as she has equal strength in both legs, she's fine. If you lay her on her back, does she kick with both legs? If you push on her feet, does she push back equally with both sides? If you stand her up and support her a little, can she support weight on both legs? My daughter crawls sometimes on her hands and one knee and one foot, it's just a funny little thing she does. A little boy I used to babysit for crawled with an 'army crawl' kind of way... one leg out behind him, with the other leg coming up along side of him and using it for leverage. Crawling is actually not used in the developmental charts, because it varies so much between children (and some kids never crawl at all!). If she doesn't start pulling up on the furniture in the next couple months, your friend might want to mention it to the pediatrician just to be safe. Good luck and good for you for being concerned for your friend's daughter!

Crawling with one leg out?

my son is crawling well, has been since 5 1/2 months (he is 7 now) when he gets going sometimes he sticks his right leg out and does sort of a "crab" type walk. I asked our Parents as teachers lady what she thought of it and she said to ask my dr but we dont go back until 9 months, and she said it could just be the way he crawls. I am a bit worried that something may be wrong with his leg or something, but when he stands/sits and everything he seems fine, and he doesnt do it all the time, only about 1/2 the time. have any of you other mothers seen this?

Baby looking between legs?

I have never heard of that one. But my grandma has constantly told me old wives' tales. "Don't sing in bed at night, you'll be crying by morning., Don't rock an empty rocking chair or else someone in the family will die soon., Don't walk under a ladder., Never cross a black cat's path., If an owl hoots outside your window, someone close to you is going to die soon., If your palm itches you're coming into money soon., If your nose itches someone is talking about you behind your back., If you break a mirror you'll have seven years of bad luck., etc.etc..

I can't tell you that you are or are not pregnant. Who knows that answer?!?! But I can tell you that I have a daughter that is now 12 years old and she constantly did that and other goofy and funny things. It's all part of exploring and learning their bodies and the world around them. It's perfectly natural.

That being said, even though she "looked between her legs" repeatedly, I was never pregnant. Sort of impossible,I was single at the time and well uhhh, I can't get myself that way. Haha.

Baby boy won't "bend"?

It is possible that he is a bit afraid or wary of the new activity. That would explain the rigid legs. He enjoys bouncing when you are playing with him. But to be left alone in a moving thing may not be his cup of tea...yet.

He might just need a bit more time to get accustomed to bouncing freely without you nearby.

Perhaps you should unhook the Jumperoo, and try bouncing him in it like you do when you play with him.

Try bouncing him in it on a bed first, or you may have to start with just putting him in it and standing him up (on a bed), so he can get used to it. then move to bouncing him in it.

After awhile, he will get used to being in it, and bouncing, with you comfortably close. When he no longer stiffens his legs, but expects ot have fun bouncing, you can hook the Jumperoo back up and let him try it again. But stay close. Distance yourself a little further away from him each day. In time he won't even notice that you have moved away from him.

Then again, his stiff legs could mean he'd rather try walking...
: )

You might want to check my suggestions out with your pediatrician, to be sure that they are the right thing/s to do in your case.

And while as parents, we are often tempted to compare one child with another, even one child's infancy with another's, it is best to view him as the individual he is. Although it is kind of nice to have a reference point, when something is puzzling or troubling us.

Hope I helped. God bless you.

My baby's leg are bent, is it normal?

it is normal. because your child is only 8 months. He or she is still too young and will develop better result as they grow up.

Its like a babys skin. When they are only few weeks old, their skins are a little rigid. But when they are 1 or 2 months old, it turns smooth.

Also, congrats on the baby! ^.^

What happens if you break both legs at once?

I did.During my 11th standard (military school), I got pushed during an illegal punishment run. The push came from behind, very subtly, from amongst people I trusted my life with. I lost my balance and my right ankle turned inwards - I heard a loud snap. My left leg which tried to balance my body also turned inwards and I heard another but fainter snap. I was not down yet but as soon as I put my right leg down the second time, immense pain went through my body and I collapsed immediately.I have faint memory of what happened next. I remember looking at the leaves of the tree under which I had collapsed. I could not move my legs and the pain was making me unconscious. I struggled hard to remain sane as my mind continued to dip in and out of consciousness. My classmates gathered around me wondering if I was faking it or if they could use the opportunity to escape the run. Soon, some realised that I was really in trouble and surrounded me. i think somebody tried to straighten my ankles which were pointing in unnatural angles. I remember screaming and fainting. I remember when people tried to take off my shoes and socks, it felt as if I was being amputated - I lost consciousness so may times that I have all but fragmented memories of the incident.Due to bad luck, and intentional or unintentional oversight of people in authority around me, I never received proper treatment in time. I sustained serious ligament injuries and probably fractures (not even those were treated) which turned chronic with time. There were people who used my injury as a mean to destroy my life. This injury took an important part of my life, future and psych. It had horrible repercussions for my physical, mental and professional health and I still deal with something similar to PTSD and a hell lot of trauma. My left leg recovered. My right leg never did. I have not kicked a soccer ball since December 2010. People who wronged were never held accountable - they don’t even remember it I guess. The guy who pushed me was someone who spent 5 years in the same dormitory as me. He told me that it was him 2 days before we graduated. He felt no guilt or repentance.I wish I can watch them go through my pain and fight for their sanity, like I did.

My baby doesn't really crawl she drags herself across the floor?

Crawling isn't even mentioned in my favorite pediatric development textbook!

This seems strange since, of any of these behaviors, crawling is most associated with babies. The truth is many babies never crawl! They do need to find some way to move across the floor. Each will do so at unpredictable times and in distinctive ways. Your grandson may be a scooter, one who likes to stay upright and scoot across the floor on his bottom. Many babies prefer creeping, or wriggling forward on the stomach. Many children will crab-crawl, moving backwards. And, of course, many children will get up on all fours and crawl forward in the traditional way. Each child is unique.

Some adults are concerned that children who don't crawl in the traditional way will be less coordinated. This is a myth. As long as the baby begins to move across the floor using each arm and each leg, there is no cause for concern.

I'm reluctant to mention time frames, but somewhere between six and ten months I expect babies to discover some way to move horizontally across the floor to get desired objects. Obstacles to this include the child's not spending enough time on the floor, using an infant walker (which often eliminates the desire to learn crawling behaviors -- infant walkers are bad for proper development), having toys brought to the infant, pushing the child to learn to crawl, and physical problems such as muscle weakness. If babies actually crawl, it usually begins at around 8 to 10 months.
