My Best Answers Percent Lowers When I Answer Questions

Why does my 'best answer' percentage go down?

Hey Im Charly!
Yep you're 100% right. I'll try and put it in a way that you can understand, it's rather hard to explain. The percent of your best answers is compared to the amount of total answers you give. For example, if you have answered twenty questions, five of them being best answer, you're best answer percentage will be 25%. But, if you go ahead and answer another 10 questions, which either weren't or have not yet been selected as best answer then you're percentage in comparison to your total questions will go down to about 14%.

Good luck!
love Charly♥

What is the best answer for "why are your academics percentages decreasing''?

There may be numerous reason for getting marks low in academics. Personally, I believe, candidate should tell the exact reason to HR. Afterall every Interviewer / HR appreciate an honest answer to his question.Raju's Job Interview I don't see any problem with telling the truth. I remember one of the candidate responded by saying, "Sir, I wasn't very sure whether I should go for engineering. I admit that I opted for engineering because my parents forced me. Not that I wanted to do something else, but I was just clueless. It took me one complete year before I realized that engineering was fun. I screwed up in the first year but gradually started improving from second year..." An honest answer is what an interviewer would appreciate.Honesty works. In fact, one could share his story of how he improved his scores. Interviewers love to see how you have progressed.I guess all must have already seen this scene from the movie 3 Idiots, but go through it once again. You are in a MUCH better position than him.

Am i the only one here with 100 percent best answers?

Not a big deal, you only answered a someone's question once on Yahoo Answer

What percentage of questions answered right in GMAT OG shall I aim?

It's not about how many questions, it's always about which question. The algorithm is quite simple: You start from mid-easy level, you keep giving the right answers, the questions keep getting difficult. You keep doing them wrong, the questions become easier. Finally what's the highest difficulty level you reach decides your score. So you can do 4 question on Quants wrong and yet get a 51 or you can do 4 questions wrong and get a 48. What does matter is: "which 4 questions?"[Pro tip: Some of the questions in the exam are experimental. So even if you do them wrong, doesn't affect your score. The catch is - you can never tell which question is experimental. So you do your best and just hope if at all you do a question wrong, it's experimental one. ;) ]For OG, you should try to achieve a near 100% accuracy for 700+. Verbal 95% is commendable.Note: All this should be time-bound. No matter what you can do without time limits, what does matter is how much you can do with limited time.EDIT 1. I am not sure how so many answers are able to relate score with the no. of questions attempted correctly. But I can assure you the only answer to this question is with GMAC and they haven't revealed any data on this so far. If they do, I will let you know. When I give you a target percentage, that's to prepare you for the worst and that's all. Feel free to correct me if any of the information given be me is wrong.Thanks. :D

How does Quora choose the best answer to a question?

Quora is never open about its algorithms for fear that people may learn to beat the system so one can safely assume that no insider is going to answer this question. All of us can simply guess and try to guess correctly. To me, it appears that the longer the answer, the better chance it has of reaching the top. Views to votes ratio may or may not be relevant. I have often found an incongruity in this relationship with the position of an answer given that the lengths of the two answers are comparable.A person who has greater number of endorsements in a particular topic seems to have a better chance at being in top.Similarly if a person is a Top Writer, chances are that if their answer is long enough, it could be the top answer. All factors being equal - length, views to votes and popularity, the newer answer has a better chance of being on top. The key factor appears to be the person's ability to write twenty words in place of five. I think I have written a long enough answer. If this manages to reach on top of the answer chain, my analysis would be correct.... Otherwise, I shall come back another time and add some block quotes with links to various pages and we shall see how that goes. Watch this space for developments as I try to crack the QA (Quora Algorithm)... Actually, not. I don't care...you try.

Should Quora give points for answering questions?

I don't think it should be about visible points, like Yahoo answers, etc. Quora is all about getting the best answers from people who are authorities in a subject, and I think if there was any kind of point system, it should hinge on that.If there was a point system, it should go towards your authority in a subject. For example, if you answered a marketing related question, and people voted you up or thanked you, points should go into your "marketing" topic and show you as more of an authority in that particular subject. In theory, people will be really good at one or two topics, and those with the most authority would get credit for that authority.I do think there are cons with this idea too (anytime you implement points there are probably going to be cons). Certain people will gain so much authority in a particular topic that people will only want answers from those people, or it could make others feel cheapened when someone else is ranked so high in a topic even though they are pretty good at it too. It could end up creating some kind of upper and lower class (with no class in between!).My favorite option, however, would be to have a "top 10" group of people in a topic, with absolutely no way of knowing who's number 1 or number 10. This would give people hope that they can make it into that top 10, and that way there are 10 authoritative figures in a topic, and not only one. Points would go towards a person's topic, and their goal would be to get into the "top 10" for that topic based off of "thank yous" and "vote ups." I like this solution the best, since it gives people more opportunity and an upper-lower class relationship (shouldn't) appear.

If I mark all answers 'C' in an MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) exam, what is the probability of passing the exam?

This question touches on the over-all strategy of “testmanship,” which applies a generic answer strategy in addition to whatever knowledge of the subject matter you actually have. This assumes the MCQ you face is relevant to some course of study you are involved with, or some area of knowledge with which you have a working familiarity -but no special expertise. Here’s the over-all approach:Before you start answering, scan the whole test to get an indication of the questioning strategy. Do not assume you must answer the questions in order -unless that’s a test condition.Go ahead and answer the questions where you have a good degree of confidence that you know the answer. Those are your “gimmies.” Let us say that this gives you 25% of the test. Now scan the questions for choices which you know or strongly suspect to be wrong. The more questions with wrong answers, the better, because your actual odds of a correct answer will be between the “possible” answers. If you’ve narrowed it down to two, then your odds on a sheer guess or coin flip are 50–50. Let us suppose that such questions account for half of the test. If so, you pick up another 25% or thereabouts. But don’t guess randomly -make an effort to determine which choice is more probably correct. That give you a slight edge. That leaves 25% of the test which have few or no known wrong answers. In a 4 choice test, your odds on a guess are 25%. Again, use what you DO know to get an edge.Watch out for answers such as “neither A nor D” or “Both C and B.” Hit the BOTH answers first, for any question where you have ruled out at least one answer.Be aware that the wording of some questions may give you a strong clue as to the answer to a subsequent question.Ignore suspicious patterns to answers, such as “all the answers are “B.”In general, apply the above instructions in the order they are given. The idea is to grab the low-hanging fruit first, then work your way up the “tree,” to more difficult material. This website: General knowledge quizzes has many MCQ’s in various areas where you may practice. In a general knowledge test I just took, I scored 9 out of 10 correct, using the strategies above. There were 2 questions which included known wrong answers, improving my odds on a “guess.” There were 2 on which I was completely clueless.Bottom line: some knowledge of subject matter is essential, but knowing how to take the test can be critical.Hope that helps.

For the update questions

Can some one PLEASE answer this question ASAP?!?!?

Have you answered more questions since then? If so, that is the reason. THe best answer percentage reflects what percent of you answers has been voted as being the best. So if the questions answered part of that equation goes up then the percentage will go down - unless you get more best answers.
