I heard that cats can swim. Is this true?
Yes, they do.My mother’s cat Marussya used to swim with us. When it happened for the first time, it was a complete surprise for us.We went to a lake not far from Moscow and entered the water. The cat suddenly felt uneasy being left alone. I don’t know: perhaps she was afraid we were going away. After a few meows, she entered water and started swimming in our direction. On this photo, Marussya seems to be walking. In reality, she is swimming. It was an unforgettable sight. Marussya’s head and tail were always above the water while her four legs moved frantically. She loved swimming, apparently. Her abundant hair made sure she never got soaked. The only thing she disliked was to have soaked pads of her legs.In fact, a number of cat breeds are known as great lovers of water.Maine Coon cat (left). Can a cat distinguish accidentally stepping on its tail from something done to hurt them?
Well, here I go answering another cat question again. This happened maybe 10 years ago and my cat was around 8 or 9 years old at the time. She was sleeping, stretched out on the stairs in that come up to the porch in front of my house and I didn’t see her as I stepped down. I was wearing running shoes and I felt something kind of soft, like a tennis ball compress under my heel. I weigh about 165 lb and all of my weight came down on the top of her head. As soon as I lifted my foot off of her she ran off and cleared a 7 foot fence in one leap and disappeared. I looked for hours and couldn’t find her. I thought for sure I had mortally wounded her and I felt absolutely sick.I looked for her the next morning and my neighbor said he saw her under some bushes, where I found her crouched hiding. I think she might have tried to run again, but when I talked to her she knew it was me and let mt pick her up. Her eyes were swollen shut and her head was about the size of a softball. Thankfully I was able to get a vet to see her almost immediately. I told him what happened and he took X-rays, and started her on steroids and an IV drip of some sort.Amazingly, there were no broken bones or teeth, but he kept her for observation over night. I called to check on her the next morning and they said she was doing a lot better and was eating soft food, drinking water and being friendly as usual. I picked her up and brought her home.I thought she would be angry or mistrustful, which would have been completely understandable, but she didn’t hold it against me. I spoiled her for a week or so (well, actually she was always spoiled anyway) and thankfully she recovered quickly. This is her, contemplating taking a bath.So long story short, yes, cats can differentiate between intentional and accidental infliction of pain.
Do you feel there is a separation between Transsexuals and Non-Transsexual Transgender persons?
I believe that the term transgender should be retired and the umbrella closed. I also believe that a crossdresser should be called a crossdresser, a drag queen or king should be called a drag queen or king, a genderfuck a genderfuck, intersexed should be addressed as intersexed, And last but not least a Transsexual should be called just that a Transsexual. Please do not get me wrong I have no hard feelings towards any of these people. I am a woman who was born a transsexual who does not like being grouped with people who have nothing in common with me or with who and what i am. I also know that a lot of other people who are not transsexual and fall under the so called transgender umbrella, also do not like to be grouped with the others encluding transsexuals. What does the feeling of a ghost in your presence feel like?
When I was about 23 years old, I had a profound experience of seeing two ghosts in my bedroom. I lived with my boyfriend and we had a 4 year old daughter. At the time, my boyfriend's grandmother was in hospital after having had two strokes, and we knew it wasn't looking good for her. On the night in question we are all asleep in bed. As usual,I had left the landing light on incase our little girl needed to get up for the toilet. During the night I awoke with the light flooding into our bedroom, as the door opened. I assumed it was our little girl coming in, and with squinted eyes due to the bright light , I glanced at my bedside clock which read 2am. I looked back towards the door , and what I saw and experienced next, all happened in a matter of seconds. I saw the silhouettes of an older female and an older taller male behind her, come Into the bedroom , go round to my sleeping boyfriend's side, turn and go back out again. Their presence did not alarm me. Something came over me that kept me feeling calm and very sleepy. So I immediately lay back down and fell asleep. The last thing I remembered was the room returning to darkness as the door closed behind them again. The next thing I'm aware of is the door knocking. We are all woken up at 8am with my boyfriend's dad at the door. He comes to tell us my boyfriend's grandmother passed away in the night around 2am. I then remembered the visit in the night , and it all made sense , although it shocked me too. I told my boyfriend what I had experienced , and he felt it was his granny coming to say goodbye. My boyfriend and i got married a few years later , and had 2 more children. I have never told my mother-in-law what happened that night.(It was her mother that died.) I guess I'm afraid she'll think I'm crazy! But i want her to know her mother visited the family when she passed. Anyway, in answer to your question ~ the presence of a ghost(s) made me feel very calm and at peace.
