My Boyfriend Messed Up The Rim On My Brand New Car What Can I Do To Fix It

Parents got new car (Blk Nissan Sentra 2011). I drove it today and scratched one of the rims. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!?

First thing is just fess up. I'm sure your parents will be upset -- everyone is with the first scratch or ding on their brand-new car. It is going to happen, especially when parking against a curb. Let them know you accept responsibility, but need their help in getting it fixed. I don't think you can do it yourself other than try to cover it up with some sort of product which may or may not minimize the obvious, and I'm sure you can't remove the tire from the rim and replace the rim on your own. It might help if you called the dealer where they bought the car and talked to someone in the service department. Give them the same information you've asked here and ask them for a quote. Under the circumstances, they may be understanding and give you a break. Take the quote to your parents and work out some way to reimburse them. I think if you confess and are armed with all the information regarding getting it fixed or replaced, they will see you as a responsible person and be more willing to solve the problem on a sane level rather than freak out.

Someone hit my brand new car? What can I do?

Wow what a bummer. You are talking about diminished value which is went a car is damaged, repaired (even if to OEM specs) but losses some value.
Normal auto insurance policies and claims do not cover diminished value.
Some policies you can buy replacement insurance, but that only kicks in for very serious accidents. That may vary by state and company.
One reason is that before centralized reporting systems, a buyer might not be able to tell a car had a minor accident, unless closely inspected.
Now we have carfax, etc.
Get the car fixed, carefully inspect the work and move on. This type of thing happens. Keep in mind some high percent of cars are in some type of minor accident,,
so I don't think it will impact the value that much.
Keep all the paperwork to prove what was done.

My boyfriend messed up the rim on my brand new car! What can I do to fix it?

So long story short I just got a BRAND NEW car 2 months ago with only 85 miles on it.
Well today I looked at my car & see that my boyfriend CLEARLY hit a curb & scraped up the passenger side rim. It looks very bad & so obvious even from a distance.
Right now I have a claim with my insurance company for my rear bumper that my bf claims someone backed up into the car while he was out with friends & as he was leaving someone who was in the parking lot told him what happen to the car & described the car that backed into it but couldn't get the plate number.
So now the rim needs 2 be replaced thanks to him. When I take my car to get looked at for the rear bumper can I also claim the rim as well so I won't have to have 2 separate claims & pay 2 deductibles!?
Please help .... My nerves with him are so worked up & I'm ready 2 SNAP!

PLEASE HELP! THIS JERK CRASHED MY CAR...Do I have MORE front end damage?

My boyfriend was driving my 2001 Chevy Metro and crashed into about a foot high curb, anyways he had HIS mechanic come out and he said there "wasn't frame damage" and it needed a control arm, which I bought the part and he put it on for $150. The guy didn't seem shady....My bf also bent the rim which, the mechanic put in the back, I changed the tire to a spare. I don't know if this is coming from the spare or not, but when I drive , the steering wheel is tilted to the right and it pulls in that direction...Is that from the spare or is there MORE front end damage? My first car had front end damage and I had hundreds of dollars of work done to it...it never drove right, so I ended up gettin rid of it...I am really worried about this. Also do you happen to know if I can take him to small claims court if there is a lot more damage and even to sue for the $150 plus the $40 I'll have to fork over for a new rim...

What was one of your "I am so screwed" moments?

Night before exam -7 PMEveryone was busy in mugging up and I was completely indulged in the life of Logan Paul (That guy rocks). Friends asked me to study for the exam and they told me that it is pretty tough but I didn't listen to any of them10 PMWe went out to have dinner then came back to our room, I opened a book for a minute but the words written in that book didn't make any sense. It had equations that were more complex than my neural system. So I opened YouTube because I thought it would help to learn faster but then YouTube took me to a whole different planet and ate up two very important hours of my life.12 MidnightI was pretty fucked up, I had zero knowledge about the subject then my friend my Messiah ‘Halu’ taught me a few chapters but that wasn't enough to pass2 AMSleep was all over my mind, I wasn't able to understand a single word so I got inside my heavy blanket and fell asleepExam day -6 AMI got up with the feeling of helplessness and restlessness, I felt nauseous. Then came the thought which fucked up everything“Bhaad mein gaye exams aur bhaad mein gayi engineering ! Main toh startup karunga”(F*#k exams, f*#k engineering ! I'll do my own startup)I fell asleep9:45 AMFriends tried to wake me up to which I responded“Saale tum jaise log exam se darrte hain main nahi, Jaa nahi dena exam” (Exams scare only cowards like you not me. I won't give exam)I fell asleep again11:30 AMI finally realized that I have made a big mistake but it was too lateI threw my blanket and the inner voice came out “You were saying something about the startup…Dude you are so screwed !”

Do I forgive my boyfriend for only hitting me once?

It may be just once, but let’s get clear about it. Anyone who hits you when you do something wrong is a really bad choice for a partner. Our home should be our safe place from the dangers of the world. Sharing it with someone who feels justified in deciding what’s right and wrong for you and making it unsafe whenever he chooses is NOT a healthy life choice. If he did it because he “just snapped” it means he sometimes cannot control the way he acts. He can feel one way and behave another. This is just as dangerous but often treatable. If he gets it treated, then “just once” isn’t a problem. For him, it’s a blessing, for you a few awful moments in a long life.If he does nothing about it, he doesn’t care enough about your safety to live with. How to treat it? That depends on the cause. Drug and alcohol use can cause this. The treatment then is to learn to live without drugs and alcohol. A brain tumor can cause this. The treatment then involves a team of physicians. Alzheimers can cause this, but there’s no real treatment yet; you’ll need others to protect you. More often, a lack of skills causes it. I like the CompassionPower approach of Dr. Steven Stosny, but there are also plenty of anger management classes available and psychologists who can teach this one-on-one.The problem with just ignoring it is that no one who really loves you wants to hurt you. This means that every time he hurts you, he’ll likely invent an explanation for doing it other than lack of self-control. Usually those explanations make you out to be a bad person and make it less and less likely over time that he’ll do anything about his very serious problem.Your own explanations for it will make you out to be a better person, a person who doesn’t hurt the ones you love and who forgives. A relationship in which the two partners look down on each other is quickly drained of love and becomes just a dangerous living arrangement for them and especially for their children. So my answer is to forgive him after he takes some action other than promises to prevent it from happening again. Or leave him before it can happen again. And make sure you have family or friends around you for a few days just in case he snaps again when you break it off.

Can you put 185-65-R14 tires on 195-70-14 rims?

I do realize this might not be the best idea ever, but my car is supposed to take 195-70-R14 tires, however they are entirely bald (and one has a broken belt). Yep, bald tires - and $50 to my name.

I have a set of almost brand new 185-65-R14 tires in my basement. Not I realize mounting these would possibly mess up the speedometer, and I've heard that it could damage the transmission, but this would be a temporary fix until I get paid. All I want to know is if it is possible to mount 185-65-r14s where 195s should go.

Are Alloy Wheel/Rim Repairable? How?

Depends on how bad it is, if it's just a surface scuff, it could probably be sanded out and repainted/re-cleared. Does it look bent? Is there any strange vibrations while driving it after? If there is, the wheel is out of balance and needs to be fixed asap as it can be dangerous to drive on. If there are any cracks, you will need to buy a new rim and have the tire unmounted from the old rim and remounted on the new rim (any tire shop should be able to do this for less than $50).

Please be more careful when driving, if you're not used to the vehicle, take some time to adjust to it and learn how to operate it safely.
