My Bunions Hurt If I Walk To Much

My bunion hurts any tips?

Okay I have had bunions my whole life an I'm 13 . Yesterday my bunion really started hurting!! I stoppe walking on it and when I push on it (like where the bone is) it really really hurts. I haven't been wearing tight shoes. I am a runner and wish to continue running . I don't want to have to stop because of my bunions . I would like to know if this is normal pain of a bunion . Or if this has happened because of something else since it hasn't always hurt but just started hurting. Also can you tell me ways to help with the pain. Or ways to still run with my painful bunions

Walking after bunion surgery?

I had my bunion removed on Fed 6 of this year. I can tell you that all you really need to do, is rest your foot alot. Even if your not in pain.
The reason for this is so that the bone stays in the position it was adusted to. I also had the wire in my foot, and it drove me crazy. It kept moving and it would stick into my skin causing alot of pain. I didn't know how big it was or anything, so I reached inside my bandage and moved it. I had to. When I seen the doctor two weeks after I was so shocked to see how big the wire was. It was like a huge fishing hook. It didn't hurt when it was removed either. I had to use a walker to get around for about a week in the beginning. My foot and toes were all bruised and that is normal.
After the wire was removed my foot became very swollen again.
I just kept my foot up for a few days and it will take almost six weeks before your ready to go back to your normal life, but so far everything you said sounds just fine. I felt like going back to work last week, but my doctor said to stay off work for six weeks. He said the bone has to heal. The wire can move but it won't break or anything like that.
Mine moved and it was painful at times. But don't bend your foot or anything, you shouldn't anyway or else the bone won't heal properly.
In the coming weeks you will get better each day. I found that walking around did help in the past few weeks, just don't over do it,
even if your not in pain. Good Luck and don't worry.

Why do my bunions hurt so bad?

I have had bunions and flat feet my whole life, on both feet. They have always hurt but I never really noticed until I bump my toe. But recently my right bunion has been hurting really, really bad! When I walk or run, it throbs and turns red. And when im sitting or staying still, it has a very sharp pain in the bone/skin. I dont wear bad shoes, in fact i wear custom shoes because my feet are so wide. (double wide) My left foot is hurting too, but not as badly. Its just my right foot that needs help. I ice my bunion to relieve the swelling and redness and soak both my feet in warm water with epsom salt for 30-40 minutes. But nothing seems to be helping me at all! I find myself crossing my big toe and my second two together. I dont do in intentionally, it just happens. so do I need surgery, thereapy, or just to leave them alone and do their thing? Please help! ps. im 14 years old and weigh 240lbs. (i dont think its my weight because i used to weigh 272lbs. Im loosing weight) :-)

What to do if my bunion hurt??

Are vans shoes bad for bunions?

Look at your foot. Your second toe is longer. That's why you would get a bunion. So when you step forward, the push has to come from the second toe. Your big toe is supposed to be doing that, so it shifts over to help. And you turn your foot in so that the weight of pushing off with your foot can be on the big toe better. It will never get better as long as your second toe is longer. In fact, even after surgery to straighten it (chevron osteotomy), the root cause of the problem will still be there, the second toe being longer.
It's called the Greek Toe, since the man that was the model for Michelangelo's statue of David had it, along with the bunion process, etc. He certainly didn't wear sneakers or high heels.
Now, some people have the last joint of the second toe removed. But not many do it, because even if another toe is perfectly even with the big toe, the other one is longer because the big toe has more padding.
The first site I'm giving you is a collection of bunion pictures. Notice that second toe being longer.
Are there nonsurgical options? Yes, and one of them can cost only a couple of dollars. In Bonnie Prudden's book "Pain Erasure", she discusses the option of getting an old pair of tennis shoes, cutting a couple of circles out of the sole the size of a quarter, and glueing them to a pair of shoe inserts (like cheap Dr Scholl's) at exactly the spot below the ball of the foot. This causes the weight to be carried longer on the big toe where it should be, and the second toe isn't having to try to do all the work. Gorilla Glue is a good glue for such a project.
Easy enough to get the book at a library. Or Amazon has it, just to show I'm not making this up. So don't try for a particular brand. Put your foot on some thich cardboard, mark around your foot, cut it out, and use that as an initial estimate of the shoe box size you need. Your foot will be wider because your metatarsal arch will have fallen. So start out with wide shoes. And I do suggest that you make the support I mentioned, for both feet. When you find a shoe that seems goot, you can do a final fitting with the supports in place. There are commercial products, much more expensive.

How to deal with my Bunion?

Hi unfortunately the brace will not work, the reason you have a Bunion is because you have broken or snapped some very thin bones in your foot which hold your big toe straight. I have a Bunion also, your big toe will now go over the top of your other toes, and cause a big lump on the side of your foot. I sympathise with you, but the only real way to treat your Bunion is through surgery, where the surgeon will cut the protruding bone away to make your foot look straight, people have had repairs done to the small broken bones that keep your toe straight, but the repairs are not very successful due to the amount of pressure we put on our feet. I hope that this has helped you a little, oh I sometimes put vaseline ot petroleum jelly on my Bunion to stop skin irritation from my shoes, Good Luck J

I think I have a bunion?

I have these 2 little sores on the pad of my foot. (Right between my big toe and the next one...not quite in between but on the foot part) Basically they feel like little warts, but HURT. Ideas? Cures?

Still in pain 2 months after bunion surgery?

So I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but I'm still in a lot of pain and my surgery was 2 months ago. My surgeon said that I should be back to normal about a month after the surgery, but I'm not. I still can't walk very far without being in a great deal of pain, and it still hurts a lot just in general.
And I think the most painful part is not even where the bunion surgery was done - it's at the top of the foot, right below all the four other toes and even in some of the other toes. And of course, the actual big toe hurts as well but the rest of the toes and the top of the foot hurt so much. Is this normal??
