Car was broken into and my ipod was stolen, will they come back again if they saw the subs in my trunk?
I was working the other day and I came out to my car to go on my lunch break. I noticed that below my keyhole there was a hole. I instantly knew my car was broken into. I opened the door and saw the first thing that my headunit was still there, my amp, and subs were all there. THe only thing they took was my IPOD. It was during the day in broad daylight in front of the store i work at in the parking lot with my driver door facing toward the street road. My question is, will they come back again if they saw my sound system to jack it another day? OR do you think that since they robbed me and had to do it fast that they would even bother to look in my trunk? I need someone to help me feel better about this cause i just took everything out of my car and im not gonna put it back in for a long time. Also, do you think that they just picked a random car and looked in the window, saw the ipod haning out and broke into MY car because of that? PLZ HELP THX!

Speaking as someone who stepped off the back of a motorcysle at approx. 85MPH due to a steering head failure I will relate this to you; First thing you do is bounce a few times or maybe more - striking your head numerous times on the pavement. A full face helmet during this stage is extremely beneficial - I was wearing one at the time and not one square inch of it escaped damage. So much damage that the chim piece was totally worn through. And then you start a slide down the pavement for what seems like an eternity while praying that your body does nor strike a solid object which could split your body in half or tear a limb off. During this slide the pavement burns and scrapes down through the epidermal layer and into the muscle tissue. If you are wearing synthetic material it burns into this area and has to be removed with a stiff bristle brush. This doesn't hurt because it also removes the nerve endings from this part of your body. The hurt comes months later when the nerve ending start to regenerate and you spend 3 months trying to tear of your inch thick bandages. After my incident I was in bandages for a few days shy of a year. I was given Demerol for the first two days of this ordeal and chose to forgo medication for the rest of it. My wife had the dubious pleasure of changing my dressing 4-5 times a day for a year. I cannot go out into direct sunlight because the damaged areas burn in less than 2 minutes and blister terribly. Their are still certain parts of my arms that I no longer have any feeling in and the skin is like onion paper. If one where to jump off a car their legs would not support them. Landing on your feet would immediately throw you forward onto your face and head and you would be dead when the cartilage in your nose was driven into your brain..
Car broke down at a hospital, what are the chances of it getting towed before I can get back to it tomorrow?
First advise the hospital that the car has broken down. Then write a note stating that the car has broken down and who has been told. Leave the note in the windscreen with your name and phone number on it. Unless you’re blocking something vital, the hospital or its parking contractor will probably accept that these things happen. If you don’t tell anyone and don’t leave a note, how will anyone know? If you’re blocking something vital, you’ll have to move it, broken down or not.
Broke up with boyfriend but he still wants to go on the planned trips?
My boyfriend of 3 months broke up with me, and put me into the friends zone. He says it's about a 1% chance that we get back together -- something miraculous would have to happen. But he still wants to go on the "couples trip" we had planned with my best friend and his girlfriend in July to a water park area, as well as on a longer road trip to the southern US we had planned. It seems like a lot of time to be spending alone in cars and sharing hotel rooms for someone who is supposedly an "ex". I told him that it wouldn't be possible for me to not want something more with him as his friend. I'm so confused. I don't want to wind up as his emotional tampon. Is he trying to mess with my mind, or is this a chance to re-kindle our relationship?
Traumatized after my car got broken into last night? (Long)?
I can see how scared you'd be but don't panic. People that break into cars normally do so because the valuables are on display, I had my passenger side window smashed because I left my handbag in there, without thinking. These people probably aren't even local, they just go round looking for cars which may have had stuff left in, they're opportunists, your car was in the wrong place at the wrong time! At least they didn't steal your car. I know it feels horrible knowing someone's been in there and taken your stuff, but there are some t**** out there. If you get valuable equipment in your car again make sure it's out of sight or one of the ones you can take out. The police probably deal with this type of crime everyday and don't think it's worth their while. Annoying but true. As long as you have good security at home I think you'll be fine there, just remember to not leave windows open when you go out and stuff, me and boyfriend close the curtains if we go out in the day and know we're not coming back till late so no-one can see in.
What happens if I accidentally change transmission lever to "N" from "D" while driving my car?
No worries and don't panic. All you did was divert the transmission oil from one path to another. This effectively released the oil pressure from the clutches of the gear it was in so it actually was not in any gear and the motor would be freewheeling, hence the high revs. Once you shift back into a gear which supplies pressure to one gear or another, all is normal again. The only thing that would not be cool to do is to rev the motor up and then engage the transmission into a gear as this can cause severe damage to lots of internal components of the trans., motor, and other driveline parts. While the motor is idling, switch the trans. through all its gear selections and check the fluid by removing the dipswitch and wiping it off. Then re-insert and check the fluid for color and level. The level should be at the indicated spot on the dipstick and it will be written on it. The color is usually a bright red with no bits or floating parts in it. Touch a little to your finger and look at it in the light. Hope that helps.
