My Car Is Still Not Finished

My car is leaking water but not overheating?

As long as you don't run out of coolant, yes. Next time you fill the overflow, watch it and see if it's leaking. Sometimes the plastic bottles leak with age. If you're less lucky, you could have a leaking hose, or maybee a small radiator leak. Is it colored fluid or just water? The AC condenser will drip some water when used, that's normal.

Not finish paying off my car should i trade it it?

You owe 14000? What's the payoff? Or is that how much you're upside down? If that's what you have in in negative equity, you'll need to come up with a substantial down to get the deal done. All lenders making car loans will only finance 10% over the sticker price. So if the car you want is $18000, a bank will only go as high as $19800. That leaves you with a $12800 down payment to get it approved.

If you owe $14000 and the car is worth $XXXXX on trade, subtract the amount to get the difference. That will be your equity. If it's positive equity, just trade the car in. The dealer will pay off your old loan and start you clean on a new one.

If it's negative and that negative amount added to the price of the car you want comes out to more than $19800, it wont be approved.

Why is my car still running rough after a tune up ...the whole car is shaking?

Take it back to whoever did the tune-up, maybe they knocked a vacuum line off. Or didn't get the plug wires snapped on all the way.

Timeshares,if you never finish paying the down payment, are you still responsible to pay all of it?

In May my family went to FL for vacation and got suckered into a timeshare with Westgate ( very stupid, I know), well at the time we couldn't pay the whole down payment so it was split over a few month, well once we got home we decided not to go through with it all, and called / talked to them. Long story made short- we never finished paying the down payment and have not payed a cent since May and have not heard from them...are we still roped into this thing??

How long do body shops usually take to fix a car?

Lets put it this way.
My 1976 Triumph was hit earlier this year and sustained almost 10K worth of damage and i had it back in 2 weeks.
Unless you drive one heck of an exotic car and they cant get parts you should have had that car back weeks ago.
i would get my car out of there and go elsewhere if you can.

Good luck

Can my uncle get the insurance on my car under his name while I can still drive it legally?

If the vehicle is registered in his name, then yes he can insure the vehicle under his policy. However with your driving record unless your uncle is already insured with a high risk insurance company there is no way a standard insurer is going to insure you. Since you are the actual principal operator of the vehicle you MUST be named as a driver under the policy. This means your uncle would have to insure that vehicle with a high risk insurer, and with your driving record (and the fact your uncle is probably listed as a principal operator on his own vehicle), you would be named principal operator of that vehicle (your uncle can't be principal operator of two vehicles when there are two drivers), so your rates wouldn't really be much different. If you are not named as a driver under the policy, and you get into an accident with the vehicle, then the insurance company will not pay a dime. This means you AND your uncle (as registered owner of the vehicle) would now become financially liable for everyone's injuries/damages. This means you AND your uncle could be in debt for the rest of your lives trying to pay off a judgment.

Repair Shop Holding My Car Hostage - What Can I Do?

I dropped off my car on June 10th for some body repairs and paint that was supposed to have taken 2 weeks, and it is still not finished almost 2 months later.

The owner of this shop has continually promised to have the car ready in a few days. We have resorted to dropping in on the shop to see whether there has been any progress on the car. Sometimes someone is there during business hours, sometimes no one is there. The phone goes unanswered more often than not, and it's nearly impossible to get a straight answer about the status of your repair.

Now I am unable to reach anyone at this business by phone or in person, and my car is locked inside their facility unfinished.

Does anyone have any ideas of what to do? Can I report my vehicle as stolen because I am unable to retrieve it?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
