My Car Makes A Squeaking Sound Once I Get To About 25 Mph

Car's front wheels squeaking?

My car's front wheel area is squeaking in a pulse. It does not squeak when the car is stopped. The brake does not effect it (on occasion, pressing the brake stops it, most of the time it does not) It squeaks even going very slow... as I speed up, the pulsed squeak speeds up as if to match the speed. Today I noticed that SOMETIMES if I turn my steering wheel just a little straighter (when coming out of a turn) it stops momentarily. I can hear the squeaking from 5-70mph (though it sounds like a vibration at 70mph as it goes so fast) Sometimes, it magically disappears... for 10 or 20 seconds (It's teasing me). It squeaks a little louder when I am turning. My mechanic insisted it was the brakes but he changed them and it only got louder (though he did not hear the noise, he's my neighbor so I HOPE the car has made its point loud and clear now) My car was just inspected, oil changed, and all that lovely stuff (and I'm broke in lieu of that).

Definite things= steering wheel direction effects the noise for the better or worse sometimes...
noise speeds up as I accelerate. The pulse has not gotten faster/slower with time... just louder (I have the most annoying car in the world right now!)

HELP PLEASE! :(

My front car wheels are squeaking when drive over 25 mph just replaced brakes.?

It's an easy fix if you promise to NOT do one thing. Never in a freaking million years put any type of stinking grease on the back sides of brake pads shims or no shims for the following reasons: It wouldn't last. If grease ever got on any part of the frictional surface it would degrade the binders that are used to whip up the brake compound and melt them.

If you want to stop brake squeal buff off both sides of the rotors with a 36 grit aluminum oxide paper grinding disc in a 7 inch right angle grinder. Knock off the rust on the outer lip and edges.

Spray off both sides of the brake pads with CRC Brake cleaner. Apply a .090 coating of CRC Brake Quiet on the steel sides of each brake pad and let them dry for 30 minutes. CRC Brake Quiet is a high temperature silicone silastic compound that forever remains flexible. It's purpose is to cancel brake harmonics and vibration. Better known as SQUEAL! Should this compound accidentally touch the frictional surface of the brake pad absolutely no harm would result. Both of these products can be found or NAPA AND Carquest. There's an outside chance Advance Auto and Auto Zone has it also. I usually stay out of box stores as they have too many off-shore cheap useless parts.

Front passenger wheel squeaks under 35 mph?

I can tell whatever is squeaking is associated with the rotation of the tire. It squeaks in rhythm according to how fast I'm going... so at about 30 mph it sounds like theres a cricket chirping in my wheel well. I thought it was the wheel bearings but I have been told more than once the wheel bearing would make a grinding noise, not a chirp, if it was going bad. I took the tire off and there are no visible problems.
This is a 93 ford T-bird if that helps.

Why does my car sound like it's crying?

Could be the bearing in the water pump going out, bearing in the alternator or power steering pump. Get a small vacuum hose or a stethoscope and try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. When was the last time you replaced the serpentine belt? You can buy a can of belt dressing and spray it on the belt to see if that helps.

My porsche boxster sort of squeaks and makes noises when driving slowly. Is it the convertible top?

I suggest that you go to the Web site for the Porsche Club of America (PCA) and find out the regional club that's closest to you. See if you can find an upcoming event for that regional club and go there with your car. You will find dozens of Porsche experts there who will be able to tell you exactly what is wrong with your car. They will even be able to tell you the best place to get it fixed -- which is not always a Porsche dealer.

From what you describe, it's a little hard to say what is making the noise. But an experienced Porsche person can tell you in 30 seconds with a test drive. See the link below for the PCA Web site.

My car wheels squeak when driving, but stop when I apply the brakes?

The brake pads are worn down. Brake pads have a warning sensor that emits a squealing sound when they are worn down. There is a metal clip attached to the pads, when the pad wears it rubs against the brake rotor and emits that squeal sound. Once you hit the brakes, the vibration of this clip stops. You may have about a few hundred to 1000 miles remaining on the pads. Plan on new front pads to get replaced soon.

What may cause the front end of the car to shake when going over 50 mph?

This is a rather vague description of the problem. A few questions need be answered before a definitive answer can be given.Does the shake continue above 50 MPH, get worse or diminish at higher speeds?Does it shake less at other slower speeds?Does it start to shake after hitting a road deviation?Does it shake with brake application?Do you feel the shake in the whole car or just the steering wheel?OK, I will give a couple possibilities. It is most likely a tyre balance issue, probably caused by a radial tyre belt slip. This can be felt slightly at low speed and seem to disappear until it reoccurs at the noted 50 MPH. It could be a lose steering component ie: tie rod end, failed steering rack mount or steering column connection. It could be a soft sub frame mount allowing the sub-frame to shake at different frequency than the normal body frequency. It could be a warped brake rotor accompanied by a sticky brake caliper not properly releasing the pads. If the rotor is warped and the caliper is not sticky, then the shake will only occur when the brakes are applied. You really need have the car inspected by a competent mechanic to determine exactly what is going on. This need be done SOON before it creates other issues or an accident!

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 squeaking in rear axle when i accelerate and brake?

I own a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 with about 120000 miles on it. Lately when I accelerate from a stop i hear a squeaking noise coming from either the rear axle or the rear brakes that stops once i get up to speed. It also happens when i brake and when i coast at about 20-25 mph. Any suggestions as to what this could be? and if you do know than is it something that I could fix on my own? thanks!
