My Cat Has Blood In Her Feces What

My cat has blood in his feces and he's losing hair.?

He probably needs a once over by the vet....flea control, dewormer, the routine goodies. he is a senior pet, so the vet may give you some preventative care options while you are there

if you can get a fresh stool sample to the vet tomorrow (within 12 hours old.... refrigerate or stick it outside in the cold garage (not to freeze)) so they can run some tests. sometimes there are multiple parasites or bacteria that is present and it needs other meds than the routine stuff.

Why is there blood in my pregnant cats feces?

I did a little research for you, and found that the best answer may come from a similar question here on Yahoo! Answers from a couple of years back, in which a cat breeder responded.. hope his answer will help you out, too!

Blood in cat's stool?

Dont you just love it when your pet has a problem then the moment you take him/her to the vet the problem dissapears? arg...lol anyways
If your cat isnt having the problem right now then just watch her very closely. The moment..and I mean THE MOMENT you see blood in her stool (this may sound icky) scoop it up, put it in a zipper sandwich bag, call the vet and tell them what is going on and you need to get in RIGHT NOW..and then take the sample..and of course the kitty to the vet so you will have the proof of whats going on and they will have something they can test. Sorry I cant help you more!

My cat is in heat, and blood in her stool?

Seriously, just get her fixed. There was no reason to wait for her to go through her first heat. Cats can be fixed when they're only a few months old. But to answer your question... no, there should not be any blood. Take her to the vet to get that checked out... and then get her fixed.

How can I help my cat which I recently found blood in her poop? She bleeds frequently now for 2 days. I think she swallowed a piece of plastic or something.

Take her to the vet. If you have access to a veterinary clinic that has overall best reviews, take her there. Pray on the way, that you didn’t waste the two days that could have saved her life. If you don’t believe in a divine being, better start believing in Bastet and make those prayers weigh.

Cat in heat, blood when pooping?

I have a kitten who is 4-6 months old, and I'm PRETTY SURE she's in heat. However, every time she poos, there is some bloody mucus kind of stuff on top of her poo. She's doing the "butt in the air" thing, and is very affectionate and CRAZY, and meowing a lot, though luckily she hasn't started yowling, since she's in a dorm room until this weekend, when I was going to take her home. She's a shelter cat, and I found her while volunteering there, and decided to adopt her a few weeks later. I've researched it and will call the vet tomorrow (I called him earlier and he said she's probably just in heat), but most websites I've looked at said that blood isn't common for a cat in heat. I thought maybe it was just because her bowels were moving that it could cause some blood to come out. Someone help!!

Thanks in advance, also! :)

My 1.5 year old cat has bloody mucus diarrhea. What can I do?

This sounds like something is going on in the intestines, I suspect a parasitic infection. The two primary causes that I can think of that show both blood and mucus in the stool with related pain and loose stools are giardia and tritrichomonas foetus.Giardia is pretty easily treated and can be seen on a fecal test with a microscope (your vet can do this in office). Treated with Panacur or Metronidazole (some 30% of Giardia infections do not respond to Metronidazole).Tritrichomonas foetus is tougher to treat but is curable, detection usually (but not always) requires a fecal PCR test (about $75 and need to be sent off to a lab). Not every vet knows a lot about tritrichomonas, it is a somewhat newer disease in cats (it is actually a cattle venereal diseases that has jumped in to cats in the last 10 or so years) and so you may need to bring some supplemental information to share with the vet on treatment options. This parasite CAN be seen under microscope, but it is really tough to tell from Giardia by this method unless it is alive from a fresh sample.Tritrichomonas foetus infection in catsIf this is a GI infection, please be aware that cats shedding virus are highly contagious, so try to keep him and his droppings away from other cats until you have a diagnosis. It is possible that one or both of these can cause inflammatory bowel syndrome in susceptible cats after it has been cured. You may need to consider additional nutritional support afterward if this happens. A partial raw diet would make a difference if things go that way.
