My Chances Of Getting A Bid

Do I have a chance of getting a bid at an Ole Miss Sorority?

Next year I will be going to Ole miss and I really want to pledge a sorority...
I have read most places that the GPA cut off is 3.0 but for some it's 2.5? I'm kind of confused.

My freshman and sophomore years of high school I did very badly because of some family problems and having to travel a lot for my fathers work. My Junior and Senior years I stepped up and ended up getting all A's and B's, but because of my low underclassmen grades my GPA is going to be around a 2.6-2.75.

However, I have always been very involved with community service.
My sophomore and junior years, I was involved with a club that helps teach 1st graders to read, and this year I started a job tutoring 1st through 4th graders at a local elementary school.

I was in my high schools key club for two years.

The summer after my junior year I became involved with an small-locally run organization to help aid people in a rural village in East Africa. With this organization I have worked both in the US and in Africa, where this past summer I spent 6 weeks working in a vocational school and in a small hospital. I plan on continually working with this organization throughout college and expanding it to other parts of the country. I am also the vice president of this organizations club at my high school.

I have also been involved with dance and piano since I was six, and am in three other clubs at my school(snowboarding, art history, and cartography).

I know I have good extracurriculars and I have great letters of rec...but will that even matter because of my GPA?

please answer this!!! THANK YOU!

What are the chances of bidding on a house for 25,000 less than the asking price?

Chances for bidding on a house for 25k less than the asking price is EXCELLENT.This is an awesome market for buyers. Don't be afraid...! Get a good Realtor and let him/her negotiate for you!! No seller will automatically turn down any offer; smart sellers will negotiate, just as smart buyers. You can have your Realtor look it up and get a good idea of what is owed on it, or go to your local county clerk recorder's office and check yourself. Or Google it and get the info online free as well, though maybe not as up to date unless you get on your local govt. site to check out the porperty. Just look up a good Realtor by word of mouth or the yellow pages. Realtors are not going to charge you for providing you with information; they get paid per close of each transaction they service. Hope this helps, email me with further questions if you want :)

What are my chances of getting into a sorority at FSU as a sophomore?

Since you have already been through recruitment once before I think its important to tell you that at some schools there are sororities that have a once cut always cut rule. Now I'm not saying that to discourage you because if being in a sorority is something you want then you should go for it.

If letters of recommendations and being a legacy are important at FSU that tells me that FSU has a very competitive recruitment. The fact that you have a 3.0 college GPA and are involved in 3 campus activities/organizations is definitely going to help you especially if you have or currently hold an office!

Any sorority worth joining isn't judging based on solely on appearances and looks as Hollywood would have you believe. Sorority women are looking for women who they want to be like, see as future leaders of their organization and friends. Thats really it. So yes you want to take the time to look nice and presentable but relax and just be yourself. Since you are shy you are going to have to go out of your comfort zone and talk to them. I know it can be awkward, but it must be done if you are going to succeed! If you can do that I think you've got a shot! Make sure you talk about your organizations, passions, favorite subject all that cool stuff. Ask them questions too, like why did they choose such and such sorority. Sorority girls love talking about themselves! Best of luck and remember if it doesn't work out how you hope there are plenty of fantastic organizations college campus's have to offer that can give you just as wonderful college experiences as greek life can.

What are the chances of getting outbid on eBay?

Yes you can cancel your bid.
By placing a bid on eBay, you agree to pay the amount you offered if you win the auction. However, if you made a mistake, do not despair. There are some circumstances under which you can withdraw, or cancel, a bid.

According to eBay policy, valid reasons for withdrawing a bid include: accidentally bidding the wrong amount, inability to reach the seller by telephone or email, and the seller substantially changing the item's description after you entered your bid. To withdraw a bid for one of these reasons, you must fill out a bid retraction form (below) or go to your eBay Help pages and type in bid retraction or cancel bid. (You see the same form as below)

http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?R...

I guess you have to choose the last of the 3 reasons: "Entered wrong amount". Do this with more than 12 hours before the Auction ends.

The most popular time people go on eBay is Sunday evenings from 6 to 9 pm and 50% of all the bidding's that happens within a week in the USA happens on Sunday's. The least seems to be on Fridays. Tuesdays at 8% and 7% respectively (all estimated).

Hope this answers your questions.
Good Luck,

Sorority, not getting a bid.?

Suiciding does not throw you out of the system, although it is discouraged because it lowers your chances of being placed anywhere. There is NO appeals process for joining a sorority other than rushing again. Computer mistakes don't happen, my school switched from doing it by hand to a computer system and I was part of the committee to research which system to buy, it's a nice lie to tell yourself but it's still a lie.

Your best friend and her sisters are breaking one of their most important vows to their sorority as well as Panhellenic rules by discussing where they think you may be on the bid list. It's unethical, and they don't necessarily know where you ended up on that bid list. It could be that everyone in the chapter knows or only the person entering it into the computer system and the person (or people) checking it. You not receiving a bid doesn't mean they hate you or are lying, it just means the chapter as whole liked other girls more.

Here's what I can tell you: after pref night sororities make their first bid list of their ideal pledge class listed alphabetically, and then everyone else that went to the pref parties in order of preference. If a girl from their first bid list matches elsewhere, then girl #1 on the second list gets bumped up. This goes on until the sorority has reached quota or they run out of girls.
Since you suicided here's where the process stops for you and you are dropped.

If you had maximized your options, the system would then have tried to place you in your second choice. If that didn't work you would have been eligible to be placed as a quota addition to either chapter (how this works is one of the places that explanations get complicated and require math and school specific policy).

You were not high enough on the list to make it. Your friends might have loved to have you as a sister, but the chapter as a whole wanted other girls more.

Find out if any sororities you could be interested in hold informal recruitment. If not, there's other ways to get involved on campus and you can always try recruitment again. I'm sorry this happened to you and good luck with whatever you decide to do.

What are the chances of winning a car on copart?

You have to understand how Copart works. It is not an eBay style auction, where cars are on sale for weeks at a time.

When a car comes up for sale, you are allowed to "pre-bid" on that car. You are putting in a proxy bid for the live sale. When the auction goes live (check the schedule for the auction date), there are bidders actually buying the car *right then*, just as if you were at a live sale at an auction house. If no one bids on the car, then the highest proxy bid is the winner (as long as the minimum is met).

When you refer to the final seconds of an auction, you need to realize that on a scheduled date and time, that car will be in a live auction Most auctions take less than 1 minute per lot. SO the car is brought up on the sale, buyers bid on it right then, and the highest bid at the close is the winner. Its not like ebay where things are static for a week, then the auction ends. Its a "live" auction at a set date and time.

There are over 200,000 registerd buyers on Copart, in over 100 countries. The action during a live sale can get frantic.

What are my chances to get a Bitcoin if I bid for a buy price of $3k? I saw a steep decline post $11k mark, but still its too high for me to buy 1 Bitcoin currently.

You do not need to buy 1 BTC. If you want, you can buy $10 worth of BTC. If you want to give that a try, you could convert your $3000 into ETH via coinbase and open an order on bittrex for 1 BTC at the ETH value equivalent of $3000… I believe that open orders are automatically cancelled after a certain length of time… I’m not exactly sure what that length of time is. But your chance of picking up a coin at that price… very very low. Plus… during the time you are waiting… your money would be tied up in something that is very unlikely to do much for you. However, it is likely that ETH will go up in value, so you could make a few bucks in the process. Hope that helps, and best of luck to you :)

How do I get the most out of my bids in freelancer.com?

Freelancer - Hire & Find Jobs has many brokers who boast if their reviews and stars. Most of the times it's not about the star, it is how you introduce yourself when you bid.To get the most out of your bids, bid on jobs that you are sure you can get. Avoid projects with more bids if your profile does not match top bidders.Bid on a job that you are sure of and can provide samples related to that task. Bid one job per day if you have 30 bids in your package. If you are desperate, just bid half of your available bids in a day.You can also choose to participate in contests, if your chances of getting a job is unkown. Participate in as many contests as you can to increase your chances of winning. My motto has always been: bid until you bleed. Do not give up, learn on how to write proposals and you will get better at it. Just bid.
