My Chihuahua Just Let Out A Painful Shriek

My chihuahua screaming in pain?

My chi has been screaming in pain off and on for the last 3 weeks or more. After the second round of tests at the vet, they concluded there was some bacteria in her urine so she has been on medicine for a UTI but still after the full round, 2 weeks, she will scream in pain sometimes if we touch her, sometimes without touching at all, but it is off and on. Sometimes she is fine, but mostly in pain and seems to just sit in her bed. We did x rays at the vet already, and they just cant seem to find anything else. Has anyone had experience with this and found the cause? Please I want her to feel better!

My Chihuahua just let out a painful shriek?

Just now my little, adorable Chihuahua let out a painful, high pitched shriek/whimper. He was on my sister's bed and she was reading. I think my little dog was sleeping and suddenly he let that out. He is about 4 years old now. This has NEVER happened before. It scared us all. We don't know if he's in pain, if he panicked himself. He seems to be fine now. He is my sister's baby and she is comforting him to the best of her ability. We are not sure what that was. Can anyone please help? Thanks!

Any idea why our Chihuahua screams in the middle of the night?

Almost every night, our male chihuahua, who is like 7 years old or so, will be sleeping in his basket - usually snoring away - suddenly he'll tense up and let out this scream like a kid who smashed his finger or something. Scares the crap out of us. He did it only occasionally, like once every few weeks, now he does it almost every night, and one night he did twice. Afterward he'll wake up and look at us like "what?". He doesn't seem to be in pain or anything cause he usually falls back asleep. What is his deal? Doggie nightmares? I noticed he usually does it when he's laying on his back or side, but he's done it when curved in a ball. He is a little overweight, but he runs fine when you play with him, so I don't think he has any arthritic problems. Anyone know what might be the problem?

My dog keeps letting out high pitched shrieks/screams. What could it be?

My 3 year old Jack Russell keeps screaming/shrieking. Most of the time we haven't even touched him. He'll just be laying on the sofa and suddenly he will let out a little cry. He has a vet appointment Monday but I am worried sick about him. When he was laying on me earlier, I lifted him off of me and he let out a cry which lasted about 5 seconds, and then let out little shrieks after that. He wouldn't move, he just laid there, whimpering.

What could it be?

A sudden shriek from my dog with nothing visibly wrong!!!!?

My dog suddenly yelps loudly, like a shriek, and then when I go to check up on her there is nothing visible wrong. She just wags her tail and comes to me so that I can pet her. The only thing I notice is that she is breathing a little bit harder. Is this just a cry for attention?

Just before my dog died she let out a long death howl. Has anyone ever heard of this?

It could have been a cry or yelp if she had cardio issues. The vet can send samples to have necropsy done. It could be helpful if she was a purebred.

Puppy randomly shrieking/crying?

I have a 4 month old chihuahua puppy, and sometimes when she is playing, chewing a bone, or basically doing nothing in particular, she just starts to shriek and cry, like something is hurting her. I thought maybe she only did this when she was alone in a room (because she's scared), but she's done it while I was right next to her. It makes me panic, because I hear her shrieking and I run over to her, and there's nothing wrong. I always check to see if she's caught on something, if she chewed something, if she's got something in her mouth.. Nothing. She doesn't seem to be doing it for attention, because one second I look at her and she's playing with her stuffed animals, happy as can be, the next she's crying. Even when I am sitting next to her.

What's going on? Anyone have any idea? This is my first puppy, so I'm learning.

Thanks!

My dog is screaming in pain when I touch him?

i am a chihuahua breeder..........their nails sometimes will grow into their flesh..sometimes they get their paws stepped on....
it depends on if he goes out or not. my chihuahuas have gotten their paws stepped on...they dont limp but they dont want them touched after.
if he has been to the groomer lately..maybe his nails were cut toio close....
or he has something stuck in his pads....
i would get some gloves and coat on and go pick him up and put him on the couch or bed and dont let him leave. pet him for a while and give some tuna......this will allow you to stroke him...feel his legs slowly going down to the paws...and feel them nnails and see if one is growing in his skin.....then check for tenderness on the instep of the paw......up...downunder......
stroke it like you are feeling for a tick.....once you get him out of the corner...then you can work on where the problem is......
but get this childrens alergy liq...3$..at walmart...one half dropper will sedate them enough to work with them....i would keep him warm at night ..what i do sometimes is place the chihuahuas blanket in the dryer and then throw it on them on their bunk......they love that warm blanket...that too with soothe him while you are getting him calmed down to examine.

jean

give him some childrens alergy liq..its pick and is sold at walmart......go in where he is and dont pick him up...just pick up the chin and drop a half dropper of this liq in his side area of his mouth...and he will begin to be drousey in about 30 minutes.

If my dog saw me badly injured and I was screaming in pain, how would my dog react?

I like this question.Mots a question of character i’d Say.whats your dog like??my dogs..A lurcher (speedneedle) an akita(the bear) and an GSDxcollie(the poser)i’ll leave It to you to guess their name..well..Doug… he can’t go off the leash because, frankly he’s an A-hole..he’s very very smart, but if it looks like ‘prey’ he’s going to charge it down and bite it… so he would more than likely be attached to me when I get injured and maybe run for it.. coming back later. A large mesh fence panel wrapped around his neck with a small critter in his teeth. Looking all proud of himself. (I don’t condone his behaviour he’s a rescue hunting dog)Yogi… he’s kind and gentle… superexcitable but I doubt he would stop to help, He’s as thick as fudge. Yogi is more likely to drag my injured body with him to what ever smell or puppy that excites him and proceed to run around in circles until he drops from exhaustion.Prince. Well. He’s the sweetest and the newest to the pac, but he’s special.. he’s likely to go find someone or make a whole lot of noise, I doubt he’d run or wander off like the other two and if he did i’m Confident there would be a person in tow.
