My Computer Is Seriously Frozen Help

COMPUTEr COMPLETELY FROZEN..HELP HELP HELP!!!!?

Sometimes when you have too much on your computer, it gets too bogged down to even stay turned on. One way to solve that is by opening the BIOS as you computer turns on. To access that, you must turn your computer off and when you turn it on again, when the screen pops up that displays the brand of your computer, the bottom of the screen will display something like "press F9 to interrupt startup." Do that and the BIOS screen will pop up. There will be options, go through the options with either the arrow keys or pressing the corresponding number key. If you want to format the hard drive, there should be options to format your hard drive. If you do that, you will have to reinstall the OS, so you either need to buy Vista or use the Restore disk that came with your computer. If you lost the Restore disk, do not format your hard drive, unless you are willing to pay for the new OS. Vista is pretty expensive. If your computer will not stay logged on, I do not know how to get rid of the adware or whatever else is on your computer. If your computer won't log on you wouldn't be able to install new software to remove the adware.

How to save files from a frozen computer?

When your computer programs lay down on their back and "play dead" you generally have no sure-fire way of salvaging your data. The reason being that your program has lost contact with the operating system (the set of programs and stuff that runs your computer and is responsible for starting the programs) and it is impossible to communicate with it. It is like talking normally to a guy not wearing ear protection after a black metal concert.

If the file is unsaved, it resides in memory and will not be able to retrieve at all. Sorry, but that is the harsh truth. A saved document can be retrieved up to the point you last saved.

I do not know what program you've been working in, but if it is MS Word, you MAY be up for some luck. MS Word saves a backup copy of your document every few minutes (if not turned off in the settings) and upon restarting the computer and re-opening Word it may ask you to recover the crashed file. Later versions of Excel have similar mechanisms.

It is, however, good practice to NOT trust such features in your system, as they may not be entirely trusted. A good idea would be to save often and to "version" really, REALLY important stuff. Every now and then, save the doc with an added date, for instance, to easily go back if you, the program - or the computer goof up seriously. Important items you should also save on an external USB disk every so often. Talked to a guy a few weeks back that not exactly looked forward to telling his wife that all pictures taken the last three years were totally lost...

Please help my computer is frozen since last saturday?

Am I right that you wrote your question from some other computer? Obviously, if you wrote it from your own computer and were able to, then there would be no problem, right?

Do you have a virus scanning program for your computer? I would absolutely do a full system scan. Could very well be a virus or worm or whatever.

It's unusual that something happens so suddenly and there's no reason for it. Do you have a reboot disk or floppy (I HOPE so). You could put that in to restart your computer so that you could at least reboot it and start a virus scan on it.

Have you tried to start it in safe mode? Or, does it do nothing at all and you can't even get that screen up?

I once had a virus or something that wiped everything out but it wasn't like what you're saying. My screen went blue, all blue. And, my hard drive was totally wiped out. I had to call Microsoft to help me set my computer up again. There was NO Geek Squad at that time. On an off, I was on the phone for like 7 hours with their reps (Microsoft/Windows) but they did get me up and running again and restored my system by telling me what to do.

You didn't say how old you computer is but if you had XP on it, doesn't sound too old. I'd not chuck it like people are telling you to do. Duh! Like that's not expensive to do!?!

If all else fails, try using a Geek Squad but, I would first email or contact Microsoft to see if they can help. If there's a charge, it will be cheaper than a new computer.

OR, do you have the XP software? Maybe you can just reinstall it???? I have Vista and there's a program where you can either delete, repair or replace your programs. Can you "repair" XP somewhere, using your software?

Gosh. That's a bummer. Hope you can figure something out or that something I said can help.

IPod is seriously frozen and nothing will work?

I have a 30gb iPod Video.

Screen is stuck, and lit up. Its not that it just won't respond, the screen is completley frozen because the time is still what it was when it froze. I have already tried:

1. Resetting (hold menu and select)
2. Plugging in to a computer
3. Plugging into a power source
4. Plugging into a dock

My computer comes up with a message saying it has 'malfunctioned' and 'Windows cannot recognise it'.

Taking it back to Apple is not an option.

Please help!

My Ipod is Frozen!? Need Help!?

hold down the center button and the menu button at the same time until you see the apple logo pop up. That should unfreeze it. ( ps. unplug the ipod from the computor first.) If theis doesn't work, then plug your ipod in again and open itunes. If that doesn't help at all you can try restoring your ipod to the origonal form. That would be under all programs, ipod then updater. If all else fails, call the apple support or website www.apple..com Worse case senerio, you need to send it in for repair or a new one. Hope this helped alittle.

Also try to give ur ipod a little rest. Don't use it constanly. Mine froze once about 1 1/2 years ago and it has never frozen on me again. ( i pressed menu and the center button)

First of all to fix that problem you need to know what really causes it. The common causes of a blurry screen include the followingSetting the screen resolution lower than what is recommendedNot having graphics(video card) drivers installed on your PCLoose VGA-monitor connection for cases of desk topsFaulty screenFaulty video card(display adapter)There could be other reasons that cause a blurry screen but those are the most common ones . To know the cause of your problem will require troubleshooting first. For example you can start with adjusting the screen resolution settings and see if that fixes your problem. If it doesn’t then update your graphics drivers.Next make sure your VGA cable is properly connected to the monitor. Is that doesn’t workThen you can try connecting your CPU to another monitor and see it the display is clear. If the display is clear with another monitor then chances are high that your monitor is the cause of the problem. But if the display is still blurred then your display adapter is most likely the cause of problem.
