Why did my crush start to avoid me?
Just a few weeks ago, my crush started to talk to me and joke with me rather than just stand awkwardly by. I took this as a good thing, but now all of a sudden he doesn't approach me anymore. He doesn't talk to me, and he doesn't stare anymore. If i feel his gaze and then look at him, he's just looking at something next to me or above my head. I caught him looking at something near me and he immediately turned away. What is up with him? I feel like if I try to approach him he will just aavoid me, or get bothered by me. I don't think he hates me, but I don't know why he's like this. Help?

I never really noticed my crush until he talked to me first. He tried to make conversation but I was awkward and very shy. He then seemed to lose interest but gradually became more interested again as I saw him more at school. We were partners for a couple day project and we seemed to actually connect and he appeared to genuinely have interest. Later that night, he followed me on Instagram (showing he was thinking of me?). The next day though, he completely ignored me. And ever since, he has been ignoring and trying to avoid me even when I try to start conversation. More than likely he has begun dating someone and is no longer interested in casually flirting, which is what I would presume lead you to believe he likes you in the first place. I asked my crush to prom a few weeks ago, and that was that. She claimed to be going out of town during the occasion, which I will believe is true, since out of all excuses, this would be one that would be hard to lie about. However, her best friend has started to avoid me. This started after I asked my crush to prom. What the hell? I did not do anything to upset anyone. Does she think that I'm an annoying person?
