My Daughter-in-law Lost Her Temper With Her Father-in-law Over Repeated Untrue Comments Made About

Can you be arrested for swearing at someone on the phone?

I live in NY State. I had been working with a collection agency to pay off an old hospital bill. I set up payment arrangements for a specific date and due to some changes at work (switched from weekly to bi-weekly pay) had to cancel the payments. Instead of cancelling, they just pushed back the date on me. I didn't know this. Today I checked my bank balance and discovered they had taken the money and it incurred a fee as well. I called to get the charge reversed and they said that because I set up the arrangement they will not reverse it. I said that I had asked to cancel and all they did was push it back so it was their fault. Their reply was that it didn't matter. The conversation got heated after that, I lost my temper and said to the lady "Go f*** yourself", then I hung up. Now, I'm worried that they will try and press charges or retaliate somehow. Is what I said illegal? Can I be arrested? Also, do they still have to apply the money they took to my account?

Not happening here, sorry.

To Muslims: Why didn't Muhammad perform non-violent resistance like?

Don't be naive. They don't understand that concept.
