My Daughter Is Very Sick But Refuses To Go To The Hospital

Feeling sick after leaving hospital?

Hi i recently went to hospital 2 days ago and had a blood test and chest x-ray and 2 ECG'S because i was having chest pains but it all came back clear and they sent me home.

i was fine yesterday but today i feel like i have the flu coming i have a mild headache a feeling of sickness and a sort of clogged up feeling in my chest like iv smoked loads of cigarettes (even tho i dont smoke)

Im just worried that iv contracted some hospital disease like MRSA from the blood test...is this possible? although its pretty mild at the moment im worried its going to get worse!

or am i just unwell as i have a sore throat too and some joint aches the only other thing iv got going on is im having a coloscopy on friday because iv had some bleeding when passing stools and also stomach spasms and stuff

My daughter is refusing to go to the doctor?

Please help me. I have a 15 year old daughter and it is time for her annual physical, blood test and ultrasound. But she hates going to the doctor (she cried the last few times) and she is screaming at me that she will not go this year. What can I do? And how do I get her to stop crying at the doctor's? It's really embarrassing!

How to get extremely sick and go to the hospital?

How date you say such a thing! I was in a hospital for 4 months away from my family and friends. You know what it's like to have a freaking spinal tap without ANY annestesia?! Do you know what it's like to be close to death? You think it's all fun and games. I never slept, alarms buzzing and flashlights shining in your eyes. **** YOU!

Am I being rude by not visiting BF's dad in hospital?

My boyfriend thinks that I'm being rude because I haven't gone with him to visit his dad in the hospital, but I don't really understand his viewpoint. Although we've been dating for 4 years, I haven't spent much time around his family (I do like them, but I'm very introverted and 99% of the time prefer to be alone), and I don't know his dad well at all.

His dad had a mild stroke about two weeks ago, so naturally he's been spending a LOT of time in the town where his family lives. I have to work, in a different town where I live, so I haven't been going with him on his trips to the hospital. Also, I've never explicitly been invited, so I assumed I wasn't welcome.

Today my boyfriend had a big blow-up about how rude and insensitive I am, because I've never gone to the hospital with him to visit his dad. WTF? If I was in the hospital, I wouldn't want my family bringing in strangers to visit me!! Then he said out of nowhere "If your dad ever gets sick, I'm NEVER going with you to visit him!" And I thought this was very childish. I wouldn't ask him to go with me anyway, because my dad lives in a different state.

So, what is really the right thing here? Is there some unwritten rule about visiting my boyfriend's dad in the hospital that I don't know about?? I could maybe understand if we were married, and I was officially part of the family, but that's not the case.

Does my child have to wear a hospital gown?

Sorry to hear that. But I really think the hospital gown would be the least of my worries but ask if they will allow her to wear her own clothes? If not just agree to it. It's better that she gets okay then to worry about wearing her own clothes and have something go wrong.

What can I do when my long distance elderly parent refuses to go to the hospital when they feel very ill?

We had this situation with my mom. We ended up saying, “ look , Mom…we are very concerned about you. We don’t want you to die because you’re being stubborn or are afraid. You need to call an ambulance or we will. If necessary we will call the police and EMTs to do a well check on you. We REALLY don’t want to do that. We want you to have control and make good decisions for yourself about this.” We ended up calling an ambulance. She had so much fluid buildup from being out of meds and not letting anyone know, that she was in congestive heart failure yet again. 5 days in the hospital. My brother ended up moving in with her to oversee her healthcare, meals, do daily chores and make repairs to her home.

How do I tell if someone needs to go to the hospital but doesn’t look like they should?

If you aren’t trained medical personnel, you can’t.Do they have symptoms of a heart attack or stroke? Do they have a very high fever? Either of those things require a trip to the hospital.Have they been throwing up for several hours? Have they had diarrhea for several hours? The very young and very old have bodies that can’t handle these things, so they need a trip to the hospital or at least one of the 24 hour emergency medical care places. If you can’t tell what is wrong, pay attention to how sick they act. If they are verbal ask questions. If you aren’t an experienced adult, if you are a teenager, except in a clear emergency, you shouldn’t be responsible for these decisions.
