My Daughter Keeps Complaining Of Lower Back Pains

9 year old complaining of right side pain. Been complaining since 3:30 am?

morning all! My 9 yr old daughter woke up at 3:30 this morning crawling in my bed complaining of right side pain and a tummy ache. I told her to go use the bathroom. she said she had just got out and it wasn't making the pain go away. she is pretty good about getting up and using the rest room and going back to her own bed. She flipped and flopped in my bed until we got up at 5. She is still complaining about it. the pain isn't where you would typically consider appendix pain. just a little higher. She wanted to eat, and ate 2 toaster strudels. What could be the problem, should i take her in?

Why would my 2 year old complain of back pain?

I would take her to another doctor. A 2 year old shouldn't have back pain unless she was injured there. Maybe the car seat makes her hold her back in an awkward position causing it to hurt. After a few times of being in a bad position for a length of time it can begin to cause constant back pain. Also, the doctor should have ordered precautionary tests checking the kidneys and bladder. If that showed nothing possibly an x-ray. However, I would do the x-ray of a 2 year old as a last resort. You may want to try some padding in the car seat. Something that wouldn't effect the safety yet give her more comfort so that if it is causing pain the padding may help stop it. If the seat is bad you may need to buy another one. You can probably ask her if her car seat hurts her back when she's in it or when she gets out. That way you will know for sure. A 2 year old definitely will be able to tell you if something makes her hurt. I hope it is something very small and fixable. Best wishes.

A while ago i started having lower back pain in the right part of my back is it because of masturbation?

I am afraid that it is your liver. First see the doctor. Test your blood if you have any hepatitis virus in your liver. Then you might want to check your liver with X-ray and Ultra Sound.

A 10 year old has been complaining of severe lower back pain. The nurse notices that he seems weak and a reflex check shows an abnormal response. Kidney stones are soon diagnosed. What abnormality is causing these problems?

Your child could have Medullary Sponge Kidney Disease which has to do with a birth defect. But it may be a few other reasons there could be a parathyroid malfunction which will release too much calcium in the blood which causes kidney stones. A simple blood test can look for this. Your child could have a problem with uric acid and have uric acid kidney stones. Or your child had become dehydrated and was not able to flush out the minerals before they formed kidney stones. You will need to work with a urologist to find out what reason your child has formed kidney stones. Then listen to address what you need to so your child doesn’t have to go through this again. Some things maybe out of your control, but learning what you can do to help your child is most important. Some drinks dehydrate you. So, stop drinking anything with caffeine; coffee, tea, soda and energy drinks. When you become dehydrated your urine will become concentrated and will leave minerals behind in the kidneys to form kidney stones. If you want to give your child a special drink that will be health and safe try water with a bit of fruit juice juice added to ice cold water maybe even a piece of fruit in the water. Be careful not to use or add sugar, don’t want to cause sugar overload. there are even drops to add to water to flavor it.Reduce the intake of salt because it will bind with the other minerals and form sharp edged kidney stone like knives with extreme pains. Salt will raise the blood pressure and cause edema. Which will damage your kidneys.Drink 8 glasses of water every day. Check with the doctor for your child’s safe consumption of water, how much to give them. Drinking the water every day will flush out minerals before they can form kidney stones.Try to reduce your medication of both over the counter and pain medication because it can be very harmful to the health of the kidneys and do damage later in life to the kidneys.I would have everyone in the family follow these rules and this may save your family from kidney damage.

LOWER BACK AND LOWER SPINE PAIN?

It's definatly worth going and getting checked out by a professional. I know in many parents get "new parent" backaches that can last a long time if not taken care of properly and I imagine you are carrying your little girl around often. If it has been happening awhile, you can use heat on it to try and relax the muscles. If it is a newer injury and there could be swelling, make sure to only use ice as you do not want extra blood flowing there and causing more swelling (and more pain when the heat is off). Try calling a chiropractor to help get you back on your feet without pain. Ask family and friends who they use before going to one. I personally like ones that are PALMER graduates. Good luck!

Can shooting pains in the lower back be caused by knots in the upper back?

Every organ of our body needs tender care like child. If it is neglected, it complains in the form of pain. Hence, the solution is to pay attention to pain area. This may be done by either of following ways. It is requested to keep  eyes closed , while lying down on floor/bed , so that attention is not diverted. 1. Just touch the pain area and lightly press muscle around it and feel the pain. You will feel the pain more at the center and less on periphery. But please press lightly to start with. The degree of pain around pain area needs to be felt. Once you continue for some time with patience(say 3 to 4 minutes),you will notice reduction in pain level. I repeat , one needs to be do with patience .2. One may lie down with chest upwards with eyes closed and to lie in a comfortable posture. Just to leave body in a relaxed state. Then to  move attention from pain area to chest area and back to pain area. Once this exercise is comfortable, one needs to match his breathing process (inhaling and exhaling)with movement of attention. That is to say, one needs to imagine that he is breathing -in from pain area to chest area and exhaling back to pain area. This may be done 5 to 10 times slowly. The relaxation one will notice instantly. It is requested that one needs to keep this exercise daily ,even if pain is not there.  Such practice will bring change in overall mental and physical state.

Why does pneumonia cause lower back pain?

Look at this picture. It is the nervous system (not an accurate one, but for illustration, it is a good one). This is the posterior ( back) view. This is an Xray picture of pneumoniaThis is an illustration of PneumoniaThe localisation of pneumonia is gravity-dependent, with that being said, it is usually located at the bottom lobe. (fluid is heavier than air). The lung tissue does not have pain receptors, therefore the pain does not origin from the lung. The pain is cause by the irritation of the pleura ( a sac covering/enveloping the lung). The pleura is very sensitive and during pneumonia, the inflammatory process of pneumonia will irritate the pleura membrane. These causes pain such as chest pain, back pain and even in some cases shoulder pain.

5 year old complaining of jaw pain, any ideas of what it could be?

It might not necessarly be her jaw, it could be the gland right underneath. Even if its just one side, it could still be a gland. She might have a slight infection and her body is just trying to fight it off. Watch for swelling. If not better in a couple days, then just like you said, take her to the doctor. I have the same issue quite often, it actually feels like Ive been hit in the jaw, and it only hurts when touched directly, though the pain radiates down a bit. It might be a bit difficult for her to explain, but feel her neck right under her jaw lines on both sides and see if you can feel swelling. Hope she feels better!

3 months pregnant lower back pain?

You want to be careful with the twisting or lifting. Even though at 3 months you most likely aren't that big, baby is growing fast and can put a lot of pressure and weight on your back and hips. I really felt it with our first and remember asking my midwife. She suggested getting an ace bandange and wrapping it around under the belly (criss cross in the front). It can help take the pressure off. Or you can invest in a maternity belt. I found them to be uncomfortable. Also, you can get on all fours and rock. Let your belly hang and it takes the pressure off. If you have an exercise ball you can sit on it and gently bounce. It helps with back, hip pain. Squats also are great. Those two things will really come in handy the last few months as well:) Also pay attention to how you are sleeping. I know that the body pillow really helped. If you tuck it under your bottom leg while you are laying (on the side of course). That way you can have cushion support. You may need many pillows to get comfortable.
It can make a world of difference if you sleep wrong a night or two. I tended to feel it more standing up after laying down on a harder mattress. However, having a pillow top or memory foam was the best!

Just wait until later when your body starts releasing relaxin. That is a fun time. In prep for birth, our body starts producing and distributing a joint relaxer. Even in your hands! I was constantly dropping things and it made for great entertaintment for my husband lol. That can also cause some hip pain since they spread. Just keep in mind that its all worth it. It will be over then you will have your beautiful baby:)

The other thing to think about (but not stress) is that any pain that lasts longer than 12 hours needs to be reported. Its just a rule of thumb in pregnancy. Since you are able to relieve the pain by laying down, I think you are okay but obviously if it gets worse or changes I'd call. That is what the advise line is for. HAha I remember wearing that number out with our first. When those round ligament pains hit woooo!

Just do what you can and don't hesitate to talk to your doc or midwife. Oh, you can also try warm soaks, don't do hot as it can raise the temp of your amniotic fluid which is a bad thing. However, a nice warm bath is wonderful as an alternative to tylenol.

Best of luck and blessings!
