My Dog Has A Lump On His Back What Could It Be

My dog has a lump on his back?

That sounds like something my Golden Retriever had when I was younger. It was just a lump under the skin, she didn't really notice. The vet did a biopsy, determined it was benign and removed it. It's great that you're taking him to the vet (nice to see a responsible owner) and I wouldn't freak out. Tumor does not mean malignant cancer!! Since it moves around, it's in all likelihood benign. Usually the malignant ones will invade the tissue around them. Good luck, and be sure to update us tomorrow!

My dog has a huge lump on the back of her neck?

at first I thought maybe her collar was too tight, and pushing her fur up on her neck, but I touched it, and it is full of fluid. it feels like you could just pop it with your finger.

she doesn't seem to be bothered by it, like when you poke at it, she doesn't whine, and barely even seems to notice that it's there.

we live in a wooded area, so I was wondering if maybe she was bit by something, but I can't really imagine what would do that to her, if she was bit by a rattler or something, she would be dead... and no spider would make a bump this big... it's like a couple inches high, and a coupe inches wide....

What is this lump on my dog's paw?

Unless it is getting better, get him to another vet.SOMETHING is causing an unusual degree of inflammation. From the picture, it could be a pustule. If it is as big as it appears, and ruptures it will need cleaning at a minimum. Unless you are experienced at wound care you will need instruction!Worst case it could be a tumor. It appears that our vet has rolled this out though.

What is this lump on my dog's back?

The vet will probably aspirate it and look at it under a microscope. I doubt if even an experienced vet (I'm not one) would want to identify based on a photo. It could be an abscess, a fatty growth (lipoma) or other benign lesion or possibly some kind of tumor (including a mast cell tumor).Pet owners (I am most certainly one of those) usually worry ourselves to death over these things but they usually don't turn out to be much. This one looks small enough that - no matter what it is - you probably caught it early. No point in worrying. You did the right thing. You were vigilant. And you made an appointment with the vet.It will be fine.

My dog has a black lump on his neck. What could this be?

Go to your Vet and have them check it out to be safe, Could be a mole or a skin tag but it also could be a skin growth or tumor (which may be benign, or may be more serious) and common in certain breeds of dogs. I had a rescue mutt who had various skin growths over his healthy 14 year life span. I always had them checked out, and if suspicious, they were biopsied (done with a needle, not surgery) and sent off to the lab. An experienced Vet can do a hands on exam and then suggest how to proceed. I was on the side of wanting it checked out completely. I also had a groomer at a certain chain store tell me a growth on top of my dog’s head was just a “zit” …needless to say, off to the Vet he went. Had a biopsy done and they found evidence of mast cells in the growth, the vet said it had potential to grow, and I had them remove it. Better safe than sorry since cancer of all types is showing up more and more in our dogs. Good luck !

Came home today, my dog has a lump on the back of his neck the size of a golf ball, what is it?

It could be one of many things. If it grew to golf ball size in one day its probably an abscess that will need to be lanced and drained. The vet might prescribe antibiotics to control any infection. It might be something else. Any fast growing lump should be checked by a vet.

My dog has a bump on his right back hip?

As with humans, any lump should be checked out. It doesn't have to be cancer but you'll never know till a vet checks it...

My dog has a lump on his back that popped and bled, what is it?

I have a 13 year old poodle/dachshund mix and I noticed yesterday that he had a pretty good sized bump on his back, it was still pretty big today about the size of a penny. He rolled over onto his back and when he got back up it had ruptured and was bleeding, No pus or other fluid came out that I can tell, just a lot of blood, I washed it off and kept it clean, there is still a small bump and the skin is really red. What is this? and should I be worried? Thanks!

My dog has a hard lump on his back between his two front legs... HELP!!!?

I have a pomeranian and he is 1 yr old. The other day i noticed he has a hard lump on his back, it moves when you touch it, and i does not seem to bother him. He did not have this before and it is like it just appeared. Does anyone know what this may be, or has this happened to anyones animals before? I have a vet apointment for him at the end of this week but i am freaking out right now. Any Ideas?? THANKS

My dog has a lump on his spine, what is it?

Did your dog recently get vaccinated? One of my dogs gets a painless lump on his back every time he gets the DHLPP vaccine. It's a pretty common reaction.
If that's the case, it's nothing to worry about, and it'll go away.
However, if it's not the case then you should go see the vet. It could be a number of things.
