I need some legal advice about roommates with flea ridden cats?

I'm living in a house just for the summer with 4 other people, and these 4 roommates have 4 cats. The lease we all signed clearly states not pets are allowed. The cats have gotten fleas, and the fleas bite me. I'm allergic to flea bites, so I also break out in hives and get those all over my body. It's become so uncomfortable, I haven't even been staying at the house (where 'm paying rent) for about 3 weeks. I washed my sheets and vacuumed, and nothing got better. I went back a couple nights ago and slept there to see if things improved over time, and I got more flea bites than ever. I don't let the cats in my room, but a couple times they have gotten in there and peed on my stuff, and they have also been known to scratch at my window when they're let outside at night, waking me up. I plan on moving out early because living conditions with these cats has been so undesirable. My legal question is where or not I'll be able to get out of paying rent for the remainder of my lease, since all this has happened because my roommates violated conditions of the lease.

How do people feel in their last minutes of life?

I had a near death experience once, when I was pretty sure I was 20–30 seconds away from the end. Like, I mean, I was completely sure I was about to die.I remember my feelings at the time, vividly. How could you forget.1: I actually felt very calm. People are scared of death. But once you know it’s happening, and you can’t do anything about it, you find peace. It was actually one of the calmest, most peaceful moments I can recall in my life.2: I was very very reflective. When you hear the stereotypes of “your life flashing before your eyes”, that’s exactly how I felt. I reflected on my life, and who I was, and if I could have done anything better.3: It sounds funny, but I also really had this “well, this is just my luck!” kind of feeling. I actually found it kind of humorous. I was kind of laughing a bit, about how unlucky I was! This experience, actually helped me find a lot of faith. Because, although I was an atheist at the time, I didn’t actually feel like it was the end. I wasn’t thinking in terms of my existence being over. I was almost feeling like I was just moving on from one part of my life, to the next.I, kind of, had no fear, because I didn’t think it was that big a deal? I know this sounds crazy, but all I can say is, that when the moment came, my mind was completely prepared for it. My brain kind of changed, and I understood everything, and was prepared for everything. It’s almost like the human body/brain is completely prepared for it’s demise, but you don’t get to access this skill until you really need it?

Japanese Chins.... separation anxiety? And what's with the cat stuff?

I'm planning on getting a Japanese Chin. I have done lots of research of the breed, and found that it suits me quite well, aside from two small things I might have a problem with.

Do Japanese Chins truly have bad separation anxiety? I am fully prepared that if necessary, to train a dog out of it, but I'd like some real references. I'd hate to come home and find my childhood stuffed animal shredded (since these dogs appear to levitate), because I'm not sure whether the dog would be sleeping in my room anymore. :) Knowing in advance can help me prepare! (I hope I won't be needing clothes any time soon, because my closet will be stuffed to the brim when I puppy proof my room!)

Another thing... and before I continue, please don't call me stupid. I am highly allergic to the cats. To the point that my throat closes up after an hour or two of contact, and I can't breathe, I break out in hives, etc. Everyone claims that Japanese Chins are the most cat-like of all dog breeds, and I'm afraid that it might be because of feline in the breed's family tree? As I said before, please don't call me stupid; it's better safe than oh sorry you just paid $600 for a dog and now you've died in your sleep. :)

Thank you in advance for answering, and have a nice day!

Benadryl and cough medicine...which should I give her?

My baby is 1 1/2....Dr. says she has a cold and to just use the cough medicine (DM) she perscribed months back. She has a miserable cough from the mucus and is very hoarse so I was thinking of giving her benadryl to dry her up. It always worked before but I have been scared to try it because she has been taking this cough syrup...how many hours should I wait before admin the benadryl...she had the cough medicine last at 4:30 and her nose is still pouring.

My shtzu went to the groomers and now his eyes are swelling?

Shampoo would not cause a dogs eyes to swell. If your groomer got shampoo in the eyes, it would only cause a mild irritation that would last for only a few minutes. Just like you and I if we got it in ours. Almost all the shampoos groomers use these days are tear free, just like baby shampoo. Years ago they had harsh chemicals in them, but nowadays they don't,unless your groomer is using human shampoo. And even if she did, it would only be an irritation, and only last a short time. If he was having a reaction to shampoo or cologne, his skin would be itchy or have little bumps on it, kind of like hives. Even getting cologne in his eyes would only sting temporarily. Shi-Tzu's are prone to eye problems, but if he was fine before he went to the groomer, I have a couple of theories. First, when a shi-tzu get over excited or really nervous or scared, they literelly "pop" their eyes out. I've seen it happen. It's a common thing believe it or not. I've actually seen them pop them out so far that they were hanging by thier optic nerves. Even if they pop them out a little, they could get debris behind them, to cause an infection, hence the swelling. Second, when a groomer is clipping around the eye area and inbetween the eyes, some use clippers, some use scissors. Your dog could have gotten "poked" by either of these and has an abrasion on the eye itself. You may not be able to see this without a direct light into the eye. Try a flashlight aimed directly into the eye to see if you see any cuts, etc. Eyeballs don't bleed like flesh does, so don't look for blood, look for indentations or small slits. Sometimes they can only be sceen after the vet put drops in and looks at them with a "blue light". Another possibility is he may have a peice of hair in his eyes. This would be very irritating, and if his natural tears don't remove it after time, it will cause an infection, or could be lodged in his eye just like a tiny splinter. Dog hair when clipped is like tiny little splinters. I get them caught inbetween my fingers all the time, and have even gotten one in my own eye years ago and had to have it removed at the dr. I never saw it with my naked eye.
Benadryl will not help his eyes, although small doses are safe if needed. It's more likely you dog needs an antibiotic for the infection, and a steriod for the swelling.
Good luck and talk to your vet. It might have been the groomers fault, it might not have.
