My Ear Just Started Bleeding

My gauged ears started bleeding?

I come from a family that out of 4 kids, 3 of us have stretched ears. We start around 11-12and continue bigger as we go. Mine are only a 10 since I decided to wait until this year to beginning stretching, however my 20 year old brother and 19 year old sister have been stretching for many years.
My older brothers are a double 0
and my older sisters are an inch and a half.
DO NOT WORRY!
Bleeding is normal as long as it was not continuous for a long period of time. IF they just bled for a little time and did not continue to bleed, you are fine. I recommend that since you just stretched them to not forget to sleep with them in your ears for the first 2-3 weeks to make sure they are not going to suddenly close. IF they bleed, simply check to see if you have torn the lobe. IF you tear the lobe at all, use hydrogen peroxide to clean the earing and the ear. Then put the earing back in your ear if it is not swollen (if it is swollen let it heal for at least 2 weeks) and put a tight bandaide around your ear. That will allow it to heal properly.
But Bleeding is not bad. It is part of the process. Next time I recommend if you continue to use larger gauges, to go by the twos. Now that you are getting smaller, going by a 4 or a 6 will allow for tearing and infections. Be careful!

And also, it is not called GAUGED EARS!
What you put in your ears are earings. They are differnt gauges. Your ears are stretched. For those who have never stretched their ears, their ears are pierced!
You do not have gauged ears, you have stretched ears. If someone says wow what is in your ears you would say "I have stretched my ears for _______long and they are a _____ gauge."
Just a tip for the future. But don't be tooo worried about the bleeding, it will be fine, just take precautions!

If you're just starting to gauge your ears, and they bleed, what do you do?

I want to gauge my ears. I guess my ears were pierced at a 20GA, and I'll have to buy an 18GA taper and plugs. They say that you're only supposed to feel warmth/tingling when you're stretching your ears a gauge down, and if your ear starts bleeding or you're in a lot of pain, take out your taper (not that everyone uses a taper to gauge their ears...) and wait a couple of weeks before you try again.

I've had my ears pierced for 10 years. If my ear starts bleeding and what not, what do I do? Just force it through? I don't think waiting a couple of weeks would help, as I've (in a way) been waiting 10 years, lol.

I'm sorry if I'm being annoying, and I'll ask the piercer this same question when I go to get a taper and plugs, but I kind of want to know right now.

Thank you all!

My ear started bleeding after picking earwax!?

The wax can sometimes stick on the hair of your ear canal. So sometimes that will pull the hairs out and cause a small amount of bleeding. If you pierced your eardrum you would know it. Don't worry. If you ear wax was impacted (like a rock) then it usually does tear a little coming out. Part of the territory.

My piercing started bleeding, need help!?

Bleeding is normal during healing. Even if your piercing is not brand new, it is still an open wound and is easily irritated. You may have slightly tore it inside, or some of the crusty stuff may have ripped the skin..If the piercing is less than 4-5 days old, you may have loosened the scabs. It's no big deal at all.

You can clean it as normal (hopefully you're going to use sea salt solution and not some horrible antiseptic or ear care solution). You may notice some more bleeding right after your cleaning, but that's only because you have loosened the scabs. No big deal.

I would highly recommend not turning or twisting your jewelry. Twisting is no longer recommended for any piercing. It does your piercing absolutely no good at all, and will likely cause a lot of irritation. I also increases your risk for infection because all of the germs on your jewelry will get dragged inside your piercing.

Ear bleeding from stretching 14g?

I just started stretching Sunday. my left lobe is completely fine but my right is bleeding. I used a 14g, and I've had my ears pierced ever since I was two weeks old. I've been cleaning it with soap and water lately as well. when I first stretched them they weren't bleeding. I took them out to clean and put the jewelry back in and I started bleeding a bit. it still continues bleeding, but it's only noticeable when I take the gauge out. what should I do to stop the bleeding? please no mean comments. I wanted to start with a 16g but the store I was at only had 14.

I changed my ear piercings after 3 weeks and one started bleeding when I took it out to change it. What should I do?

I used to manage a tattoo and piercing shop, the same company from the show Inked. It’s important to remember that keeping your piercing clean is the number one rule, and part of making sure that rule is abided by, is also making sure that you don’t touch your ears as much as possible. Using soap without perfumes, alcohols, and scents is preferred as not to agitate the ear. You are smart for waiting the three weeks before changing, but what alarms me is that you’re bleeding. This could be from a few different things.Obviously, the piercing could simply be irritated, and you may take longer to heal. This is a common misconception that is often confused with an infected piercing. The piercing should not be sore after three weeks, and it should not bleed. However, just like tattoos, everyone heals differently.Something else to pay attention to is the way they pierced your ear. If you had it pierced at a piercing kiosk in the mall, you’re probably realizing it was a bit more painful than you thought it’d be. The standard “piercing gun” is the worst way to pierce your ears. It traumatizes the ear. Ear piercing should be done with a sterile hollow needle, and your jewelry should NOT be metal, but instead, surgical grade titanium - the same material used in surgeries and implants. The quickest way to get an infection is to keep touching the piercing with your fingers. Every single piece of bacteria on your hand is being virtually wiped into your piercing every time you touch it or twirl it, or play with it.Without looking at it in person, it’s quite hard to say, “okay, THIS is why your ear is bleeding.”Your best bet is to go right back to the shop you got your ears pierced at, and ask for input towards this situation. Have a licensed piercer look at it and give their professional opinion.Don’t wait to do it, just go. Get your answer and start taking care of it.

I cut my outer ear just now by accident and it keeps bleeding, what do I do?

If you know someone (like me) who still shaves with an old fashioned “safety razor”they might have one of these in with their shaving gearIt’s called a “styptic pencil”… you can get them from any half decent pharmacy for a buck or two. You simply rub them onto any small cut like a shaving cut and it will close up the blood vessels and stop the bleeding. Very handy to have in the first aid kit. This probably doesn’t help you right now though so try something else men used to do when they cut themselves shaving: tear off a small piece of toilet tissue and place it on the cut, allowing it to soak up a bit of the blood and stick to the cut. This will immediately stop the bleeding and act like an artificial scab. After an hour or so you can soak the tissue with water and gently remove it.

Ears are bleeding after gauging my ears?

So I just went from a size 8 to a 6 about 2 days ago and it hurt a lot, I figured it was normal since it was the first of one of the "big jumps" but then I took them out today to clean them and it was all crusty and they started to bleed I put them back in but I don't know If I should take them out and put in my 8 size or just leave them in?
