My Ear Piercing Is Red And Hurts I Am Infected

Hole of ear piercing red? Infected?

I got my ears pierced almost 7 months ago and i havent taken them out until a couple of days ago. One ear hole is fine but the other is red inside it. This ear hole also had those crusties on the back. It hasn't hurt or anything until recently because I've been messing with it. There is no blood or puss, but I'm not sure if my ear is infected.

Is my ear piercing infected?

I've had three piercings on my earloab for a while. On my third hole, there is a bump and it's always red and it bleeds and pus comes out!! Is it infected?

Infected ear piercing?

I just got my ears pierced a few days ago at Claire's. They said that if it is red, swollen, or if it still hurts after 24 hours that I should go to the doctor. My ears hurt a lot and they are red around the piercings. I know I am not having a reaction to the metal or whatever because I have other piercings in my ears (which seem to be fine). What can I do to make this go away? I have been cleaning them with the solution that they gave me about 3 times a day. Is there anything else? Should I go to a doctor? Also, do you think it is okay to take the earrings out for a few minutes to clean them really well even though I'm supposed to leave them in for 6 weeks and I've only had them for a few days?

Ear piercing hurts but I don't think it's infected?

the back of my ear piercing hurts when i touch it and doing the antiseptic stuff makes it hurt more, but then the pain goes away. It's not red or swollen or pussy and it doesn't hurt when I leave it alone. I got it done two days ago. This only happens in one of my ears. The other ear is fine, so I'm not allergic to anything. Is it infected or is it just sore from something?

Hole of ear piercing red and sore? Could it be infected?

try cleaning with saline solution. or 1/4 of salt and 8 oz. of warm or hot water(which ever temperature you can stand) and put either one on cotton balls and let it sit on your ears for about 15 -20 minutes.

How can I get rid of a ear piercing infection? I’ve been wearing earrings consistently for a few weeks and lately I’ve noticed pain inserting and removing them, and my earlobe typically bleeds when I take the earrings out.

The first step would be to stop doing what’s causing you pain. If inserting and removing the earrings causes you pain and makes your piercing bleed, stop doing it.If it’s a relatively new piercing, you shouldn’t be removing the earrings at all. You should have high quality, pure metal studs or hoops that don’t require removal to be cleaned. New piercings need to be kept clean, twisted daily, and they should not be played with. Your piercing may just be taking a little longer to heal than predicted, so you should treat it as if it is still a brand new piercing.Even after piercings have passed the initial “healing” stage (around 6 weeks for earlobes), they should still be treated carefully. Removing and inserting new earrings too often can irritate the piercing, thus causing the pain and bleeding. Using poor quality jewelry can also cause irritation and pain, sometimes even infections if you leave them in for too long. When I was younger, wearing poor-quality earrings for more than an hour would make my ears turn red and itch, so it doesn’t have to take much.If your piercings are mostly healed already, I recommend giving them a breather. My cartilage piercing gives me trouble sometimes even though I’ve had it for a few years now. It occasionally swells up, is hot to the touch, and can get infected if I remove/insert jewelry too often or if my hair gets caught in it. My solution is to remove it, gently clean the piercing area with saline solution, and leave it alone for a day or two. After the piercing site has calmed down, I can then re-insert the earring without any trouble or pain. Please remember that it’s important to use good quality jewelry, especially when you have metal sensitivity or your piercings are irritated or infected. If you notice anything more than slight pain during insertion/removal, please make an appointment with your doctor to look at it. Infections can get out of hand very quickly if you don’t pay attention to the little things, and they can have some pretty serious consequences.

Is my new ear piercing infected or is it normal?

I am not a professional piercer or anything but I have gotten a lot of piercings and you are doing one thing no one should do to a new piercing, and thats touching! Never ever touch a new piercing for at least 4 weeks because your new piercing will get germs and lead to infection and irritation. If its red and swollen, then that could possibly lead to an infection. Clean it regularly with the claire antiseptic you should have recieved when they pierced your ears. Clean it at least 3 times a day. Continue to do sea salt soaks as another answeree mentioned with sea salt (found in any supermarket). The sea salt soaks circulates the blood or something. Never ever scratch your piercing or bother it.

I had an infection for over 2 years on and off and believe me, it could get worse. It basically looked like an oversized pus filled pimple. You need to act now before it gets worse. If your swolleness doesn't go away, by law your piercee is supposed to help you out during the healing process. If it gets worse and doens't still go away, a demertologist or doctor will put on some antibiotics (thats what happened to me) and will hopefully get rid of the swollness.

How do I heal my infected ear piercing?

I just got my ears double-pierced four days ago. The day after I got the piercings, my right ear got infected. It was itchy and red and puffy and sore, so I smeared it with Vasaline. I've been cleaning both ears with the antiseptic the piercer gave me (I went to Claire's) four times a day, and keeping the infected ear covered in Vasaline. It's gotten a little less puffy and red, but it still hurts. What should I do? This is the THIRD time I've tried to have my ears double-pierced, so I'm livid that this is happening again. Both of the other times I just had to give up and take out the earring.

I just opened my ear piercing and it hurts...?

I had two ear piercings that were closed for a year, I asked a question on Yahoo on how to open them, and what I did was rub alcohol and push my earring through it. It opened up. I did this yesterday, now it is red and hurts, I know its a bit infected. what can I do to get rid of the pain and wear my earrings again? And I won't let them close up again. What can I put on it everyday to heal?
