My Earring Started To Sink Into My Ear But I Got Long Posts. Should I Take It Out.

HELP! MY EARRINGS WON'T COME OUT!?

HELP!!!!! I got my ears pierced on my earlobes for a 2nd time im March. It's already November and I still never took them out. A couple of days ago, they started to bother me on my right ear. It was really itchy and a water like substance (or maybe it was puss?) was coming out of my ear when I loosened my earring. I don't know if it's infected, but it stoppped the next day. Then, yesterday it happened to my right ear, and I tried to take the earring out, but I couldn't. I don;t know if it's because I'm not pulling hard enough or what... How do I get them out? I beleive they are called starter earrings? (the earrings they first pierce your ear with) PLEASE HELP!! HOW DO I GET THEM OUT! THEY REALLY HURT!!! THANKS SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! [=

My earring is sinking into my ear?

if your ears are infected/swollen or are developing a lot of scarring then the earring is starting to get embedded in your ear. which if you let go to far, can require professional help to remove or a very painful process of removing it yourself.

or if its not to serious yet...

in the case of swelling, it will go down as long as you keep cleaning it regularly and arent touching it. infections could pose more of a problem if not taken care of quickly, just remember to keep an eye on it and clean it, dont touch it, etc, and if in a week or two it hasnt changed then its best to just take the earring out.

it could also be scarring, which is unlikely this early to have quite so much scar tissue as it seems you have, but it is possible you have some hypertrophic scarring going on, which you can either just deal with and wait for it to go down after up to a few years and sometimes it never goes away, or you can take the earrings out and maybe be left with the scar tissue still there.

alsoooo.... the back of the earring could just be to close to your ear, pull it out farther on the stud so its at the very end of the stud. and/or get longer studs.

What should I do if my earring is sinking into my ear?

Go to a PROFESSIONAL body piercer and have them get you appropriate jewelry for your piercing. Earrings are "one size fits all" types - especially piercing studs, however, ears, on the other hand, are NOT!

A body piercer will be able to get you jewelry that will accommodate the swelling and fit against the ear without damage. If you're not into captive bead rings (hoops), then you can go with barbells or flatbacks (flatbacks are far more comfortable because they lay flat against your head as you sleep on them).

Body piercers have sizes as small as 3/16 of an inch (mostly used for nostrils and upper ear cartilage once healed) all the way up into inches and will be able to get something into your ears that fit appropriately!

Also - STOP TURNING THE EARRINGS! Those "pros" at mall kiosks and shops that pierce with guns were "trained" by watching a 15 minute video and actually know NOTHING about how a piercing is supposed to heal! The more you turn the jewelry, if skin is stuck to it, you're pulling it loose over and over again, causing it to start the healing process all over again.

Ear piercing infection? should i take my earrings out?

It doesn't sound like an infection OR an allergy. Neosporin and hydrogen peroxide will be what is making you think they are infected. Unless they are oozing green or yellow puss they are NOT infected, just irritated. Swollen means they are healing, it is a good sign. Keep the earring in but STOP using what you have been using to clean then, they will be irritating your lobes, making them worse. All you should use is sea salt solutions. Simply dissolve 1/4 of a teaspoon of sea salt or rock salt in 1 cup of water and clean them with that. They should start to clear up in a few weeks. If they don't then visit your piercer and get them to check them out. Also keep in mind that not all titanium is made equal, you can get crappy quality titanium and good (implant grade) titanium. Can I ask where you got the earrings from? and how they were pierced (gun or needle?) Hope this helps you =) EDIT: Okay, well because of where you got them done I would say it is a reaction to the jewelry. They don't use high quality material, not even close, it will not be pure titanium. White stuff is usually okay. Pimple doesn't sound good though. Visit a GOOD piercing place in your area (one that doesn't use guns for instance) and get them to make sure it is the material and not an infection. In the meantime, saline solutions and if you have any chamomile tea, press a lukewarm tea bag against the 'pimple' as this can help as well. Also, because they were done with guns they will be quite tender and inflamed for a while. Guns are bad and this is probably the reason they have flared up like this.

Please help? earring sunk through ear?

You probably have the earring on a setting that's too tight which is putting a large amount of pressure on the earring, pushing the ball into your ear lobe. This is bad for several reasons. Tight earrings prolong healing, irritate the piercing site, can cause infection, & can severely damage the tissue of your ear leaving a permanent scar.

I suggest changing your studs to the same gauge (post thickness) but one's with a larger ball at the end. This will prevent your earring from entering your ear lobe again. Having the ball get pushed into the lobe that way can cause infection.

Also, make sure the back of the earring is on the loosest setting. Trust me, it won't fall off.

Once you change the studs, use hydrogen peroxide, not rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol can damage the tissue & prolong the healing process.

If you think it's infected which would be indicated by redness, excessive yellow crust still appearing at the piercing site 2 weeks after receiving the initial piercing, amounts of blood that would exceed that of a pimple for example, or if there is a small hard lump located inside the ear lobe at the site of the location, which is called a cyst*), you can also put an antiseptic like neoaporin on it 3 times a day.

*if you believe you have a cyst, immediatly remove the piercing, use an antiseptic 3 times a day on both sides of the piercing & promptly call your doctor.

If you still cannot get the ball part of the earring to completely stop entering your ear lobe, return to your piercer for further help.

**always thoroughly clean your hands before touching a fresh piercing to avoid infection**

Help with my cartilage piercing! My stud is starting to sink into my skin..?

i might get a stud with a much better ball on it. Or discover jewelry someplace else that have an prolonged placed up. you're ear needs to get Air together because it particularly is healing, and in the experience that your earring is that tight that plainly like it is sinking into your ear then the placed up isn't long sufficient. i might circulate paying for as quickly as you could and turn to a much better setting up ear ring. stable success

One: keep your ears clean.  Use H2O2 or some other substance to keep your ears clean while they heal.  They sound like they are a little infected, so keep your ears clean and dry for a few days. Two: If you don't want pierced ears anymore, remove all earrings.  If you want to keep your pierced ears, put in earrings while your ears heal.Three: Keep those ears clean and sterile while they heal.  If you like the earrings your father got you, go ahead and keep them in.  However, do tell your father that those kind of earrings are too big for you and you would like a different kind if he ever wants to get more for you.Four: do move the earrings every once in a while, while they are healing.  This will reduce scarring.Remember: pierced ears are a form of scarring.  Streaching the piercing is not a bad thing, but it can be painful.Good luck!  If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask in the comments section.Don't panic!  You'll do fine!

Cartilage piercing sinking into ear and swollen!?

I got two piercings on my cartilage this past weekend with a gun (I know it's bad to have it pierced with a gun but my friends have gotten it done and theirs' were fine!) and it was fine until yesterday until it began to swell up and turn red. And then today, one of my piercings began to sink into my ear!! I tried pushing the back of my earring so that the stud would stick out again, but the moment I stop pushing the back the stud falls right back into my ear T_T I feel like the stud is too tight, but I can't even loosen it because it's sunk into my ear, and it hurts when I move it around too much.

Here's a picture.

all three studs are the same, but it's the top piercing that's very irritated!

My earring sunk all the way in , what should ii do?

This happened to me after I pierced my cartlidge. I had a good size earring in the front but I put a jelly backing on it so it wouldnt get caught in my hair-bad idea. The jelly backing got like swallowed by my skin it was gross. So I just sucked it up and pushed it out even though it hurt like crazy. Then I washed my ear, sterilized it, let it go without the earring for a day, and soaked my earring and a new flat metal backing in alcohol overnight. Then the next morning the swelling had gone down and it looked better just red. So I put my earring back in because I didnt want it to close up. Since then its been fine, and its been almost 2 years. When I sleep I either take it out or lay my head on the side without the piercing so it doesnt hurt. Also try to wear your earring not as tight as long as the backing has a catch built in, if you know what I mean. That helps it heal faster while still keeping the hole.
