My Eyes Have Always Been Blue. Recently They Have Been Turning Brown Green And Yellow. What Does

Blue eyes turned green??

When I was born, I had these incredibly bright blue eyes. They didnt change to brown, like eyes usually do. When I was about 10 they started changing... First they turned a grey-ish colour. Now they are BRIGHT green. When i say green, i mean it. You would probably never see greener eyes on a person.
I went to the doctor and he couldnt work it out.
Has anyone had a change like this, and if so, do you have any idea what went wrong? Or what went right?

Cat's Eyes Changed From Yellow to Green?

For some reason, my cat, who will be two years old in a few weeks, had her eyes change color. They always have been yellow with a small ring of green around her pupil. Lately I've noticed her eyes are slowly changing to a more green color altogether than yellow. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Thanks.

Are my eyes turning green?

Aging is the usual cause of color change over time. Color can change as we age. It does so for 10 to 15% of the normal Caucasian population. These people’s eyes change slowly over many years after they reach adolescence.

Some eyes become darker, but most become lighter with increasing age.in Brisbane, Australia.

Hazel eyes do change color. Hazel eyes, as well as any lighter eyes, usually darken with age. Hazel eyes are light brown or yellowish brown.

The basis of human eye color. Pigment cells (yellow in the figure) contain brown pigment granules (shown in various intensities from neutral to light brown to very dark brown). The lighter the pigment and the fewer the granules — the lighter the iris color and the lighter the eye. The circles on the left depict irises and the colors that result from the corresponding pigment cell. Blue irises result from minimal pigment and few pigment granules. Green-hazel irises have moderate pigment levels and number of granules. Brown irises have high pigment levels and many granules.

Pigment in the front layer of the iris (called the stroma) colors the iris. Eye color lightens when pigment granules drop in number, or when the granules make a lighter color. The iris can also lose color if the pigment degrades.

Eyes, unlike skin and hair, do not synthesize color pigment continuously. Instead, eyes keep pigment granules made earlier. So, if the pigment degrades, the eye color lightens.

Likewise, eyes can darken if the number of pigment granules increase or if the granules make darker pigment.

That’s how the color changes. Why does it change? Genetics

I have always had dark brown eyes. Within the past year or so, from the outside in, my eyes have slowly turned green to the point where now more than 50% of my iris is green. What could cause eye color to change?

The total body is made up of one trillion cells in different sizes and shapes according to the shape and function of organs. The cells are the boss and the worker and the manufacturing unit. The cells have genes which gives the inherited characteristics like color , height, body shape, exceptional qualities, diseases and millions of functions. These genes have the codes for manufacturing Proteins for all functions of the body.Proteins are hormones, enzymes, messengers to carry out various functions of the body as and when required. Each cell is capable of making 100,000 proteins. In your case the dark brown color of your eyes were inherited but as you said that now your eye color is changing to green is due to eye cells are giving instructions by making certain type of protein to change color pigment of the cells which are responsible for the color of eyes as happens to hairs when the color changes in old age.I am in no way an medical expert but in summarized way you can understand that Proteins are responsible for all that happens to the body from birth to death. No one can tell you which protein is responsible for this color change as still research is going on to identify proteins and decoding its structure.Recently Sir John B Gurdon and Shinya Yamanaka was awarded Noble Prize for 2012 for their discovery that mature, specialized cells can be reprogrammed to become immature cells capable of developing into all tissues of the body. This is like rewriting the dogma of life.

How rare are blue green eyes?

VERY RARE ACTUALLY!There are two types of blue green eyes and as i am unsure of which you are referring to, i will give a brief explanation of blue green eyes rather than heterochromia. Here is a picture and example of blue green eyes.DO I QUALIFY?To truly say you have green blue eyes you must demonstrate that there is a hint of green and blue surrounding the iris, this is how we know you are hazel when you have brown or green eyes.WHAT CAUSES THIS?Eye colour is a very complicated process that involves 15 different genes on the molecular scale, but i will TRY to make it as simple as possible when explaining a reason. After some research i have discovered a phenomena called Tyndall effect. This is how it attributes to eye colour(mainly blue).Light that passes through the eyes are diffused.Black and brown irises have more melanin in the layers which absorbs light. When there is no melanin, the layer is translucent, meaning more light enters.A portion of light that enters the iris will be reflected back out into the open air, this is called “scattering”.Long wave lengths are not scattered back into the open as much as short wave lengths as they are absorbed by another layer of the eye.You guessed it the short wave lengths have a blue hue. This is partly the reason you get blue eyesWhen adjusting the melanin and pigments in the eye to a point where you get certain wave lengths reflecting back you can get a blue and green eye colour. Now also note that physics and anything related is not my field of expertise so if i have made an error please correct me!HOW RARE YOU SAY?Well there is no figure but out of the basic eye colours, blue, brown green and hazel, green is the rarest.Approximately 2% of the population has the true colour of green. When mixing blue and green it becomes even rarer!Hope this helpsCorey ForsythReferences:Eye color - WikipediaEye Color Guide - The Most Common Eye ColorsTyndall effect - Wikipedia

How does it feel to have green eyes?

I've read on the internet that only 2% of the Earth's population has green eyes. If this is true, I really do consider myself a miracle. Here's a picture of me, 1 year old.You can see the color here is grey. I don't know what happened but it eventually turned green. Well, not exactly green, but Hazel. Here's a picture of me, 21 years old.Regarding how I felt having green eyes?I would never wear kajal in fear of looking feline.I would always be an example for a recessive character when teachers explained genetics in school.I would be often astonish people and clear their misconceptions by the fact that it's not lens but my true my eye color.I face a lot of starres and multiple glances from strangers for the same.I always admired black color :P

Malamutes blue and brown eyes?

Eyes of two different colors are called "watch eyes". They occur more times than most people know. The breed standard says they can be either/or. Keep looking. I'm sure you will find one. Just please don't make the eye color the only requirement for your dog. Health, disposition, eagerness, these all contribute to a great pet. Make sure to look for them too.

Why do my eyes randomly change color green to blue? Is it normal?

They don't change color, they just reflect a different color. When you think about blue eyes, they are not actually blue. Similar to how ocean water isn't blue, it's due to the Tyndall effect. Blue eyes actually have little to no pigmentGreen eyes have small amount of pigment and the pigment is rather yellow so I believe that mixture of the Tyndall effect plus yellow makes green. So, when you look at it like that, things such as shirts or lighting can make the eyes look different because they will reflect light/the color differently. Even, the color of walls or floor can affect the outcome. Then realizing that lights have different tones. There's natural light but fluorescent light can be rather blue toned and incandescent light is rather yellow.Blue eyes in incandescent light can look teal or green in that lighting.

How do I know if my eyes are hazel or brown?

i'd say they are hazel.. my eyes have green & yellow in them and they are considered hazel..

What causes the iris of the eye to turn yellow?
