My Facebook Is Private But When Someone Searches For Me You Can See Things I

How can I do advanced people searches on Facebook? I'm trying to find a girl I met, and I know a few details about her (but not her name), but Facebook doesn't appear to allow me to specify females with specific profile details.

There are, at the moment, 1.44 billion active Facebook users which is almost about a seventh of the world’s population of 7 billion. Finding someone halfway across the world only by their name can be quite a daunting task. There would be hundreds of Sarahs and Johns with Facebook accounts. But you’d soon realize that Facebook advanced search is a robust tool that helps you refine your search using certain filters to efficiently find someone. Here are a few easy steps telling you how to use Facebook’s advanced search so you can find that long, lost childhood friend of yours:-Step 1 of using Facebook advance search:-Go to Facebook and log in to your account. You will reach your homepage.Step 2:Type the name of the person/celebrity/page you want to search for in the search bar. You can also add the name of the city the person lives in, or the school they studied in, or any other details you know, right after the name to further enhance your search. Here, for instance, we have typed “Adele New York” to look for a person with the name Adele who lives in New York.Step 3:Click the magnifying glass to view the complete list of results and to refine your search.Step 4:You can filter the search on people, pages, groups or apps on this screen. You can also search for photos and places. When you specify it to people, you get the result for people named Adele who live in New York.Step 5:To further simplify your search to only people you may know, you can use the Find Friends option. This can be found under your friend requests.Step 6:Scroll down to the Search for Friends option on this screen.Step 7:Now you can put in the details of the person you are looking for, such as their city, their school or college, their employers or your mutual friend(s), and see the results!Hopefully, you will find whoever you are looking for using these useful search filters. It is definitely more convenient than having to sift through a list of hundreds of people with the same name, trying to recognize them from the tiny thumbnails of their profile pictures. In case you are searching for some long lost friend and couldn’t find them, do comment and we’d try to help as much as we can. In case you are trying to find an option of doing something opposite of trying to get in touch with some, check out our post about blocking and unblocking a Facebook friend.

Can someone still see my posts if they block me on Facebook?

I really wonder why this question is asked so often. The function of a BLOCK on Facebook is to disconnect in every way the person blocked. So, if an existing friend Blocks you, you mostly cease to exist in their Facebook world. They also mostly cease to exist in your Facebook world. The Block is not an absolute Chinese Wall, however. Blocking someone may not prevent all communications or interactions (example: in apps or groups there may be some visibility between the blocker and the blocked). Blocking only affects your interactions with that person on Facebook.Since they initiated the block, you will not appear in anything on their news feed or timeline and they will not appear in anything on your news feed or timeline.Since their action effected an “unfriend” result, there is no way for them to remain in your Friends list on your profile. That is pretty simple. The only way to remedy this is for them to UNBLOCK you on their account. If they never do that, you will never see them or anything they post, comment, reply.Even if they post, comment on someone who was a mutual friend. You will not see the comment in the mutual friends post or comment stream. You might see their name in the comment or posts by someone else as long as the name is not actually a tag. In other words, not every one with the same name will be blocked from you, only the one with a name that has the connection to their account.Facebook only talks about Blocking as an action YOU do so you have to figure out the flip side when someone blocks you.You can block someone to prevent them from seeing things you post on your profile, starting conversations with you or adding you as a friend. Blocking someone you're friends with will automatically unfriend them.People you block won't be able to:See things you post on your profileTag you in posts, comments or photosInvite you to events or groupsStart a conversation with youAdd you as a friendWhen you block someone, you also won't be able to do things like start a conversation with them or add them as a friend. Keep in mind that blocking someone may not prevent all communications or interactions (ex: in apps or groups) and only affects your interactions with that person on Facebook.Note: When you unblock someone, you won't automatically be friends again. If you block a friend and then unblock them, you'll need to send them a new friend request.

How can I view someone's Facebook if they have blocked me?

This is an updated answer regarding all the 23 answers to this question! If you happen to have sent any messages to the person who have blocked you on Facebook, open Messenger and see the details (like school attended, working at) under the profile picture of that person. Because this will help to narrow down the results while doing search. Or, if you already know some details or Facebook username of that person, it’s great! Now, either you ask your friends’ favor or logout. and then search for that person’s name on an app or browser. If there are too many persons under same name, use the information obtained from point no.1 [above]. This will narrow down the search results! Now, you can find and view the person’s Facebook profile even if they have blocked you.CaseClosed™

How can Facebook show what I posted on someone’s wall when someone is searching for me?

How can Facebook show what I posted on someone’s wall when someone is searching for me?It is because what was posted was permitted as visible to the searcher. This is based on the level of visibility assigned to the original post by the original poster. For example if you posted to someone's wall and made it only visible to you and said friend, no one else will see it but you two. However, if you post on your friends wall and make it visible to the entire planet, anyone would have the necessary permissions to possibly see it if their search retrieves it.Thus when facebook is searching for a person's name, the search can also turn up things that are publicly associated with your name. That is, things, things you may have posted publicly ( made visible the world). You may be able to edit those posts afterwards (to make them more private) but you may have to ask a friend to search your name and find the public posts.

I'm using Incognito mode for Google searching but Facebook still shows ads relevant to my searches. How is that possible?

Before you jump into conclusion, you need to be sure about what “Incognito Mode[1] ” is!Privacy mode or "private browsing" or "incognito mode" is a privacy feature in someweb browsers to disable browsing history and the web cache. This allows a person to browse the Web without storing local data that could be retrieved at a later date. Privacy mode will also disable the storage of data incookies and Flash cookies. This privacy protection is only on the local computing device as it is still possible to identify frequented websites by associating the IP address at theweb server. So as that said, with Incognito Mode secures your local browsing but still the ISPs and Web Servers does have your access to your browsing history, which can be sold. Also the cookies act too important role here. Cookies during Incognito Mode are saved in temporary folder, and they get purged after session ends. But when browsing Facebook and Google in the same session, they both share same cookies folder and cookies help to send tailored ads to users.Incognito is only for you to hide locally because nothing’s private; not now, not ever!CaseClosed ™Footnotes[1] Privacy mode - Wikipedia

Is it possible to find someone on Facebook using their phone number?

One question that’s often asked by Facebook users is, can you search Facebook by phone number to find your friends? The Answer: It’s no longer possible. Up until April of 2018, users were able to use the Facebook phone number search to easily find their family and friends. So, what exactly happened? We discuss this below along with another way to search a phone number. What Happened? The disappearance of the Facebook phone number search feature began with the Cambridge Analytica Scandal in March of 2018. If you don’t know what happened, Cambridge Analytica illegally gained access to and used the data of 87 million Facebook users. The information was collected via a personality quiz app.In light of this MAJOR data breach, Facebook had to change most of its user privacy policies. One of the things that was changed was the removal of the Facebook search by phone number feature. Even though this search option made it easier for users to find their friends, family, and those who live internationally, the company had a valid reason for removing it. They claimed, “malicious actors have also abused these features to scrape public profile information by submitting phone numbers or email addresses they already have through search and account recovery”, according to their blog post. However, is it still possible to do a Facebook phone number search to find someone you know? There’s Another Way To Search For Someone! It is possible to use online phone lookup services, like Kiwi Searches, to search a phone number and see if the person’s on Facebook. Is there a way to make myself unsearchable on Facebook?

It used to be an option ... but I don't see it anymore. I don't want to be searched, I don't want to show up in suggested friends, I don't even want friends of friends to be able to find me (easily). The only thing I could find was changing who could and could not look me up by phone number or email address.
