My Family Is Moving To The United States

Do you regret moving to the United States from your country of origin?

regret not so much an actual regret but I do miss my home some what...........I came to the USA to be with my husband, we based our decision to live here on several factors...main one being that he was in the US Navy and could not extend his tour of duty in the UK again...so I gave up my house, my career, uprooted my children to the USA and here we settled...........I am very lucky in the fact that my parents are more than able money wise and health wise very able to travel over here and spend time in the USA, would I like to go back and live in the UK, more than likely not but that also does not mean that I would want to spend the rest of my life here in the USA either............If I had to remain in the USA till I die then so be it, I do not regret giving up one thing to be with my husband.

If I want to move out of the United States with my family of 8, what countries would you recommend and why?

Without knowing more details, here’s where I would move if I were you.In Asia:Singapore - safe, great public transport, “foreigner-friendly” cultureCons: high cost of living, unless you’re an expat. Can’t own properties that you can pass down to the next generations, most expire after 99 years. Overall culture tends to be very competitive, from schooling to professional lifeIndonesia - Cost of living is cheap. You can live in many different places, from big cities to beach towns. Rich culture and heritage. All kinds of food cultures.Cons: still a 3rd world country, political and religious unrest can happen (has happened many times before)In Europe:France/Germany - if you want free higher education for your kids. Great work life balance, people start their jobs with 4–6 weeks paid vacation days for entry level positions. Plus all the ridiculous holidays they have there.Cons: higher taxesSwitzerland - I heard great things about it. Not sure tho :DIn the Americas:Canada: similar to US in terms of culture, supposedly better health careCons: higher taxes, some place really cold in wintertime :D

How can i convince my family to move to California?

How about when you turn 18, you move there and realize how hard it is to live there! Your parents will be paying double (or even TRIPLE) the amount of what they're paying right now.

California is not some magical place where there are no problems, the weather is always perfect, and they have a chance to meet a celebrity or become one. Do you realize what you are asking your parents to do?

-Give up their jobs
-Give up their friends
-Move to a MUCH more expensive location. Did you ever stop to think how much it cost to live here? The average home price is $400,000 which means your mortgage would be about $2,800. Renting a 3 BR home would be about $2500-$3000 in a decent area. Try asking your parents how much they pay in rent or mortgage each month.

Plus, consider it good luck if they even find a job as California has a 13% unemployment (higher than the United States average.)

Decent prices start at $1000 mo. for either an extremely small studio or a 1bd/1ba apartment if you're lucky. There is no such thing as $550 mo. here. A minimum waged job alone will barely pay the rent. Remember, you guys needs to eat, you guys also needs water, gas, electric, personal hygiene, etc.

If you live in a big beautiful 4bd/3ba, 3000 sq. ft. home with an acre of land for $275,000, you WILL NOT find that here in California!

When my aunt and uncle got married, they both bought a small 700 sq. ft. 2bd (might I add REALLY SMALL bedrooms) and 1ba. home in Long Beach for $600,000!

Try convincing that to your parents!

PS - A MAJORITY of celebrities got started in acting IN THEIR HOMETOWNS (meaning nowhere NEAR LA.)

Perfect example is Britney Spears. She was discovered in her hometown of Louisiana.

There are LOTS of opportunities in Atlanta to be famous! Usher and Soulja Boy did it. Just ignore your stubborn ways and do it and by the time you move to California, you'll have a long resume.

Im scared, my family is moving to anchorage, alaska?

sucks to be you
personally I wouldn't move there either, but you are stuck
raping is everywhere, not just Alaska and you don't need to fish or hunt there either, there are plentry of stores

Anchorage is a major city, though not on the same caliber as New York. The weather is also worse too, but you do have some great scenery. You can make new friends and gthere will be plenty of places to hang out too

my advice, if you don't like it there, move out when you turn 18

Can a 16 year old move to USA without family?

I don't know where you're from, and that makes a difference, but unless you have parent/guardian permission, you can't legally move there. I would like to answer your question further, however, not knowing where you come from, I'm finding it hard to help any further. However, I will say this, it is possible, however may be difficult. Again, this depends where you are from, and also what level of schooling you want (High School, College, Uni.) And when you want to move. And before people way that you can't get into Coll./Uni. when you are 16, it is possible, so I was just covering the bases
