My Female Dog Keeps Attacking My Older Male Dog

How do I stop our older alpha female dog from attacking a younger female dog?

Are you talking about a *real attack* (which means the older dog is intending to cause harm and is biting the younger dog causing real harm)? If so, rehome a dog. Two females that have once gotten into a *real fight* have about a 1% chance of ever being safe/happy together after that (males are much more forgiving and much less likely to do actual harm to each other, though they do make more noise about it).For anything less than actually drawing blood, supervise, tell them to knock it off, and let them work it out. Young dogs are butt-heads and older dogs have the Sacred Duty to remind them to stop being butt-heads. Muzzle-slapping, growling, charging, knocking the other dog down, etc, are all normal and not likely to progress to actual violence. I would just keep them supervised when together until they work it out.

Why does my female dog attack my older male dog?

It sounds like some kind of conflict as occurred. But what that is, well you'd need to see a behaviorist or trainer to figure it out.

Its not uncommon for two dogs to fight, what you need to be worried about is when the fight causes blood.

Where and what are they doing when these fights happen? Is it around food or a toy? that could mean that she is possessive or protective of her "stuff"

You need to observe more as what is going on around them and what they are doing..what position are the ears, their body posture etc.

Why would a female dog attack a male dog?

Some female dogs will not allow a male's amorous advances. It's happened to me several times.Years ago I was pleasantly surprised when a well known German judge approached me to send me a great, young Rottweiler female. When I received her she was astounding! We finished her AKC and Canadian championships in record time. All her tests, eyes, heart, hips, elbows, thyroid came back as excellent. Her pedigree was full of champion sires and dams. So, I decided to breed her to the most genetically compatible dog I could find.Minor detail, she'd rather die than be bred. Nobody sells a female of that caliber unless something is wrong with her. Lesson learned. Then there are females that are animal aggressive and hate everything other than humans. Same sex, opposite sex, age, size, made no difference. There are also females that are highly selective and will only allow the stud of her liking to approach her.Dogs are as diverse from one another, as we are, in all aspects.

How Long should I keep my male and female dog separated?

My female puppy is 7 months old and has recently experienced being in heat. That was over 2 weeks ago and my 2 year old male dog keeps trying to attack her sexually. How much longer should I have to keep them apart until he calms down?

Why did my friends male dog try attacking a female in heat?

First of all, dont start the whole animals in shelters thing, i know milllions are killed and it wasnt even me trying to breed i had my male neauterd yesterday,

Well my friends has my males brother cause she gave us one when her female had puppies and she kept one
But he is 1 & 9 months old, an American bulldog, and they tried breeding him to a female Ambulldog but before they brought the female into his yard they let them meet between a fence since this is his first time breeding, but he showed lots of agression so we tried trunign her around and letting him sniff he sniffed but still showed agression,

Why did he do that because when his mom came in heat he tried mounting her, but he didnt even seem to know that this female is in heat

My 4 year old australian shepherd keeps attacking my 2 year old australian shepherd for no reason.I have 4 .?

too many assume that neutering will alter established behavior and this is not necessarily true. If the older male held dominant or alpha status before the younger male came along, he will treat the younger one as a threat. This is normal behavior. Just because the older one is neutered does not mean he still will not try to mate thus keeping the alpha status. This will get worse if a female comes into season as he sees the younger one as more of a threat. Much has to do with their age when they first came together. When the older one was intact, did you have the younger one? This would explain much. As a former breeder I have had to deal with this in both my dogs and my cats. To this day though no longer breeding cats, my last Tom who is now neutered along with my other males, will still go after the other males on occasion to re-establish alpha status. Once the younger one has been neutered and there is no females to come into season this action will begin to alleviate itself.

My dog keeps attacking me. Helppppp! I have a 5 moths old male belgian malinois and when he gets too excited he bites me.?

Well as mean as everyone is being about it they are not wrong this is quiet an Advanced breed for a new owner. he is Young still you could take him back but if you really want to keep him hard work is in sight for sure. since you're new at this an obedience class is a great option for you. also keep in mind these dogs are extremely active and need to be "busy" most of their day. You will need to give him a ton of exercise, an hour walk/run 2-3 times a day minimum I would say and when you're not running him, teach him tricks lots and lots of tricks. of course try to take him away from his biting habit, teach him tricks or commands and make sure he understands the command NO, or STOP or whatever word you prefer and be extremely persistent when you think he's going to bite take his mind off it right away give commands like sit, lay down, roll over, make him do things so he becomes too busy if that makes sense they love to work and be busy and be on missions so weather he has a backpack to carry when you walk or you constantly give commands so he is preoccupied he should grow out of it. Do not hit him though as much as we think it teaches them something for animals it really doesn't. they don't understand violence. their only response to that is more violence so more biting so don't waste your time hurting him it wont help I can promise you that.
If he likes to play then AWESOME make him run tons by just throwing a toy ( that way you get to rest a little too haha) on the leash, never let him go ahead of you, you want to be the boss not him. you give the orders and he listens that's how it is. even if he's adorable resist otherwise you'll suffer later on! You can fix this issue but you have to work very very hard! maybe go on YouTube and find new tricks if you don't know and maybe get a clicker too they work amazing with some dogs if you use it properly. He will be eager to constantly learn so make sure you have a long list of tricks in mind !! hope this helped a little! I wish you the best of luck im sure you can do it just work hard!!

My dad bought 2 dogs; a male and a female. Both 1 month old. I'm scared of dogs. How do I prevent them from biting me?

I am not a dog expert. But I have spent a long time of my life with many of my pet dogs. Dear, at first, I want to assure (yes, assure) you, they usually DO NOT BITE anybody.Actually, I dont want to remember you that dogs are domesticated by human for thousands of years. It is one of the reasons that they are evolved to stay with us peacefully. And they are enough intelligent to feel that, biting a man will ruine the relationship between its master and itself, i.e. peace. But, if I am asked to say a single feature of pet dogs, I will say, THEY REALLY LOVE THE PERSONS WITH WHOSE THEY LIVE AND THEY NEVER THINK OF BITING THEM.Yes, sometimes, unwanted things happen when they are mistreated in their childhood or change home in adult ages. But, you luckily have two little puppies, too innocent and ready to understand you, appreciate you, please you and save you, even for the cost of their lives. So, you dont need to PREVENT them at all. Just (and please) try to love them a little. I can bet you that they will become your best friends in a short time. Here are some easy tips to make a little puppy social:Try to keep them free (not tied) if you have a fenced house or if possible.Never hurt them. Never be hursh to them.Let them play with new people (friends, guests, children)Try to spend some times of your day with them. They really love to be pampered!Good wishes.
