My Five Month Old Pup Keeps Escaping

5 month old puppy still peeing in house, even after he was just let out! Why and how can i fix it?

Males will mark their territory, especially if they are not neutered. The first thing you need to do is have him fixed. Thoroughly clean and deodorize the areas where he has been going. You need to use an enzyme remover/neutralizer. Then be consistent on your training techniques - NEVER hitting him or rubbing his nose in his mess. Positive reinforcement will get better and faster results. Keep him on a feeding schedule.

I don't know what size your puppy is, but small dogs tend to take longer to housebreak than larger dogs.

I HAVE a 4 month old puppy, shes has fleas?!?

For starters you should not use either dishwashing soap or even people shampoo on puppies as their skin has a different pH than we do. The soap can be causing her skin to dry out.

At 4 months, she is old enough for you to place her on flea and tick preventative. Please don't respond with 'it's too much money', it's a once-a-month preventative that will stop fleas and ticks. This can also protect your puppy from heartworm as well as other parasites that fleas can infect your puppy with. And it can prevent your puppy from getting re-infected from your mom's dog. You should also start with a flea and tick shampoo made for puppies.Don't bother with a flea collar as it will only protect the neck and some dogs can be allergic to them.

Then take her blanket/bedding, etc, and wash them in hot water and bleach. This should slow down fleas.

You might need to use a 'flea-bomb' for your home as well, as fleas and their eggs can be scattered around the house and can continually hatch and re-infest your dog.

My German Shepherd keeps escaping.?

If he was better off with you at 5 weeks old he must have been in a DREADFUL situation!

A dog should NOT be left unsupervised in a yard.
For a fit GSD, a 5ft fence is just a minor hurdle. It will NOT do.

Ignore the advice to get a proximity-activated shock collar - they sometimes work, but there is a lot of training involved, and you might as well put that time into REAL training. In conjunction with a decent physical fence they are effective, but most people use them to avoid building a real fence - the result is that when there is a STRONG stimulus the dog races straight through the pain-barrier the shock collar produces, but once they finish their chase the shock stops them from coming back ONTO your property. BAD!

I have no idea what a "steel check chord" is - the meanings of chord that I know are to do with music or to do with joining the tips of an arc. But when you have be away from home for an extended period and can't take your dog with you, you must pay a licensed boarding kennel to look after your pet.

You have 2 choices - give him the run of the house while you're away, or build a roofed security run.
As he has chewed a hole through the wire you used first time, you now know that that is not adequate. You MIGHT have to use welded reinforcing steel. For most GSDs you can get away with woven hurricane mesh, but if that's what your lad bent a hole through, it is not strong enough for him.
The run must be at least 12 feet long between the gate and the raised sleeping box, and the box should have a lightweight flap that is top-hung so that it closes automatically once he has gone through. Dogs CHEW, so the flap and the door-hole need to be framed in aluminium, and there should be about an eighth-inch/4mm gap all around the framed flap.

As he is 5 months old the pair of your should be in a training class so that you learn how to be an effective trainer and so that he learns to pay attention regardless of what other dogs & people are doing.

For how long can I leave my 2-month-old puppy home alone?

3 hours tops! The rule of thumb is age of the dog in months plus one. This rule is for an average to large dog. Small dogs can’t hold it that long most of the time.Crate: Someone told you really, really wrong. Learn that a crate is a “safe place” for animals that den. Dogs den. If you are doing it right, your dog should see that is HER safe place. There are dozens of articles on line and in magazines on how to crate your dog. Read them. who ever told you that you”shouldn’t let her in an enclosed crate” doesn’t merit your attention.Roaming around the house freely: would you leave a 4 year old child roam around the house freely? The dog will not be reliably house trained for months, perhaps as long as a year, depending on the breed. You can’t get pee out of shoes, or pillow, or sofas ….Back yard is fine IF you know that the dog will likely be stolen in a very few days and may only be resold or it may be used as a bait dog in a dog fighting ring. They don’t euthanize the bait dogs but just let them bleed out. Think about it.

Dreams where puppies are trying to escape?

You got some interesting dreams (i think I have previously answered one succesfully).

Appart from stressing that you are the person who knows about the symbols that your subconsious is using, I would say that this dream means that you want more fredoms, but also that out of the safety of the garage might be wet and rainy!
Therefore, you either set them free and stop worring for them, and let them learn how to deal with things, or you keep the door close and every time that you open it you will have such an issue.

This you have to relate with your life, cose I dont know much about u!? but i know that you do!

I have a 10 Month Old Cockapoo...?

who does not listen at all. Is this common for puppies? Shouldn't he know better by now. He will listen when i say sit but I i tell him "no" "stop" "come here" he just ignores me completely. He barks constantly at nothing too. Last night he escaped outta the house when i was going outside and he would not come back inside. Finally, i got his lease and went out to get him (but he runs from me when i try to go after him - he thinks its a game). And when i got outside he was no where to be seen...FINALLY i saw a shadow of him about 40 yards down the road(it was very dark out) and a car was coming. This situation made me very nervous and now i need some help. I dont want anything to happen to him but he doesnt listen at all. And he is scared of everyone but me and his other mommy. I would have taken him to a obedience class but there are none in my area (im from a very small town) and i always have him hooked up when we go outside..he just escaped this time. Please..any advice
