My Foundation Always Dries Out Help

My foundation always looks caked on and blotchy?

I agree with "Kateepuff" as well. Make sure your skin is moisturized. Something else you can try is spritzing a bit of MAC Fix + of Evian Spray (I prefer Evian) to your face before and after foundation. I've found that it helps the foundation to "sink into" your skin.

Also, i think you may be using the wrong foundation. Just because it's expensive -doesn't mean it's good for your skin. What works on others just may not work for you. I personally hate MAC foundations because I have super dry, sensitive skin -but it might be great for others to use. I've had "caking" problems with MAC Studio Fix as well so I'm thinking you may want to try Make Up For Ever or NARS.

MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Foundation is great for those with more normal to oily skin and MAKE UP FOR EVER is good for normal to dry skin. I love NARS Sheer Glow foundation -which is moisturizing and gives my skin a dewy finish.

I highly recommend that you stop using MAC foundation because it seems like that may be the root of the problem. Also, how does the Smashbox primer work for you? I like that stuff but I know that it dries some people out. I'm not sure about the powder because I've never tried it -but that could be a product that doesn't work for you.

Take out whatever doesn't work for you and replace it. If you like the primer, get a new foundation and keep the primer. If you like the foundation, get a new powder etc.. I really believe that this caking is caused from one of the products you're using.

Why does my foundation always oxidize on my face?

I have the same issue for past 10 years, i have the oiliest skin than anyone I have known, I used to blot 8 times a day with makeup on. I have been using colorstay for 10 years as well.

Here are my tricks:
-I use a very light gel moisturizer (Clinique DDM Gel, Proactiv green tea moisturizer)- creams and lotions just make me sweat on my face in humidity. I dont use primer because colorstay just slides off my face
-apply colorstay, let it dry first then apply powder so makeup doesnt blotch or smudge.
-THEN, I use a a very drying loose powder, this is the reason colorstay is staying longer on me. I have tried over 45 types of finishing loose powder. Here are my favorites: MUFE HD powder, its finely milled white powder ($30). The knockoff version of MUFE HD Powder is ELF HD loose powder ($6). This stuff really dries out any shiny spots. If you prefer a powder with color, the thickest loose powder I have found has been Avon Loose Powder in Light Medium.
-After Im done with powder, I spray my face with a lightly mist spray by mark makeup, I think its called mist opportunity. Another one i love is MUFE mist. Mac has one too, and so do alot of other companies, I have tried them all they all made me oily in few hours. using a spray has helped me tone down the powdery look and minimize oily mess
-then I use any blotting sheets to soak up oil all day.

like i said earlier, i have the most oiliest skin of anyone i have known, I have taken meds to correct it internally but nothing as worked.

Why does my foundation ALWAYS look cakey?

Every time I apply foundation it looks extremely cakey and gross. My skin is oily but the surface is dry. I exfoliate a lot to get rid of the dryness and I moisturizer before I apply foundation. Whether I use a good primer or not, my foundation looks fake and just sits on top of my skin. I've tried using brushes, sponges, my fingers, nothing makes it better. It looks cakey even before I apply powder and then when I apply powder to control oil it makes it worse. Also, what kind of foundation should I try if the surface of my skin is really dry but it produces oil throughout the day? Please help!

Foundation always separates and looks weird on my nose. Why does this happen?

Very simple. Happens because your nose secrets too much oil. To control the level of oils in your skin, make sure you are using skin care products as per your skin type.Always start off with a primer. Primers helps to give you a flawless and seamless base while mattyfying the skin as well. Use a light weight foundation and blend it well. Also, make sure to control your pores. Whenever i wear foundation it always looks cakey and uneven?

ok put a medium blob on the back of your hand and then dab it dot on your cheeks chin nose and fore head using ur finger. then use your fingers of a sponge to rub it in.
i prefer to use a matt mousse foundation as it had a sort of powdery feel to it after it has been applied.

Why does matte foundation make my skin dry?

Matte foundations are designed to reduce the shine on your skin. For this reason, they are made to absorb excess oil, which is the culprit for the shiny surface you see on many people’s faces. They work great for people with oily skin because it reduces the visible oil on the surface of the skin. However, if you have dry skin, matte foundations could actually work against you , making your skin drier than before. I always recommend my clients with dry skin to look for a matte foundation with a moisturizer. This will help to lock in the moisture on your face while giving you that beautiful matte look.

Why does foundation make my face look dry?

Before you put on your foundation make sure that you moisturize your skin, this will help your skin to look radiant and healthy. After you moisturize your skin put on a bit of primer just to make your foundation last. Another tip, look for a good foundation that suits your skin type like if your oily, combination, dry or normal skin. You can always ask to those sales ladies or make-up professionals for assistance inside the store. I hope I was able to help you. Good luck and have a good day!

Does wearing foundation dry your skin, or make it more oily?

Many foundations do dry out skins, because they are meant to absorb oil and reduce shine. Cheap liquid foundations can increase the oily look, which is why I use Neutrogena Skin Clearing makeup when I opt for liquid. It helps fight that oily look. However, this is why I always, always, ALWAYS moisturize ten-fifteen minutes prior to applying foundation. It gives the lotion enough time to absorb to keep the makeup from overdrying my skin.

Foundation drying scabs out?

Some acne treatments are more effective than others. Not all treatments will work for everyone because there are various factors that can cause acne. So if your acne is severe, you should see a dermatologist. For most people, though, the following natural remedies should work just as well.

Using an exfoliant, a mixture applied to the skin to get rid of dead skin cells, can help clear up acne. Using an exfoliant daily helps clear up blackheads by cleaning out the oils and dead cells that cause them. Inflamed blackheads can turn into red pimples. So to stop this problem from spreading, it helps to use an exfoliant. You can make a simple and effective exfoliant at home if you don't want to buy them at the store. Apply a mixture of oatmeal, molasses, and olive oil to your skin. If you keep your face clean between treatments, this can help to clear up your acne, though it make take a little time.

You can also try taking olive leaf to help clear up your acne. Taking this potent anti-fungal plant is best done in supplement form. Olive leaf is an effective way to clear your acne because it cures the bacteria and viruses that can cause the acne. You can increase the effectiveness of your other acne treatments by taking olive leaf. Including olive leaf in your daily routine is a good idea because it is also has many health benefits for the whole body.

Another natural acne treatment to try is aloe vera gel. This is available in many drugstores, health food stores and online stores. You can use this save and beneficial plant based product on your face several times a day. You should ideally get a variety of aloe vera products, including a soap you use to wash your face, a lotion and a gel. Before going to bed at night, apply the gel to your face. The aloe vera is very gently so you don't have to wash it off. Drinking aloe vera juice can help your body detoxify faster which clear up your acne more quickly.

You don't have to live with red and black pimples for the rest of your life. Not all acne remedies work the same for everyone but with a little patience you can find an effective treatment for you. Try the treatments just discussed to see if one or more can help clear up your acne. While it may take some determination to get rid of your acne, it can be done.

Why does my foundation and concealer flake when I put it on?

Ok every time I put on concealer or foundation it always flakes in places like under my eye, or the nose. If not, it looks sort of scaly and not smooth. Can anybody tell me why? And I'm using products from well known companies like Clinique and Covergirl. I'm also using my fingers to put it on, if that makes a difference?

So what should I do?
