My Fps Has Gone Down For Some Reason Why

How do you increase FPS in games?

My computer specs are Dell Dimension 2400 series, Intel Celeron CPU 2.20Ghz with 1 GIG DDR400 PC-3200 RAM (two 512 sticks). Recently I have upgraded my computer to this 1 GIG RAM from 256MB, which surprisingly heaps a lot with my online game. But one day as an event started, my FPS went down to 0.03 which sorta surprised me since i expected it to increase a fair bit from this upgrade. So my question, just like the title, is how do i decrease this extreme lag, and increase FPS by A LOT! I heard I should put in a graphics card, which will help a lot, since I am running on a dell integrated extreme graphics card. If this is the case, can someone suggest a good graphics card that i could use which will increase the FPS dramatically. And any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What can be a reason behind a sudden FPS drop in games?

Laptop, gaming and s drop after some time brought one thing to my mind: overheating. Overheating is a common issue in laptops, especially on gaming. Check if your laptop is overheating from sides and below.About the fps drop, it is possible that there's a running process/service, possibly an OEM software that watching the temperature of your video card and/or cpu, switching them to some cooldown mode if necessary.Check for these possibilities.Another possibility is your laptop is switching to power-saving mode somehow, maybe some OEM software prevents your input invalidating the power-modes countdown (because games take user input exclusively to themselves), so your device switches power options after a specific duration. This comes in to my mind because you say "sudden fps drop after some time".And of course your battery or charging adapter/cable might be faulty, causing problems. You can detect them easily in games but not easily on desktop. What I suggest you is, make a fresh OS installation without any unnecessary OEM software or anything and try. If the problem persists, it's possible that your problem is related to hardware, otherwise you will know that it's software fault. That way you can narrow the possibilities.

Why did my fps in Fallout 4 suddenly go from a stable 60 fps to 7 fps for no apparent reason?

I have absolutely no idea, with the information I have to go on.Of course, you did a reboot, confirmed you local files with Steam and checked Task Manager to see if processor, RAM or HD was maxed out, right?Did you recently update a video driver? If so, did you try rolling it back?Did you install the huge, HD texture pack? If so, do you have enough VRAM?Fallout 4 Hardware & Software IssuesMaybe these folks can help.Good luck.

Why has my FPS in CS:GO suddenly change?

I think it's because of the new Windows 10 update. (Assuming that's what you are using). Now to fix this all you have to do is go to start and search “regedit”.You will get a run command. Run it.Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER.Find the option “System” in it. Expand it. You'll get a suboption GameConfigStore. Click on it and you'll get an option GameDVR_Enabled.Double click it and a small tab will open. Change the Value data to 0.Run the game.Hope it helps. Keep fragging :)

1440p 60 FPS or 1080p 144 FPS Monitor?

You're leaning towards the right direction

Why does my FPS drop & Ping raise when recording Quake Live with Fraps?

So i've been trying to record game play of quake live using fraps, but for some reason every time i start recording my FPS drops a lot. Now I know this is normal for games but I think the reason it's dropping is because my ping goes from around 30 to 120+ as soon as I start recording and my FPS drops from 120FPS to 60. This is strange cause i'm able to record High performance games like battle field fine, but when it comes to an old game such as quake my ping hits the roof.
Does anybody have an answer to why this is happening?!
Cheers, Kris
